Probably is a probably not but you could also say it's just public negotiation to put pressure on KVV and Groningen to take more of a haircut for the next six months.
Because let's be honest, he clearly doesn't want to be there and not only do they not especially want him there, they basically came out and called him fat and unprofessional the other week.
Their negotiating position is through the floor. Not only are they going to struggle to get anyone to pay anything significant of his wages towards the rest of the season, come summer who is going to spend serious money on an enigmatic but unhappy 33-year-old with issues who probably hasn't played first team football for eight months if he stays in their reserves?
We are very quickly approaching the point where Groningen's best - nearly only option - is to take what pennies in the pound they can shipping him to Scotland till May so he can sort himself out and score enough goals that ideally someone gambles on him properly in June or, perhaps, he's then ready for 24/25.
I'm sure Groningen will turn down an offer to cover 25% of his wages now but in two weeks time I doubt it...
I can see him getting a loan deal with a Scottish club but probably not us. My money would be Aberdeen, particularly if someone comes in with money for Miovski in the last week of January and they go for the lazy option. I can see Aberdeen being precisely the sort of place he could go in the huff.

Other than the last paragraph, is that not his statement from around Christmas time?

Stewart signs for Killie. I keep banging this drum but if KVV is properly hell bent on coming back to Scotland then a)who else still needs a forward and b)what other forwards could we sign?
Not going to lie, would have been happy to sign Stewart.

Remember, this time last year, Hammell brought in a whole stack of players but wasn't able to improve the performances or results, despite some of them going on to be good signings. We need to hope Kettlewell can get a tune out of whoever he does bring in this time around as well otherwise we're looking at a repeat of changing manager again.

I'm assuming I'm a bit older than you as I have a vague memory of my dad taking me to a Scottish Cup game at Recreation Park which we won 2-0. My only memory is that you paid in to the terracing and then there was a separate entrance inside the ground where you paid an extra 50p if you wanted to go into the stand.
I gave up expecting to win against any team long ago so no shaking in my boots from me. I'll just be watching the game through my fingers, if I take my boots I might make the bench.

That Hearts trackie top nearly saw my lunch come back up.

If Wilkinson is the answer, I'm not sure what the question is.
There has to be someone out there we can get in at least on a par.

Agreed he'd be an improvement on any of the other forwards we have (assuming the Mika departure rumours are correct).

I know it's highly unlikely we're going to sign KVV anyway but am I the only one thinking he possibly hit a purple patch with us and he's more likely to be the slightly off the pace, huffy bugger version?

Going by recent events (at other clubs as well, not just the Biereth rumours), it's looking like season-long deals aren't worth the paper they're written on.

I don't know how reliable The Star is but they also have other Championship clubs interested in that article. I didn't realise Biereth is London-born, just assumed he'd come over from Denmark at a young age.

Unless I've missed something, Halliday hasn't actually signed?
If and when it actually happens, I'll get my panties wet/in a bunch then.
Come on, you know that's not how it works

My memories of seeing Halliday is that he's quite good at scoring from late runs from midfield but not much of a midfield presence. Could be quite tidy with Spittal and Miller/Paton but we'd need Davor or Butcher to be doing a lot of donkey work behind them.

That's good to hear
The one thing I'm taking from the Andy Halliday chat is I'm amazed the amount of people that say they listen to Super Scoreboard.

I'm once again asking if we can just sign Stephen Kelly.
Halliday a massively meh signing. I don't really feel he's ever properly got to grips with the top flight, tbqhwy. He'd be fine because Slattery's leg fell off and f**k all else tbh.
Grown adults that enjoy Harry Potter that much are quite frankly a concern.
Didn't know he was into Harry Potter. He might have an appropriate scarf already I suppose.

You've certainly got a point. It would hopefully avoid the formation tombola through necessity but, as we saw in some of the recent games, we don't have subs to change things when the legs have gone.

Yeah, it's difficult not to get carried away with rumours when there's nothing else happening transfer wise. That's all they are at this stage - rumours. Biereth and Slattery.

Or they saw some of the games where we continually launched it over his head?
There have been times when I've come out of games thinking 'Surely this isn't what Arsenal are looking for for his development '?

Arsenal done it three times with Harry Clarke.
He had a 12 month loan contract at County ended in January, then moved on loan to Hibs the same month on a 18 month loan deal.
6 months later they ended that loan deal so he could join Stoke on a 12 month loan, but that was cut short in January so they could sell him permanently to Ipswich.
That's quite impressive actually.
I suppose they hold all the cards and can do whatever they want.

I've read (well, listened to audiobooks in the car) the first 12 books and found the last two (this was from book 11) to be a downturn in quality. They are very formulaic anyway but there's a definite feeling of clues being presented when required as someone mentioned so i was surprised they chose this. I've not watched any of series 2 but will give it a go as I enjoyed the first series.

Did Arsenal not do something similar before with a player on loan at County who they recalled and loaned out to Hibs in January (presumably for more money)?

The club won't announce anything until there is something to announce. One of the normally trusted journalists (Burns or McGarry, can't remember which one) posted we had nothing to worry about regarding Biereth. We'll just have to wait and see.

An average of slightly over 3 fouls per game, I'm surprised it's not higher.

I was under the impression that they all got out successfully , but no.
Presumably that was the real man at the end.

Incredible story and I'm amazed he's not more generally known. Considering it was obviously in the media at the time, it seems like a forgotten story.
Also on iPlayer, I watched My Old School recently and still can't get my head round how it was all able to happen. I can remember it being in the news but couldn't remember the details. It's the story of a 32yo pretending to be school age to go back to school in Bearsden. Told through interviews with classmates and teachers, animation and Alan Cummings voice-syncing the guy's interview. Bonkers.
