The Famous Aberdeen - Season 2022/23

Like considine in a mcinnes team vs the Stephen glass team where people felt his qarabag injury derailed the entire season. Just a damning indictment of the entire squad. -

Cool, I’m sure plenty people will be willing to go on about it, won’t be me. -

Don’t think those incidents are remotely comparable tbh. Going full da here, but I could be technically wrong on whether both of these pens. Happy to concede if I am but I’m glad the game wasn’t settled by either incident. We should’ve won without VAR and I’d rather focus on that, as it’s the same reason we’re in the bottom 6. Every thread being dragged into this is just dull. -

Yeah I think way more of this is being made than need be. Marshall gets there and they clash but I’m not seeing a pen really. I still don’t think the handball is anyway conclusive either. Both sides should be far more concerned with their inability to defend. -
What happened to top striker partnerships?
Dons_1988 replied to DA Baracus's topic in Scottish Premiership General Chatter
I wasn’t really meaning it as a ‘he could have been the next dalgleish’ type post. Young guys making an arse if their 20’s isn’t that novel, but it’s sad when he’s in his 30’s, sees his career slipping away and not fulfilling anything like his potential (whatever it was), and almost shrugging his shoulders and saying he couldn’t really have done anything different because of his mates. O’Connor has been far more reflective in his failings and how he let himself down. Nothing really to do with one being a bigger waste of talent than the other or vice versa. -

I remember hearing an interview with riordan towards the end of his career and he was pressed on whether he had regrets about it. He kept just saying ‘you can’t change who your mates are’ and things like that. You realised he was always going to blow it. The interview genuinely irritated me, such a waste. -
Thanks, I’ve always said I’ve loved being a dad throughout even the worst times for my mrs. She has slight PTSD from it all so does fear the same happening for a second kid but I’m confident it wouldn’t. She loves motherhood now and has become the mother I knew she was/could be. Did get pretty hairy for a wee while though, mind.

The Famous Aberdeen - Season 2022/23
Dons_1988 replied to a topic in Scottish Premiership General Chatter
I’m fine with devlin. His consistency of performance, albeit limited, has been a slight comfort in a season of criminal inconsistency across the board. Agree the lack of competition is criminal, and you can say the same on the other side with mckenzie. -

Don’t disagree too much. Jensen and gartenman do good things like tackles and blocks throughout games but I often find myself wondering why they are constantly having to do it. That may be the team as a whole rather then their fault but gartenman especially has a habit of being very rash positionally. Sometimes macdonalds abilities get over stated but it is bizarre he’s basically not been given any chance all season. -

The list of excuses you’ve reeled off was used either by Barry robson himself or used in the context of not judging robson too harshly for the league position. I think if you read the main Aberdeen thread around autumn time you’ll see the prediction was that the excuses would run dry and robson would be exposed. Your post came across similar to the st Mirren fans who keep bringing up the fact we had games in hand. There’s absolutely no doubt this squad is under achieving, that’s not to say it’s amazing. We had this discussion before and I said defensively we were poor and this would undermine us unless we addressed it January. Today underlined that as we were pretty good for large parts but shot ourselves in the foot. But if we’d seen today’s levels across the past 24 games we’d have won more than 6. I’m fairly certain of that. If we’d rebalanced the squad with some pace and some defensive solidity in January and relaxed the manager earlier we could still be thinking about Europe and not drifting to bottom 6 shite again. -

Oh Vincent stop it. Tom English levels of hyperbole. -
Celtic v Kilmarnock
Dons_1988 replied to deadasdillinger's topic in Scottish Premiership General Chatter
Celtic and their support just don’t seem up for an actual fight it seems. The **** seem like they’re loving just being involved and suspect that momentum will carry them to a wholly pointless title win that will see them fighting each other and shitting themselves in George square again. -

The hearts one was frustrating but it’s a pen. You can’t say that today. I thought it was chest in real time, replay makes it look worse but only because of his weird motion with his body. Anyway I fucking hate talking about ref decisions so I’ll let you see it back. Mckenzie was much better today and was pleased to see life in Duk again. -

Think you’ve just decided you don’t like Nicky devlin at this point. His action was silly but it hits him high up, at best there’s no way of concluding it’s a handball. -

What a depressing post. At best ill informed, at worst dismissive and condescending. Poor show. -

Probably because it wasn’t clear and obvious I can already tell I won’t be changing your mind on this so I’ll leave you to the outrage. -

That was actually a much more coherent and useful performance than the majority of the season. I suppose it’s progress that we looked an ok team that just can’t defend. The hibs equaliser took all the energy out of us. -

Classic from this team. Playing well and shooting itself in the foot at a key moment. This is why it’s bottom 6 for us. -

Was in the car earlier and was relieved to hear Tom English call out the sycophantic reporting on Neil Warnock. It’s bordering ridiculous how much they crow over every little shit soundbite. That is completely independent of my view on him as a manager, just think it’s ridiculous.
