  1. There was a nicotine patch advert on tv last night. The whole premise was it fulfilling a New Years resolution, with the woman claiming her life has changed dramatically for the better because she carried out her New Years resolution of stopping smoking. This was on the 6th January, so not even a week.
  2. A Shay Logan/Adam Rooney double signing type window from 2014 would be most welcome
  3. Got a nagging feeling it won't be an interesting window at all
  4. Cheers. My diet is currently high protein/low carb to aid weight loss but might not be the best for running. I also have a protein shake after every run/gym workout. I'm doing a run 3 days a week (1 of which is interval training) and 3 days at the gym, with gym focus on weights and HIIT. I'm hoping the combination of the two will see the fat burn come in as well. Will continue to monitor weight loss/composition over the next month or so and see how it goes, also conscious that lack of fat burn could be due to Christmas indulgence.
  5. Nah I’ve accepted that long runs will diminish muscle, it was more that I still have plenty fat to shift. I am losing weight but I’m keen for it not ‘just’ to be muscle but also fat.
  6. Nothing you’ve said is wrong, it’s just not particularly relevant to what I asked. It’s fine, I’ve moved on with my life.
  7. Thanks, but I wasn’t really just asking how to lose weight.
  8. Wouldn’t say it was stinking but i will never understand folk who go to a restaurant and ask for a bowl of pasta with cheese mixed through it.
  9. Yeah I think I’ll have to accept muscle loss and that’s fine, it’s just that I’m still carrying too much fat and don’t want it to prevent fat burn. I’m splitting my time between running and gym/weights/HIIT so hopefully that will work long term.
  10. Weighed myself at the gym this morning to find I was 92kg but that I’d basically lost all muscle instead of fat. I suppose muscle loss is to be expected with doing more long distance running but does anyone have any tips on trying to make sure the weight loss is mostly fat and not muscle, whilst also incorporating distance running?
  11. Lads, Bennett is going to keep repeating the same thing over and over again no matter what you say.
  12. The premiership forum appears to have turned into a collective old firm heads gone. May avoid until the football is back.
  13. You’ve basically summed up your pathetic rivalry mate
  14. Randomguy seething about the dons even on a winter break?
  15. I have sympathy. I've battled with my weight since I was 17 and don't get me wrong some people's composition makes them more vulnerable to putting on weight. There's many reasons why I got fat, mostly due to my mental health and the way I treated my body during that time. But being fat itself was not an illness, I got fat because I regularly overdid food and booze without exercising. And I lost weight because I did the opposite over a sustained period.
