Still missing the point. Not arguing Scotland's performances in Europe are poor. What I am trying to say that modern football is reflected in the fact that a team that has had several failed attempts in a footballing sense to prove themselves at the top level would then claim that 'they should play at the elite level' purely on the basis of the fact they have a lot of fans is a very sad indictment of the 'sport' we all follow.

I wasn't trying to defend our european form, to put it into context you don't hear the management at aberdeen claiming we have a god given right to compete at a certain level of football despite blatantly failing to reach that level in a football sense.

All that's wrong with attitudes in football today: - 3 attempts in 2 seasons to enter a specially designed competition for the best teams in Europe to compete. Failed. - "yeah but we have lots of fans, we deserve to be there" What a lot of pish Edit to make relevant to this thread - the old Rangers were very guilty of above mentioned pish

In fairness it is no secret his kids are based in Manchester and that it is not an ideal situation for him. If he doesn't leave this week it may be January or next summer but it is definitely coming and fair play to him. Will wish him all the best when that time comes as he's been great for us.
