  1. McAlear's free to play today. The rule is they must have signed before the original match date rather than the draw date. QP like ourselves had their 4th round match postponed and signed Henderson after that date and played him in the rearranged tie which was the issue.
  2. Does feel in Q3 that our set up has been based on how well it worked in the last game (i.e last Friday). Having played teams twice we might have been better looking at the previous games against the same opponent. No way we set up 4-5-1 tonight if they do. Also McAlear's been thrown in a week early, as he lacked the understanding with the other 2, especially as Smith hadn't really done anything wrong to get dropped. Still expect plenty of twists to come so all is not lost.
  3. I don't believe Reda Johnson is Bangala's agent and just that he asked Bullen if he was looking for any players and mentioned his name. Only connection from what I can see is Johnson being at Eastleigh the same time as an ex Le Havre youth player that Bangala would know. Not that it really was much different to other signings we make, apart from not watching him live. Mathie and Glendinning were still involved and I imagine they'll get plenty of recommendations themselves from football people that never go anywhere.
  4. Probably, although I'd have Hewitt and Smith on the bench before Bangala. Possibly a loan move for Smith to L1 might benefit him more now McAlear's signed as long as Murdoch's injury isn't bad.
  5. The issue will be whether Mullin's registration changes due to his contract with us changing from loan to permanent effectively making him a new player. Suspect it will.
  6. Sadly not just some guesswork although 2+2 might turn out to be 5.
  7. I think we'll sign someone else from the same league possibly along with McAlear.
  8. Some people didn't like it but personally it's a lot easier for me when players like Daire and Dipo follow the club on Twitter days in advance or the parents do it...
  9. Based on last January it will probably be an Ashford or Rowe type signing from down south that nobody's heard of. So a 25 y/o midfielder from L2 looking for regular football or a promising young LB that's making their way back from injury. Also does the domestic loan window close tomorrow or is it open beyond that? If it is we might hold one back to see what the current injury situation is like.
  10. In fairness the club would have supplied it as Musonda is in another from today's batch of training photos. Only looks like fitness work so he'll still be a while away. Appears Reading was training too although his eye looks a mess.
  11. The idea that some footballers might want to play football which appears to be his attitude. Situation is he can join us for less money but for a guaranteed start and potentially achieve something or sit on Livingston's bench which is the exact reason he's pushed for moves before. Also not playing regularly leaves him sort of match practice potentially impacting deals he'll get in the summer.
  12. Mullin's requested his last two loan moves and got them so I think if he really wants to stay with us he could ask for his Livi contract to be ripped up. If we've offered a figure in line with our wage structure then it's up to Mullin to show some flexibility given his current situation. A 4 month deal and he can reconsider his options after that if it's about money. Ayr can only do so much.
  13. Essentially he can't play for any team that has a similar league season to us i.e. Aug-May but could move to Ireland for example as their season run Feb-Nov. Not that I see him moving away from the Glasgow area as him and his partner seem settled and also has a young son. to think about rather than himself.
  14. Not sure that's true. Truth is probably more the CB's (Roscoe, Baird, McGinty etc.) got all the flak but in reality Reading's has always looked weak defensively. Lacks a bit of aggression to stop crosses, easily beaten inside and 4 or 5 goals lost due to his failure to defend the back post when crosses come in from the left. In fairness this is the first time he's had the same manager for a year but concerns would be he's not showed any improvement since. Attacking wise he seems reluctant to cross from deep and most of his crosses from the byline go out for a throw in, corner or goal kick. IMO his next move is probably the National League or below. Hopefully proves me wrong but if not I suppose we'll always have that goal.
  15. Think Bilham played LB for Meadow when he was on loan. Unlikely he'd get off the bench even if Reading's out though.
  16. Was talk of attitude issues but the loan was only until the 14th January and he played that day for us so maybe it was a mutual decision. Wouldn't blame him given some of the football we played that season. Do think it's funny the amount of stick him and McKenna get as if players can't improve over time The likes of them and Cadden showed glimpses of quality with us but no consistency. More a case of wrong time than anything else.
  17. Must be as he played 1 minute for St Mirren in the League Cup so can't go anywhere else.
  18. I suppose if they made us sign him permanently then he would be eligible to play them if it happened so in their best interests to leave it as a loan deal as you can't play against your parent club.
  19. Martindale's mentioned needing players to leave in order to repay their COVID loan and pay for VAR. Given Mullin can't play for anyone else this season we shouldn't be parting with any cash at this point.
  20. Rule 12.5 is: When a Match which is postponed, drawn, or abandoned is played or replayed, only those Players who were eligible, by means of their registration, to be listed on the Official Team Line for a Club at the date fixed for originally playing the Match, are eligible to be listed on the Official Team Line for that Club for the rescheduled Match
  21. I'm sure only players eligible for today's game can play in the rearranged game, unless I've made up that rule in my head.
  22. Probably the question who would play Andy Murray in a movie.
  23. Funny how it's only when he loses a close match that people say it's time to retire. They should at least be consistent. Hopefully they've managed to sort something else to do tonight at such short notice as he going nowhere yet except to maybe have baby number 5 if Kim was in Australia.
  24. Ridiculous defending from Murray to get the break back. Kokkinakis rattled at the minute.
