To be fair though, the last 2 teams that have tried to deny us the second half 'advantage' of shooting into our own stand have went in at half time on the wrong end of 3 nil pumpings so I'd be quite happy for that trend to continue this weekend.

Given how quickly we have been starting games, I think it might actually give us an advantage when everyone is right up for it at kick off.

Serious shout to change this when we get to pick ends at kickoff?

Yeh there was a lot of rubbish said then. Just meant Holt as a person. Been around him at work and didn’t seem like a bad guy. Sure others might have a different experience, just as I did some of the old board! Certainly didn’t think Holt was good at his job though, but then again who is good at their first job….

He should’ve stuck to whatever workplace you are referring, absolutely atrocious DoF, and not a good manager either to boot.

The whole ‘I’ve had a Scotland cap so I know better than everyone else’ was proper cringe, we’re all entitled to opinions but I respectfully disagree that he’s not a bad guy: he perhaps might not intend to be an arse - but he ultimately is an arse

Holt seems like an ok guy but I definitely didn’t want him back at the club.

Remember when it was said that we had a system in place for recruiting new players and then in comes Luke Holt as keeper. Just another one of the many BS achievements made by the Rawlins. Wouldn’t want to see them back at the club either.

Sorry got to disagree. Holt seemed like a complete c**t of a guy, was universally disliked on his second stint as far as I could see (BoD excluded, naturally - they were very clearly totally enamoured with the shite coming out his mouth)

Was it not him who said ‘teams raise their game against us’ as an excuse for being completely pish, powderpuff push overs?

In any case, singing Luke Holt and then trying to defend it is bad enough.

Indeed. I'm reminded of 13/14 when we pumped eventual champions Dundee twice at home, and STILL ended up losing in the play offs to Accies after finishing 3rd.

Holt fucked us that season too, by not recruiting from a position of strength in January.

I think I hate that p***k more than any employee we've ever had.

Ditto. He’s a cretin. Worse than Hartley, let that sink in….WORSE than the rat

  5. Ballot the membership, but I’d hazard a guess that given the option our support would largely support additional funds targeting increased investment in academy rebuild. I’ve not met many fans who don’t lament the loss of this once proud facet of the club. If we keep increasing membership many investment opportunities could be possible.

No way! Give me scrapping for SPL survival any day! More prize money, better players, the stadium regularly sold out, the occasional taking points off the arse cheeks - so much better than even winning League 1 by 20 - 30 points, surely? And we could crowdwank ourselves into oblivion! 😋

Scenes at survival Saturday (or Sunday cannae be arsed checking) over a trip to meadowbank? Aye! No brainer

Yeah 7 points from 3 games is a good start but it should have been 9 from 3 just McKay (the less said the better) and with 8 goals scored is better than last season I’m sure at this point and the front 4 of miller, Ross, Alfie and Callum is ripping the league to shreds and should rip Ayr to shreds as well.

the hopeful in me says we have a SMALL CHANCE to do an invincible season but that is a VERY SMALL CHANCE if we keep this form up but that won’t happen

saturday will be the best test against a seasoned league 1 side who will be close to play offs

Can I have what you are smoking? Nae chance of an invincible season FFS.

    fishing?

100% agree, I like the improvements in attack as Agyeman looks to be a talisman and MacIver looks useful alongside the addition of Miller. However, we are a couple injuries away from an absolute calamitous defence, hopefully McGlynn can utilise the loan market well in the coming weeks.

Miller looks very decent, better than Kennedy last season is my prediction.

Lang and Spencer doing the basic stuff really well yesterday made the difference imo.

much better with McGinn off the pitch, he looked sluggish in that first half. Hendo done better.

I’m somewhat in pre-season mode of not giving a f**k and I’m also over the absolute clusterfuck we made of the play-offs having been raging for about a solid week during them. However, I feel a lot of the focus is the capitulation on the Tuesday night. While obviously it was incredibly embarrassing, the Saturday was humiliating in a different way - 90% of the players didn’t believe or try a leg. If you’re assessing the failure, it’s over the two legs, not just the first.

100% should have been siege mentality - if they done that to us in 20 mins we can do to them. Get right in their faces and win your individual battles. But man to man we shat it and as you said they clearly didn’t believe.
Thats McGlynns belief to instil in them, he didn’t but need to move on. Would be hard to have worse GK the coming season at least.

Take your skelping like a grown up and cut the Billy big time stuff out. Falkirk don’t live in anyone’s head except as a go to figure of fun. Your club is a total laughing stock and that Falkirk you reminisce about is long gone.

And yet we may become that Falkirk again…..but you’ll never be the original real airdrie

It's always the same 1 or 2 posters who, when they offer an opinion that could be construed as in any way critical of the club/playing staff/management/board, are accused of "having an agenda"

It's always the same 1 or 2 posters making that particular accusation.

And it's always the same vague "agenda" insinuation. Never anything specific.

    Funny that.

It’s boring and tedious tbh - but suppose are here for people to share their views. It’s all got a bit childish so I skip over it now tbh.

Looking forward to Tuesday night now.

If you look at both teams form then Falkirk have gained 2 points on us since the beginning of December.

We are still unbeaten at home and have conceded less goals all season than Falkirk have conceded away from home...

Yes Falkirk are playing well but so are we....McPake got it spot on last game at Grangemouth Stadium....

Falkirk need a win, we don't...a win for us would just about see us over the line but Jesus Falkirk are definitely playing well.

Hopefully game is on and looks to be a cracking crowd.

May the best team win 👍👍

We’ve scored a lot more goals than you, you’ve only lost once all season to our 4 but for us that was early season and we’ve grown since then. Since January we’ve been a different side to the first half of the season and McPake will need a different game plan this time IMO.

I don’t watch the pars very week, but they don’t strike me as going the rest of the season without another loss. Some recent ties were close.

Mental commentary from McPake saying Airdrie as best of the rest. He struggled to beat them but other teams aren’t at all.

The overall quality of Falkirk TV is superb, probably the best in the lower leagues.

Got to say though the commentator always comes across as ridiculous. He resembles how I watched football when I was 12 years old, seems to think everything is against his team and complains about it during the commentatory. In a 9 minute highlights package he whines about Airdrie's goal being offside on 3 separate occasions, despite it being almost impossible to tell from the replay.

Absolutely no issue with club commentators being biased, as ours is, but there's a way of doing it. It's the only unprofessional part of an otherwise excellent service. Although I appreciate 95% of viewers aren't really going to care!

They had access to the football analysts feed which had a better angle and was clearly offside (according to what was said live) would be a nice improvement to add the shot to highlights but not sure what’s permitted etc around that stuff - SFA probably don’t want to see evidence of how bad officials at this level are (for all teams).

  15. Sort of happy for Nesbitt but worry that it’s paper over cracks, new system obviously worked better for him personally.

Maybe if Henderson plays more at CM he’ll get closer with the chances from the edge but was good to see two guys doing physical stuff right in the middle and let McGinn get wee but further forward.

Would defo focus on a forward now tbh, especially if Algeria is going to be away for a bit.

Looked good, got up and down the line all day, put in a few dangerous crosses, was denied the goal after a few minutes but it was really hard to tell whether or not it actually was in.

What I loved from him was how hungry he was to win the ball back if we'd gave it away.

It was in, ball bounces off ground onto roof of net - you can see it bulge in the FTV footage. was the worst officiating I’ve seen in decades.

Who is advocating throwing all our resource at the Academy?

Was wondering where this was was mentioned myself. I don’t read all the time but can’t see anyone saying throw everything at an academy.

Actually everyone seems to be saying the same thing but Pedro still seems upset about it.

Lawell, Burrell, Yeats are all decent enough ‘non academy graduates’ to clarify that it’s not ‘all in for academy’ in fact weren’t people saying we have a longer term plan for higher status in SFA programme? Don’t get what the knicker wetting from some on here is about. I don’t see anyone disputing that we need to get out this league first and foremost.
