He would absolutely tackle this league into oblivion.
Was he the last true ball winning midfielder / hard tackler we had?
Feels like forever we have been weak as f**k in the middle of the park.

Scale of that collapse is actually worse than I remember when it’s laid out like that, despite it not being pretty M&M at least had us grinding out results and sitting top on course for promotion before GH arrived. Also no coincidence our collapse coincided almost perfectly with the arrival of Gary Holt!
The arrival of the esteemed Holt, wasn’t lost on me. Almost to the day he arrived we imploded.

He still needs a tune out of them, he still will have most of them after the window closes. Don’t think he has much option but to praise them publicly to keep them onside and harmony in the camp. Fans are not stupid they know what Rennie is doing.
Some fans are stupid m9

Superb from Kabia but make no mistake about it we were absolutely rotten
A lot more work to be done for sure, but gradual progress is fine - we didn’t ship utterly stupid goals this week at least (all be it with an extra man)

Aye probably because Rennie will have told Glass he won’t play so if you want him to get game time take him back and punt him somewhere else
‘Probably’ you say?

Not a chance. Absurd idea anyway. Big attitude problem, disruptive figure, not exactly renowned for a teamwork ethic, couldn't stir himself at Dundee, so where's his incentive to drop to the depths of L1?
Pay him per goal - he’d be scoring 6 a match!

On the topic of player wages, if u take football manager to be a reliable source, which you would think there would be some research done, then our players get paid between 700 to 1000 p/week. Gary holt was also on either 900 or 1200 p/week, can’t mind as I terminated his contract at the start
Love it

I think we would struggle to get work permits in league one for Asian and American nationals.
David Weatherston is currently in Norway and doing a fair bit of analysis on the players there and across Scandinavia. He had identified the young guy Hibs have just signed, I would hope somebody could get in touch with him as one of ex players for some insight.
I realise that Norway isn’t in the EU but is your statement suggestive that no foreign nationals at all could qualify for a work permit in an independent UK earning a few grand a month? I’d have thought there was more chance of American and Asian professionals getting work permits now than at any stage of being in the EU. All be it a different level but Celtic clearly not struggling to get Japanese players permits.

I think it may have been a case of an office or corridor conversation being overheard and then misinterpreted……I.e., the real conversation was “Hell’s teeth, that Clyde game was brutal what are we going to do?”
Followed by “I am not too sure, but we had better get some sod signed before the next game”.
Enjoyed this

God knows what kind of contracts deans crew have handed out over the past few years. If they were happy to sanction 3 years for Brad Mackay Holt's probably got a cast iron 5 year deal under his belt.
Cast iron my foot! He’s an employee of company, 99.9% of companies would not hesitate to get shot of someone in this situation. It’s nothing like a players contract and will not have any time frame like ‘5 year deal’ or a certain date of expiry. The length of service means he has only limited employment rights and there are many ways to handle this if the club board wanted him out.
Maybe it’s in progress but of course maybe the board are content with his presence.

And paying him out of his contract would be less detrimental financially? Talk sense.
Why would you need to pay him off? He’s not even been in post for a year (or maybe just a year now cba checking)

It’s remarkable that the club has not come out with anything to close down these rumours. It would be justified to do so on the basis that at least one tabloid has reported the possibility.
Frankly, our new board are either in the game of professional suicide or are in danger of being classed as downright incompetent (again)….Becoming quite concerned about this new board and the bright new dawn all being rather much more like same old, same old tbh.
I think Rennie was a good appointment, but Holt still being around and them being a bit too quiet considering our position is a growing concern.

Hopefully Dowds and A.N Other. Ruth and McDaid punted back to Aberdeen and Dundee. And somehow get rid of Wilson.
‘No chance...Christmas was last week pal.

That would be magic. No sure wtf we are doing letting Patterson go on loan to such a low level. Bo’ness athletic?? The guy looked like he could’ve broke into our team, we just gave him a deal till 2023 too.
Taking into consideration Dowds your ‘such a low level’ comments sticks to f**k pal. It’s quite clear even to a casual observer that we are under where we ought to be - I dare say in next few years yourselves might be at ‘such a low level’.
well done on this season though, love to see a team outperforming so called bigger teams with sheer hard work and determination

Let’s just remember that Holt singled out and embarrassed two strikers who are still employed by the club to justify his signing of Wilson. For that alone he should have been binned. Why would Dowds want to come back and work his arse off for a club that put that out for everyone to see.
Borderline gross misconduct for him to make those comments in a public forum tbh - but football is a funny business

Either Holts contract is totally water tight & could cost the club a considerable amount of money to terminate or the new board are happy @ what he does behind the scenes
Just make the role Redundant if we want rid - it’s very simple. I can recommend a good professional to the club to help do this correctly if they need it. Pro Bono as well.

Dave Mac doing the tannoy at the final at Hampden today. Wasn’t a part of plans at Falkirk though…
Hopefully we get that sorted. Deserves payment with us.
Well done to him.
Wasn’t he back doing tanoy at TFS against Cove?

Most likely we won’t get the required players in, though I imagine we expect more from Mills and Jacobs after a bit longer with the squad. Watson I’d think would get better too (although already comfortably better performance than the guys he’s displaced).
Agree with most of sentiment about the midfield, just not good enough really yesterday.
The Mo done more when it counted but for me nothing to fear. Wasn’t like they had us under the the kosh the whole game, not even close to that. Both teams were poor in the 2nd half IMO. Seasons form till now they should have been looking to blow us away - We’d have been pumped with the team prior to the window so we have to take this as progress.
