  1. Not sure he’s at that stage yet, albeit a special talent. Lots of ifs but if St Johnstone get relegated and replace Levein with a forward thinking manager, reckon that’d be best case scenario for him. Full-time at one of the better Championship sides. Plenty game time and freedom. Be exciting to watch it unfold for them all.
  2. Feeling a strange set of emotions this morning. Got that gutted feeling bottom of my stomach as we should be preparing for a play-off final. For a second year in a row, it is something that isn't football dominating the chat. However, can't feel anything other than pride for majority of the team and the manager for their efforts in those conditions. When the dust settles will be really excited to see what Andy does with this squad. I am sure recruitment is well underway and hopefully it is a summer where things are sorted out quickly. We obviously will have to wait to replace some incredible loan signings though. Agree that we won't see Steven and Wales, but Sutherland could be a possibility. Hopefully a left-winger if we do! Taking a day or so before recording the pod but got a couple of episodes coming up this week and some cool stuff lined up over summer!
  3. Never went but did the voting poll. Supporter’s POTY was Bobby Wales. After 700-odd votes, it was the different of 2 votes from 2nd. Advertiser POTY was Kurtis Roberts. Goal, also Kurtis against Accies. Not given last night but Kurtis also swooped the Directors. Taylor Steven Director’s Young POTY.
  4. Was always going to happen but thought really good leadership to pull the boots on for 90 minutes. It’s no secret that he doesn’t want to play anymore and doesn’t train as much. However, willing to play 90 minutes against the best team in the league and let his team have a rest. Not many managers have the opportunity to literally get on the park and help his team like that. Could’ve been easy to just keep on the side. He’ll fight for his team and equally, they’ll go above and beyond for him. Now, 255 Alloa appearances. Proper leader and legend.
  5. Had tried to get Sean Elderbrant on but unfortunately, timing didn’t work. Kev and I starting new jobs at the same time means still finding new routines to record. Maybe get him on for a full League 1 season review!
  6. This will close at 7pm today, for any last minute votes or shares. Pretty tight I must say!
  7. Support are organising it. Carroll Dick and Alan Harrower. Just asked if we’d help put it out on club channel’s for votes.
  8. | Alloa Athletic Supporter’s Player of the Year Awards Night. Voting is now open for supporter’s to vote for their Player of the Year and Goal of the Season. Tickets available now, includes an evening with the team, buffet, and raffle. Vote Now https://forms.gle/sKXmLHoTkK7tnuAQA
  9. Scored a challenge cup goal for Accies against Hearts B, suppose technically a senior goal but against a B team. Quite surprised when I dug into that but suppose not his game at all and his been a bit bitty few years. Thoroughly deserved after his turn of the year form. I was one that suggested a possible loan move would be best for all parties. Now, it’s hard to see a team without him.
  10. Hopefully didn’t put words in your mouth, @AlloaAdam. Good to have these sort of chats stemming from what other supporters have said, as opposed to just our opinion! Tonight’s result in Edinburgh changes the last part of today’s pod ever so slightly. @Kevchenko care to say what you said off air? Looks to be coming true!
  11. Picked the perfect game to come back to Scotland for. That was a lot of fun. Not a bad mark on any player today, from PJ in goals with some big saves to the forwards showcasing some real quality, it was a joy to watch. I was a coin toss for man of the match between Roberts and Virtanen though. Controlled that game with their composure and energy. Hetherington back into that mix too is a great problem to have, the complete opposite problem, to what we had last season. This Alloa team seem to be able to rise to the big occasions, something I hope we can say come May. Again, a brilliant travelling support matched with the effort on the pitch. The scenes after every goal and full-time were superb. The man at the helm, Andy Graham, maintaining his coolness when I spoke to him after too. Said on the pod, you see no difference in message whether we win 5-1 or lose 2-0. The message is consistent, never too high, never too low. A brilliant leader. Today, a real showpiece for his short reign so far.
  12. We already kept Wales the last Scotland camp when he was called up for friendlies, these are now qualifiers for the EUROs. Can't blame him and wouldn't really want him to knock the opportunity to potentially play a tournament like that. Although, for us, definitely a massive blow.
  13. His finish yesterday was lovely. Back heel finish, well worth a watch. Bobby has been excellent, even when not scoring. Works the line well, intelligent positioning and touches, as well as now adding goals to his game. Sometimes his best performances are when he doesn't score! He is a bag of tricks and a joy to watch. At timed we have seen a frustated figure against some of the better teams in the league but all part of why he is here on loan. Wales and Steven just look like young players really enjoying their football and playing with a lot of confidence.
  14. Agree, think the way we have been doing it works a treat. Don't want to see Wales start on the wing but his most effective part of the game at Accies was his little cameo on the left. Despite Sammo's height, he isn't a striker who'll win those flick-ons, like MacIver. His attributes lie elsewhere. Much rather have Scouggs in behind with his energy.
  15. Dave McKay been very good the last few weeks. Obviously Taggart coming into centre half is no downgrade but then you lose him on the right. Definitely weakened without McKay, at the moment. He was very unfortunate on Saturday too I felt. Different challenge for Robbo than his game against Stirling against an ineffective Hilson and Carrick.
  16. Alloa play a 4 at the back and have such an old astro turf, so those might be hard! Good to start a big run of games with 3 points. Looked some real lovely stuff played.
  17. @AlloaStats on Twitter, or John Glencross (@johnglencross12), will have plenty.
  18. Never came off the bench in League Cup. Only minutes for Killie have for the reserve side in Challenge Cup.
  19. Blow for Saturday, absolutely. Never expected him to play anyway. We lost Euan Henderson for a few weeks before returning. Don't think all is lost yet.
  20. Who are the other 4? Reilly loves a goal, or penalty, against us.
