  1. Provided we can get them all on the pitch at the same time, Toshney, Benedictus, Davo, Anderson and Daly should give us a hell of a presence at set pieces.
  2. The boy Foster who went to Ross County? No idea how he's getting on.
  3. Callachan has dislocated his shoulder. There goes that 'too many central midfielders' issue...
  4. I'm not convinced he would be after big money. He was on the radio the other night saying that he's off to America (or somewhere else with designated player rules) in January, and he's not interested in going down south or anything in the meantime. He was also saying that a lot of last season it was being reported that he was injured, but that wasn't true. He sounded like a sensible enough guy, his record is pretty decent, I'm more than happy to see what he's got to offer. Certainly ahead of has-beens like McFadden and never-wases like Riordan.
  5. As things stand, would it not be to our advantage to have the game postponed, with us definitely missing one of our two strikers?
  6. I don't know if it'll impact us in terms of missing a game or two, but that's Craig Wighton back in the Scotland U19s squad. Has anyone mentioned that we could do with another striker?
  7. Presumably McKinnon feels he needs a ball winner in the middle of the park. Someone to sit in and do the dirty work while Callachan/McCord/Craigen/Anderson go forward. We could certainly benefit from a bit more dig against the likes of Hibs and Rangers. Both Callachan and McCord have a hint of the 'Gerrards' about them when it comes to making tackles. A degree of my fangirling around Davo is tongue in cheek, but I do think some people are going overboard. He's a limited footballer, but he carries out his role very effectively. He's a few years more experienced and more mature than he was the last time he played for us, and I'd be really interested to see what he can bring to the table. I wouldn't be breaking the bank to bring him in, but if he performs well in training, and he's after reasonable wages, I think he'd give us something we don't have at the moment. I would prioritise another forward ahead of that though, for sure.
  8. Team needs to work on their communication. Stewart and the seagull going for the same ball down the right flank, both lost out to the left back. Boooo McKinnon!
  9. It's a shame we won't be housed in an upper tier at any point this season, they won't be able to drop a Vespa onto anyone.
  10. It wasn't so much a criminal history I was thinking of, although the gambling point is an indicator of a worrying degree of thickness, more his association with Rangers and everything that brings. I'm not convinced he's got the temperament to deal with being 'former Rangers star' Ian Black. He'd be better off going down to League One or Two in England.
  11. Confirmation in the FFP that Black's just with us for his own fitness. McKinnon's giving it the usual 'we'll see how he does and could well offer him something... But I'm sure he'll end up elsewhere'. If he can recapture his footballing form from his Caley and Hearts days he'd be a great asset in this division, but there's not been much evidence for that over the last could of years, and he brings a lot of baggage with him too. When you consider we're also pretty well covered in the middle of the park, I can't see him pulling on a Rovers jersey any time soon. I'd rather have Davo back anyway...
  12. I haven't seen it back on video or anything, but my recollection is that Elliot was tackling him.
  13. I've been pretty underwhelmed with McCord in the friendlies so far. He was probably the signing I was looking forward to seeing the most, but he hasn't made much of an impact.
  14. JJ Hooper play a game or two for you lot? On trial with us this evening and has just laid on the opening goal. Any opinions on him?
  15. Trialist up front. Either that or it's the same guy as Saturday and he'll be stuck out on the wing while Anderson fucks about in an offside position for 90 minutes again...
