    Sorry Dumbarton fans but I now wont be attending our pre-season friendly with you. If we lose the vote on Friday the game is fucked and I wont be back anyway. If the vote is won then it has been made a hell of a lot more difficult due to the cowardice of DFC. Doncaster and Regan talk pish. Dont listen to their lies. Stand up to them vote No to Newco. But already too late for DFC it seems......

    Can't say I blame you. Why don't you go to www.dumbartonfc.com and contact the Club - email FTAO Alan Jardine - and tell him why you're not coming to the friendly.

    There's still time for us all to try and change/focus their minds.Anyone else wants to email them on a similar topic- fine by me.

    Having sat through the meeting, my suspicions are that if the vote had gone the other way, the Chairman and Board would have went down the Yes to Sevco 2012 anyway.

    He's absolutely shitting himself over the formation of SPL2. That's his biggest fear.

    And my biggest fear is the backlash from others as a result of our Board being cowards.

    cheers for that - were you made aware that voting for division 3 had a rider attached whereby the SFL committee could overide that and place 'newco' in div 1, or was that kept quiet ?

    Not that I heard. The first I heard of it was on here. Then I saw the Jane Lewis article on BBC website.

    However, it was made clear to us that, in previous discussions last week, either Regan or Doncaster - I can't remember which - had said to the SFL meeting that Rangers to Div 1 will happen. So we knew that much, as we were told this at the meeting. Bully boy tactics IMO.

    As I said earlier - the slide shown was based on the "benefits" of having Sevco 2012 in Div 1, but if it was Div 3, all the "benefits" were off the table, but no mention of the layout of the motions as presented on here. Mr Jardine and the others all made it clear that they (the SFL) were working very hard toward getting an even better package of "benefits" before next Friday.

    That might have been as close as we got to a hint about the motions that are now being presented. But nothing at all was said about "if you don't vote the way we want you to, we'll vote for you" Definitely not a word mentioned.Gilbert Lawrie, one of the named Committee bunch, was one of our speakers.

    Divide and conquer at it's worst..

    Yes, can confirm that, vote apparantly 2:1 in favour of newco to first division

    Told big play on the fact that Dumbarton could lose £90,000 this season (included £60,000 withdrawal of the SPL/Sky money which i'm told CAN'T be withdrawn).

    Were you there? If so, WTF is a Morton fan doing in a closed-shop Dumbarton EGM?

    You had to show yout ST, Share Certificate or SonsTrust card to get in.

    Please do tell how you got in?????

    Or did you rely on tweets?

    First stumbling block to that is that I read on SevcoMedia earlier that they reckon the EGM of Dumbarton's Board this morning resolved to support Cevco FC for placement in Division 1 (Dunno if we have anyone who can confirm that???)

    Not sure where you got that info but I don't think it's quite as straightforward as you make it sound.

    Chairman Alan Jardine gave his Powerpoint presentation, which, IMHO, was a rehash of the one provided by Cockwomble earlier in the week. Showed £18.3 Mill losses overall. This figure was dissected by P&B's keyboard warriors and LOL'd on here already so I'll leave it at that.

    Mr Jardine's main worry was about the Sons of the Rock being cast into the wilderness should SPL 2 come along and bite our arse. Our stadium holds around the 2000 mark which falls short of the 3000 SPL2 criterion. He sees a glass ceiling stopping our progression/world domination of SFL, and as a result, debarrment from SPL 2.

    I have to say, of the 150-200 who attended the EGM, they (IMO) were split in their opinion (the discussions ran from 11am to about 1245 and everyone who wanted to, got their say).

    The Sons Board don't meet till later this week and there was no indication that they would follow the ballot results.

    So, in summary, your statement is factually incorrect, but what you think was the result of the Dumbarton FC board might be close to the truth in the end.

    FWIW, I voted Newco to Div 3 before his presentation began......f**k Sevco 5088. The Sons Board knew my feelings a week ago.

    Has anyone given any thought to the nickname we should give to the fans of newco? After all the can hardly be known as H*ns as that club doesn't have a team and soon won't exist anymore.

    For beginners I suggest we call them The Uns as they support an unclub, with an unlicence, playing in an unleague. They have an unhistory and very probably also have an unfuture.

    Well, it's a simple one.

    They are now being called "The" Rangers.

    We nearly all know them as The ****.

    Nobody really wants them so we shun them.

    So, why not call them "The Shun"? 8)
