  1. Good news that Shay has signed on for next season. He's a solid goalkeeper, albeit his reluctance to come for crosses still irks me.He's a cracking shot-stopper though, and has saved us in more games than he's cost us.I imagine he'll be in a battle for the Number One jersey next season, as Murray will be looking for more competition in that area, but that can only be a good thing as far as I'm concerned.

I agree with you on his ability to deal with crosses, it's a real worry of mine. I

really hope he has competition for the jersey.

  2. .........What sort of worth do these brothers have? I've never heard of them before this week, maybe it's because I'm an east coaster.

Off the radar wealth perhaps, in line with previous Investors? They own McGill's Buses which I read has the biggest fleet in Scotland. They also, as far as I can gather, have a large taxi business, and are trying to start up another, if what I read is true. I've read other speculation regarding their business practices but can't comment with any fact.

No.8 has said if they get a controlling interest in Rangers (RIP) he won't be back. Neither will Bennett if what he stated on here is true.

  3.

Fucking hell Simon you chat more and more pish by the day.

The worst part is you think your posts are clever/funny and they never are. To be fair that makes your posts funny not that i think that's your approach.

This is getting interesting; is it: WRK, WKR, Simon, Norman, Timmy or something else?

Jesus, you people changing his name have got my fucking head in a spin!!!!!!

  4. Aye, we were both bevvied and had an honest expression of opinion. I may well have used sweary words! So may have you!

I can't retrieve my posts from then as I was Kincardine 5088 or some sort of pre-pack identity - but what you just posted was sane and reasonable and please post more often. I'll shut the f**k up now lest you call me 'tedious' again ;)

Nope, I won't call you tedious again. In fact, I agree we both probably suffered from the bevvy at the time. A clean slate is good.

I admire your sig - in recognition of us winnng the "1/2" in 1890/91 !!! I even have a league table from that event!!

  5. Can't disagree with you TBH, except we did have an outbreak of humour, goodwill and bonhomie over Christmas for, maybe, 12 hours. Youngsy and Henrick's Tongue were the biggest mirth-bringers.

What boils my pish is the petty abuse, stupid name-calling and fatuous arguments. There is some merit in this thread if folk can walk the tightrope between saying:

    1. 'Yer club is deid' at every turn and

    2. 'It's a set-up' whenever there is bad news about Rangers.

I think I put the boot in at Christmas instead of bonhomie to you for some reason. Drink, probably, and having to work all through the Festive Period on Night Shift didn't help.

Oh yes, I remember now, I felt your posts were getting increasingly tedious for some reason, when wit and your normal rational opinion wasn't quite there, and I said you were depriving a village of it's idiot, to which I received a deserved, verbal bollock-kicking.

So, in a moment of bonhomie, a belated Merry Christmas to you,. Your posts are good on here, and rise way above the examples at 1. & 2. above.

  6. I've gave you proof of it you either take it or ignore it, it really doesn't matter to me I know what your lot are like you only believe what you want to.

I see you're getting the gist of things in this thread. This is how it's worked since the start, and I see your frustration creeping through your recent posts, causing you to be dragged into the constant hamster wheel of shit-firing.

The pattern is this.....the P&Ds get wind of something going down. The Green/Whyte shit is a good example. The P&Ds ramp things up on here, offering every view from Tax Experts to Legal Opinion, and GIRFU the Sevconians who disappear like snow off a dyke in July, though a few savvier ones and defiant ones stay on here to offer resistance and/or try to debate when only derision will do.

Then, The Rangers manage somehow to dive through legal loopholes on something (maybe Green/Whyte will dodge bullets and get away with their current carry on). It' s then time for the snow to fall onto the dyke again, the P&Ds disappear like snow off a dyke in July, and the Sevconians dance for joy on the outcome that somehow appears to make them feel better because it GIRFU's the P&Ds. the savvier and defiant P&Ds then stay on here to offer resistance and/or try to debate when only derision will do.

Then there's a plateau, where nothing is happening and out spring the Amigos, a Killie fan, some Tim Malloys who then start to dick wave and post utter crap until the next time the P&Ds get wind of something.

And the hamster wheel keeps turning, whilst the hamsters on it all keep firing shit onto the arguments. Ad infinitum and ad nauseum.

It used to be good on here. Things went awry in August last year when a whole host of deadbeats suddenly appeared.

Fishing rod at the ready. Anyone care to disagree with my analysis?

And aye, Dumbarton fan - lol.

    Edited poor spelling.

  7. Possibly something to do with the fact that it's a dry bus, for a similar price to public transport, to a game mere minutes away. There's no reason why we should even be trying to run a bus to Partick.

Hamilton is also a doddle by public transport and, in fact, since the bus convenors refuse to make stops other than at Dumbarton or at the ground we're visiting it's much easier for myself and presumably others who don't live in the town to make our own way to games. Last time I asked to get off somewhere other than Dumbarton I was first met with a flat "no" and then eventually dropped on the side of the motorway. Small clubs like ours should be bending over backwards to get folk along, but if they're going to be unreasonable then I'll continue to not use them except for distant away games.

And don't get me started on that fucking karaoke machine.

After the Annan game in 2009, when we won the 3rd Division, on the way back, Casey asked our bus driver to pull off the M8 to drop him off in Glasgow. The driver did so, and Casey thanked the bus driver and the club in general on here for saving him a 90 minute round trip from Dumbarton back to Glasgow.

You must have got unlucky with the bus steward that day. Was he a Sonstrust member by any chance? Just asking like.

  8. Owen Ronald (son of Paul) has signed until the end of the season. Strange that Murray felt the need to sign a striker but obviously feels he will be useful to us. In other, more depressing news, Andy Graham is out for 5 weeks. Not good at all but Murray states he's still looking to add to the squad before Saturday.

bad news about Andy Graham. McNiff is good but if he's out on loan, that action alone might not motivate him to return and do a good shift or two. If he's on loan, he isn't part of the strategic plan then, is he?
  9. It really has to be said that this is a genuinely enviable run of form you lot are on.

The way it's going you'll be looking at mid-table, which for any part-time club would be an immense achievement.

I think your main worry will now be bigger clubs sniffing around Murray.

You have a very good point, but let's not forget that the run we're having is extraordinary. Someone else mentioned that normally you'd get a bounce after a new manager comes in, then it all goes back to normal. For some fantastic reason, that's not quite how the current script is going, and most of us are delighted with that.

The point is, until recently we were really struggling, and I really hope we can keep it going, but I'm being cautious too because we could easily slump back again.

Other clubs can sniff all they want but it's maybe too early to start worrying abot losing him. Murray should be safe for a while.

Mind you, if he keeps getting the lads to perform he'll have a great managerial career ahead of him.
