McKenna?

I never understood the fuss. 17 games, 1 goal 0 assists. He’ll never make it at Rangers or in the Premier League.

This League Cup format with an early July start is a farce. Someone at the SPFL needs to sort it out. It’s far too early to start competitive football. Give the players a break and give management time to build a squad.

Shanks penalty saved? Great save or poor penalty? (For future reference.)

How would we know. 50k for Nicky Low is wild surely?
£50 million surely?2 -
He’s obviously trouble. I doubt he’s good enough for the Championship and we already have two strikers like that.

Am currently on my holidays in Turkey, and to be honest, struggling to sleep, so bored I delved back in this thread to when we sacked Lumsden/Hislop and appointed Dick Campbell, and some posts are interesting to say the least, but the thing that is glaringly obvious to me, is that most of us and I include myself in this, is how little we actually know about the game, we absolutely love, oh it's about page 109, where the carnage begins
Looks like 1320 was the man of vision in hose days.3 -
Aye I think players who win lots of headers get too much of a boost in it so I've always planned to weight it more towards touches in the box and headed goals, but never really get the time to spend an hour or so experimenting anymore.
Chris Hamilton doesn’t so much win headers, through sheer determination he doesn’t lose them.1 -

Sunday Post say Nicky Low is staying at Arbroath. Phew. That’s a relief.

His stats must be mental. I’m guessing at or near the top of defensive duels won for a midfielder and not good on passing.

Chris Hamilton off to Dunfermline Iv been told
Good for him to get full time football. If he develops more confidence on the ball he could do well.2 -
Paterson was out on loan to Stirling Albion. He should get a game time with us pre season and League Cup. Then we’ll see.

Colin Hamilton is our left back, 30 year old and been here forever. Runs his own car garage. Definitely wouldn’t go full time now
You’ll be meaning Chris Hamilton. He was a centre half at Hearts and Scotland youth. Had heard Dunfermline were interested in him but pre relegation. Martindale and DC are very close though, Martindale signed Ben Williamson after we had him and I think a lot of that down to Dick
Ben Williamson signed for Livi?0 -
Think since Hilson signed in Jan 2020 he has made 55 appearances in the league. Scored 4 league goals and had 3 assists.
A squad player at best but again like Donnelly, not good enough for this level.
Misplaced loyalty.0 -
Low more because he’s a Morton fan and struggling with the travelling and Henderson is too good to be sitting on the bench at his age. Ricky and Tam too good
I agree. Too good to be sitting on the bench - or playing left wing. He should have played at left back.1 -
Decent fee and wouldn’t stand in his way of going back full time. Heard Henderson is away to Falkirk.
I’d be gutted. He’ll go a long way. A class defender.2 -
You cant beat uncle Dick wanting 5 strikers for one position.
I mean, i keep being told, we cant argue with his track record ( which of course is true )
But yeah 5 strikers, one position is excessive, especially when he doesnt rotate.
We threw this away, how he wins manager of the year is just down to how bad the league is, we have the pick of the best part timers in the country, dominate the league, and old uncle fester wont change it up.
Dont change a winning team i hear you moan, we were not winning, we were throwing points away all over the place.
Guys sat on a bench and have little to no chance of coming on, poor b*****ds moved up here aswell
Seriously? Are you saying we’d have won the league playing Ford and Bakare more?
Dick is a terrific manager and our results have been outstanding. His “weaknesses” are he’s quite defensive (so Bobby gets few minutes because he has no defensive side) and he is over-loyal to established players (eg he could have tried Henderson at left back and he persists with Donnelly). But his strengths are a very solid defence and a strong group who will play for each other and for him. Two sides of the same coin. They have been the basis of our success.1 -
True, he reiterated it twice to Richard Gordon in the Q&A. Thinks he needs 7 players coming in
7 sounds right. 3 leaving, Swankie retired and 3 loans going back.2 -
Antell came from a decent Edinburgh City team.
Gill is coming from a shite Cowdenbeath team that just been relegated.
So not sure how you can imagine him to be better than Antell.
He’ll have had lots of practice saving shots.1 -
I’m well over it. I just thought Inverness appealing was amusing and pathetic. I put it on this thread to avoid the inevitable ICT backlash but the stalkers are still here. Sorry.

“Inverness are "astonished" Devine's red card appeal was unsuccessful. (Press and Journal)”.
Who would have though a last man rugby tackle was a red card? [emoji23]1

What a result! Suddenly I’ve gone from “we desperately need some great signings” to “signings will be the icing on the cake.” I’m so shallow.
I couldn’t watch as I had a friend’s big birthday bash.
How did Shanks do against a PL defence? Is Paterson looking like we should keep him this season? Will Jacobs be a good replacement for wee Hammy? It would be great if Fosu is a success.
