  1. Marcel Oakley   We are delighted to announce the loan signing of 19-year-old right back Marcel Oakley who joins the club on loan from English Championship side Birmingham City.   Coming through Birmingham City’s Academy, then academy manager Kristjaan Speakman said, “Oakley has the flexibility to play centre-back or right-back and is a very robust defender who excels in one-v-one duels in either position. His athletic qualities are improving and in possession as a right back he has the physical and technical qualities to join play in high areas of the pitch."   Marcel scored the only goal of the game in his senior debut for Birmingham in the EFL Cup against Colchester United and made his Championship debut against Reading.   We would like to thank Birmingham City for allowing Marcel to make the move to Gayfield, and Loan Manager Martin O'Connor for his assistance.   We look forward to welcoming Marcel to Arbroath!   Welcome Marcus!   C’mon the Lichties 2039595633_MarcelOakleycopy.thumb.jpg.e9f136ff66c048fbc4234c1f2cc466e7.jpg

In loan until January. That’s not good.
  2. Nicky Low has been my favourite Arbroath player since he joined. I’d like him to stay. I am very disappointed if he’s trying to force a move. I know loyalty is not much in football but we absolutely saved his career and he should honour his contract. That said, we don’t know what’s going on. Please stay Nicky.

  3. Power of selection DC always bangs on about. McKenna in the 10 just not working right now. Also unsure on what it means for Nicky Low. I have no idea but Tait seems like a good footballing player and if we’re gonna get the best out of Scott Allan we need more guys with that in the team

Maybe if we have some players who’ll pass the ball on the ground Hilson might score a few. Maybe.
  4. Wasn’t at last nights game but for me McKenna is the absolute least if our problems and he’s been asked to do a whole lot of heavy lifting with what he’s getting given. We’re not getting forward for any period of time at all and it’s usually him and the striker (that’s usually not even a striker) having to try make use of a punt up the park or into the channel against the whole back 4.

Team overall is just not clicking

Agree. McKenna not playing great, but still chasing, driving and generally giving his all.
  5. Hancock was very good at left back. That’s the best I’ve seen Stewart play at right back and he did ok at centre back. Jacobs was good. We got 90 minutes from Allan and he started to look influential. Ricky Little marshalled his ragtag defence magnificently. Corte showed flashes.

With Hilson up front supported by Bobby we’ve got no out ball, especially if we insist on high balls. Mikey McKenna not himself - he looked angry, like someone told him to get vaccinated.

Bring in the reinforcements, quick. Maybe we need a defender too now.
