I'd take a draw just now to be honest, we have gone up to Arbroath a few times looking for a result and got pumped.
I'd maybe start Ashcroft and Mullen as it's probably not a game for Chalmers or JML.
Reading has been ok but given away a few goals recently and maybe needs a rest, McGinty or Ecripont (got to play him some time) to replace him.
It’s a deal.1 -
or maybe because Alloa dont play him upfront chasing shadows
understand the game Stan, before you critique anyone
Another critic.1 -
BBC stats say we had 6 attempts and 1 on target [emoji38] Could easily have scored 3 or 4 although Hamilton could also have got a couple.
Those stats are just wrong. Apart from the goal their keeper saved a header from Bobby and a corner from McKenna that was going in. Then from memory Fosu hit the bar and the post, Bobby and Tait both had shots blocked, Hammy blootered one over the bar, Allan had his chip cleared when he should have scored and Corfe missed a sitter. There could have been more. To be fair their keeper wasn’t very busy.1 -
As Tattie36 said, it's all about opinions so thought I'd chip in with mine.
Great to get a win, we really needed it. Great ball from Allen for Bobby to score, but Allen (and others) passed the ball to the opposition too often. Had high hopes for Allen to do well with us, maybe needs a little more time to settle in.
Hammy took a shot from outside the box!! Went over the bar though. Only Lichtie to try that. When Oakley and Bobby broke down the wings there was seldom an Arbroath player in the Accies box to cross to.
Thought Fosu did well, having been put on as a striker at the last moment. Thought Isiaka didn't do so well. He was through near the end of the game with a defender chasing him and he took too long to shoot and the defender caught up with him. Other than that he didn't make an impact, neither did Corfe, although he posed for a photo with a young girl fan when warming up.
Though Tait had a good game, lot of energy and got stuck in. Little, O'Brien, Hammy solid at the back, Gaston was never really troubled.
Off the bottom of the league, hope we can kick on from here.
Agree with all of that. Really.1 -
Accepted. I’m often astonished at other fans’ opinions of our players and their performances but if I wasn’t interested I wouldn’t be here.

This maroon on maroon stuff is very tiresome.

Why? Just because you didn’t understand his ability Stan?
Because he plays for Alloa. A goal and an assist! He’s found his level.0 -
Good lad
While we’re chatting, time to ditch the LD photo.0 -
He’s not tho is he Stan? As always your talking pish
Cheers mate0 -
He was better today. Not back to his dominant, man of the match best. He’s still running like he’s carrying an injury.

Is that now officially our lucky kit? I liked it.

Great to get the win. I think we can now say Isiaka doesn’t look very good. I though Fosu (playing out of position) did better. Glimpses of what we can get from Scott Allan - great assist. If he could play against 10 men every week… He’s getting there. Hammy or Ricky mom for me, but a good all round performance for a team with no strikers.
…and to give some credit to Fosu he had one effort miraculously cleared off the line and he hit the bar. In our circumstances maybe he does have a shot at being our centre forward for now.2 -
Scott Stewart has played right wing, right back and centre back. We may as well try him as a striker. [emoji16]

There’s definitely something not quite right with ToB so far this season. Uncharacteristic errors and he’s turned into a complete card magnet.
However, a player like him isn’t going to become a bad player over night. He’s obviously not going to be 100% match fit due to his suspensions and injury so he’ll need a bit more game time to get back up to speed.
I would definitely start him tomorrow, if fit, he can always be subbed off if it’s not going well.
The problem with that is, if we go 1-0 down we’ll lose.0 -
He’s also the best player in the league
Currently he’s not even the second best player in our back four. I don’t know why (injury? Lack of fitness?) but it’s true.1 -
To be fair to this guy he seems to have had some (minimal) game time at a good level and was on trial at Reading this year

We will see
That’s an interesting article and maybe explains a lot. Good luck to him.1 -
England. He's an English player from England.
I am aware of that. Shepherds Bush no less.

The Arbroath global scouting system strikes again. ????????
2 -
Well, if most teams can do it I can only assume it’s not such a big deal competitively.

Also, Hilson is looking sharp and a much improved player - he will get more goals this season.
A giant fingers crossed to that.1 -
Between them your players f***ed up and gifted us a goal. Thank you.

I was disappointed to see that after a comprehensive injury update 2 weeks ago the club put out nothing last week. What’s that all about?
2 -
Anyway, it’s scary that after 2 red cards already this season TOB was risking a third. Don’t know what’s wrong with him. Lacking fitness and pace? Carrying an injury?

Where will we finish this season? Will we sign a striker in January. Important questions to be asked.
