  1. Not sure I live in the same "real world" as you when folk get battered lying on the ground. I would agree today has got folks backs up.
  2. Hard to know, as you keep going on about a loss of earnings they may see it as a success, however, I doubt anyone else will. The companies keep extra cash and the normal folk who keep the local economy going are out of pocket. Their the protest damaged the economy due to people being late for work or it caused no impact and the people shouldn't worry if their train is delayed.
  3. They didn't start the fight, I'm sure they would have been quite happy to get arrested and call it a day. Which would have resulted in 2 arrests and a pretty simple process, now it won't be simple, I'm not sure you can pin the violent reaction of others on the protestors.
  4. I don't agree with the booting. I think anyone who kicks someone on the deck is a complete scumbag. But I'd rather the public took them off the train than waste more police resources on them having to go and remove them. This will have caused a bigger headache for the police than if the police had removed the 2 protestors - they now have large scale public order to deal with and identify at least 10 folk from one clip, that could take months. If you see someone breaking the law call the police rather than take things into your own hands
  5. Today was about slowing the economic activity of the city not highlight greener transportation - please have some knowledge of why they were there before going great guns
  6. Hi Jane try posting in the thread called Nom Nom Nom. /Thread
  7. Well they would have looked pretty daft if everyone had left the platform to get on another tube/bus/train. I personally think their protest today was pretty clumsy and has opened them to a whole new level of criticism however I don't think dragging anyone from the roof of a train and giving them a scheme booting whilst they lay on the floor was a proportionate response.
  8. We are all talking about London? This isn't a city famed for a lack of transport in fact the station is close to bus and DLR routes if you had to avoid the underground.
  9. This was their first day of (failed) action on the underground system. I'm not sure I would agree that lunging for someone stood on top of a train is a good idea, if you push them rather than grab them they will probably die and you'll be in the nick.
  10. Isn't the only thing you need to know before moving to Glasgow - Will I be woken up by a flute band at 8am?
  11. Sounds like a tough gig Which guy in grey? The hard guy in the grey hoodie only gets stuck in whilst his face is covered and the guy can't retaliate. I would say this has been their least effective protest yet, The UK gov say that Brexit moving on (possibly) will allow them to concentrate on helping the environment whilst also starting a space programme.
  12. It's also 0ft above sea level at risk of flooding should water levels rise. What kind of employer docks wages if you're late due to minor transport disruption - maybe I'm lucky but I've never come across that even when I worked on hourly rates.
  13. ER are back in London and have been attempting to shut down London city airport and today have focused on the tube. I get that they are trying to "wake people up" but I stopping people using an environmentally responsible method of travel is probably not the best way to get folk on side. That said I've never been as desperate as some of these folk are to get into work. Battering folk who stop your train is very odd behaviour.
  14. Hopefully one of the tools he gave you was something to find wires and pipes with, if not this thread is destined for gold.
  15. A10, B8, C2, D10, E3 Must get round more of Scotland, I've only lived in Shetland and Aberdour. Football helps get round most of Scotland but I have some pockets I've yet to see.
  16. 8 hours a night usually a little less on a Saturday a little more on a Sunday
  17. As far as I know you must go round at least one "spiral" round about although not sure how it works for those passing their tests in the islands as I doubt many will be big enough for a proper spiral roundabout.
  18. Probably better just saying the North East of England
  19. I was more talking about the over 65 contingent, perhaps when P&B stops being something to use to kill time at work folk stop using it
  20. Sounds great, I wish I was as organised. I've not made bread since the bad weather.
