  1. Officials at clubs have a responsibility to keep reasonably up to date with what's going on. If they can't see that resigning from the SJFA and joining the new WoSFL is the only way into the pyramid then they're either gullible or disingenuous.
  2. Airdrie fan in Montrose Slightly harder to enter was the ground Goodbye head, said body
  3. A fair number in the LL don't represent a community. And none of them are likely to replace Brechin next season.
  4. He didn't say that to be fair. He asked how they represent their community in a way that clubs currently in the HL/LL don't.
  5. So Brechin managed to accumulate fewer points in an entire season than Morton conceded goals in one half of one game.
  6. Interesting. 56 seems a bit low for probably getting 4th place in L1. Montrose will hit 56 if they pick up 50% of their remaining points. Given that their form for the season is collecting 53% of available points but any form stretching back that doesn't include their horrendous opening 7 games would be much higher. Airdrie and East Fife are also collecting points at a rate higher than 50%. 56 might do it if one of the three sides have a poorer than form last quarter but I wouldn't bet on that right now.
  7. True. I'm not entirely clear on how the deflection and 'unnaturally bigger' rules play off against each other.
  8. New rules say it doesn't matter if it's accidental or not.
  9. Easy. If numbers dictate more than one league and new members don't want to have conferences then any clubs moving from within the current structure move to the same tier they currently sit in (e.g. SoSFL in at tier 6, a tier 7 EoSFL club in at tier 7). The remaining places are filled by West Region Juniors according to finishing position this season. All the others go in at the bottom. Edit: Any current East Region Juniors go in at the same position as the equivalent positioned club in the West.
  10. Watched the highlights. Two stonewall penalties for handball. What a peach Waldo's goal straight from the corner is.
  11. I'd be pretty wary of choosing a running mate purely to try and beat Trump over the head with progressivism. Choosing a woman of colour isn't a bad idea in the slightest but they absolutely should let that decision speak for itself.
  12. The more important question regarding regionalisation really is how many clubs play in the 'national' leagues, as ABHAS goes on to say. Country A has tier one of 20 clubs and regionises at tier 2. Country B has two national leagues of 10 and then regionalises at tier 3. From the clubs point of view, regionlisation comes in at the same point. Only the top 20 clubs play in a national league, regardless of how many tiers there are.
  13. What would be more shocking? Phil coming out in favour of independence or posting something remotely funny?
  14. Unconfirmed reports that Annie Wells' head has just been detected overtaking the Voyager space probe.
  15. Bloody Canadians. Crossing the Atlantic, coming over here, stealing our fish.
  16. I'm amazed the EU didn't push for a fishing grounds agreement with Canada...... amazed.
  17. Must be some puggy Darvel have in that social club.
  18. C'mon Stranraer. Play like that 78th minute on Saturday for the full 90 please.
  19. How nice would a white shirt with a quarter of black and gold checks look!
  20. I was only counting ones where the shirts changed. Between 1932 and 1947 it looks like we kept the same shirts and shorts and only changed the socks.
  21. Nope Faither is quite right, mostly black and a differing shade of yellow. My "tap" drawer has 50 Shades o yelly! and a couple with gold. Controversial new development - they're both wrong. Took a quick tally over at Historical Football kits and by my count we've had 22 unique shirts that are not black and gold stripes (including the very early green and white hoops and all navy blue numbers) and 22 that are. So dead heat. Of course, given that we played in black and gold stripes solidly from 1922 up until 1970, the black and gold stripes are well ahead in terms of number of years.
  22. Agreed. I thought Denholm had a great game yesterday. Also think we could be a bit more cautious at the back even if that sacrifices our ability to play out from the back.
  23. It was a strand of the thread specifically talking about the performance of the national team. You're complaining that this conversation is pulling the thread off topic and you've decided the best way to do that is to jump into that conversation without the full context and pull it in yet another direction.
