  1. Whatever number which is less than the number of deaths caused a gigantic depression that will see people lose jobs and be pushed into poverty. Whatever number of deaths which is less than those caused by people not seeking medical help and having procedures cancelled. Whatever number of deaths which is less than the number of people who commit suicide due to the mental health issues caused by a recession and/or lockdown. There’s parallels between this and the old government surveillance/CCTV argument. Some people will argue in favour of the government being able to monitor every WhatsApp conversation you have or having CCTV plastered on every street corner - because after all it might result in less crime or terrorist activities being committed eh? When really any reasonable person will tell you that a small drop in crime is not worth living in a society where there’s no privacy and your every move/conversation is monitored. What you’re saying in regards to having no deaths follows a similar train of thought. We obviously need to be careful about when and how we ease restrictions but the idea that we should continue tanking everything until there’s none is fucking bonkers.
  2. With that train of thought we would all be in lockdown for the next 12+ months until everyone at risk is vaccinated. In fact with that train of thought we’d all be fucking housebound coronavirus or no coronavirus. Should we just ban all road traffic because it’s not really necessary and some people die from it? f**k sake that might be the stupidest post I’ve ever read.
  3. Especially whatever manager they had trying to shoe-horn all their best central midfielders into the starting XI. A flat midfield 4 consisting entirely of centre mids isn’t gonna do much for you.
  4. It will be - as is said in the post you quoted. I don’t think there’s much wrong with the home kit - 90% of kits especially at this level will be a standard template. It’s plain but inoffensive and will look fine as long as it’s paired with black shorts.
  5. I wouldn’t mind wearing one while going shopping or whatever but I’ve no idea how most people can be expected to get their hands on one especially when even the hospitals are struggling to get enough. f**k paying £10 for a flimsy face mask off eBay that will probably fall to pieces after one use.
  6. Tifo football is great. It isn’t just PL-centric nonsense either, get the odd wee video on Scottish football too.
  7. Surprised more isn’t being made our (Scotland’s) paltry testing numbers. 1,205 puts us at 2.8% of the UK’s total for yesterday - can say goodbye to easing any restrictions with numbers like that.
  8. How many fucking times are you going to post the exact same line?
  9. Fair point. I hadn’t even considered the difference in prize money. 12th in the chain gets double what 13th does. These reconstruction talks will just be a huge waste of time.
  10. I’d imagine that would pass the Leagues 1+2 threshold as the only clubs you could see having a problem with it are Clyde, Peterhead and Forfar (I’d have assumed Cove as well but apparently not). I could see it passing the Premiership and Championship votes if it’s permanent. But if it’s just for a season or two before reverting to 12-10-10-10 there’s no chance. Alloa, Arboath, Queen of the South, Hamilton and others won’t be voting for leagues with with a huge number of relegation places. You could be looking at 4 Premiership teams going down and 6 Championship in one season depending how play-offs go. All it takes is an even mediocre season and you’re in the shit.
  11. Going at a much fast speed than everyone else in that situation isn’t advisable, no, but no one mentioned speed.
  12. Actually, maybe we should all take a leaf out of @D.A.F.C’s book. From now on I will avoid using traffic lights because it’s far too dangerous to assume that another driver isn’t going to run a red light and crash into me x
  13. It's really dangerous, they're assuming that nobody wants to change lanes. If the traffic is moving then wait. If you hit a motorcyclist while changing lanes it’s likely your fault for not checking your fucking mirrors.
  14. Made a right balls-up of that one - could’ve sworn I read the other guy’s name somewhere. Apologies.
  15. I’m reasonably techy but I’ve never heard that word being used in regards to an email. Unless it’s just a fancy name for a junk folder.
  16. I’ve never in my life heard of “quarantining” in regards to an email.
  17. Increased use of the loan system and/or more restrictions on squad sizes are much better solutions to the stockpiling. It’s not just a Scotland problem to be fair, just need to look at the number of players Chelsea send out on loan every season (or used to before they were forced to actually give some of them a chance - and hey presto it actually worked out okay for them). Unfortunately the SFA seem keen for more centralisation of this rather than less, with the ridiculous entry requirements clubs need to meet before their youth teams can compete at or near the highest level.
  18. https://ayrunitedmedia.co.uk/goal-of-the-season McCowan away at Morton or Moore away to Dunfermline for me. I don’t think the video does McCowan’s goal proper justice, I remember it looking like a thundercunt out the blue from the other end of the pitch. Either that or I was more drunk than I thought.
  19. Fucking hell. Imagine losing the heid on the TV and Film section of Pie and Bovril. He must just look for “Rangers” in the search bar every night.
  20. Surely after last week the emergency services shouldn’t be congregating for the clapping anyway? All it does is encourage the morons to join in.
  21. f**k off. The obvious solution for youth players not getting competitive football is for the big clubs to, y’know, stop stockpiling any half decent youth player in the country and let them sign for a club where they’ll actually have a chance of breaking through.
  22. I’m more optimistic - I think the season being cut short is likely to lead to more players staying where they are. What Premiership teams would be willing to guarantee him a start every game? Hamilton, Livingston and maybe St Mirren? And Livingston seem to have an abundance of midfielders already.
  23. He had a very nice assist in the abandoned Arbroath game. I don’t think he really played enough to write him off.
