  1. Has there been any indication of who the fourth club to vote no (or not vote yes) in L1/L2 was? So far I’ve only seen confirmation of Falkirk, East Fife and Stranraer.
  2. @Highlandmagyar 2nd Tier falling over himself on the Ayr thread to tell us all how wound up we are while being adamant he’s absolutely 100% definitely not the one who’s wound up. You love to see it.
  3. It’s quite incredible the size of the Ayr chip that sits on the shoulder of the perma-seething @Hammer Jag.
  4. Let me be very clear = Let me be absolutely vague About 100% of the time it’s followed by a response that doesn’t actually answer the question at hand.
  5. Inspired by Ludo/Speroni I decided to look through Cameron’s tweets to see what all the fuss was about. Get the impression he feels like his and other chairmen’s hands have been forced to vote yes. The more it goes on the more he seems to hint that the SPFL are presenting this as a “take it or leave it” option and have scarcely bothered their arse contemplating other possibilities. All of which I’m sure would come as a surprise to absolutely no one if true.
  6. I mean, it doesn’t make your hanging off his every word and posting pages worth of tweets on here any better.
  7. Not sure what’s worse - @rb123!’s sudden intense hatred towards Dundee or @Speroni*1’s sudden obsession with Lachlan Cameron’s twitter feed. A thrilling read either way.
  8. This will be the next Record exclusive given all their previous hot-takes on the subject appear to have been lifted straight from this thread.
  9. Yeah, I’m not saying we can commit to games being on, I’m saying give an advance payment of the prize money and give it a bit of time to see if it’s possible.
  10. Fair points, and these are some of the things that should be getting looked into - rather than railroading through the end of the season when no one has a clue what the script will be this time next week.
  11. Why do we have to gub this season to preserve next? It is far fairer to give this season a change at playing out, then if it affects next season at least everyone knows from the start. Too many of our fans are happy with this because we’re one of the clubs who aren’t hugely disadvantaged by it. Can you imagine though if we were 2 points from safety, with a game in hand and 9 games left to play and were told we were being relegated? Or if we were 1 point behind the league leaders (with a vastly superior goal difference) with 8 games to go and were told “that’s it, first place is going up but you aren’t”. We’d - rightly - be fucking fuming. Season tickets have already been bought and that makes up the vast majority of our home crowd. There’s also the opportunity for clubs to stream their games - something that I know plenty of us would be willing to pay for, fans could be asked to donate their gate money (I’ve seen plenty on here saying they’d do so). Couple that with not having any policing or stewarding costs. It’s far from ideal, but the SPFL should be giving out an advance payment of prize money (they’re currently sitting on £8 million - effectively bribing clubs to vote for this). It would give everyone a bit more time to see what’s actually going to happen and to investigate ways of finishing the season without fans at games. Calling it at the beginning of April is a knee-jerk reaction because the SPFL don’t want anything interrupting their TV deal for next season.
  12. Football clubs aren’t charities. I wouldn’t do it personally but if someone is skint and desperate for the money they’re entitled to ask for it back.
  13. So the SPFL are sitting on £8 million of prize money. Why can’t they just pay everyone the minimum amount of prize money they’d get based on the lowest league position they’re guaranteed to finish? Instead they’re trying to railroad this through when the reality is no one has a clue what will be happening in 2/3 weeks time.
  14. I’m not missing anything, you’re coming up with a ludicrous reason that you claim will bring this all crashing down. There is nothing to stop a club paying someone in admin for a few hours work of printing off contracts. It’s a fucking ridiculous argument against trying play out the season when possible.
  15. The vast majority of clubs use a standard template for contracts provided by the SPFL, so I don’t imagine a lot of work goes into drafting it up. There’s also nothing to stop people from doing it at home, things can be signed, scanned and sent via email. It‘s hardly an insurmountable problem and to suggest that’s where this would all fall down is a bit ridiculous.
  16. Caley could be against it if they think the had a very small chance at the title (which I don’t think was ever happening), or even just because it denies them a play-off place. After that you could also have Dunfermline, Arbroath and maybe even Morton pissed off that they can’t have a go at the play-offs. It would be nice if clubs approached this more on the basis of what’s the “right” thing to do (which personally I think is to give every chance to finishing the season when possible) rather than just what it means for them in terms of promotion or relegation. But that’s clearly not going to happen for the overwhelming majority.
  17. This might be the most ridiculous and petty point I’ve seen raised in this topic yet.
  18. Why is completing the league not an option? It can be delayed by however many weeks or months is necessary. It’s a completely knee-jerk reaction doing this when we’re only 2 weeks into a lockdown, especially after UEFA’s statement yesterday and FIFA announcing they’ll be moving the registration windows for players. And before anyone comes back talking about prize money, ending the season now would likely forgo the remaining TV and sponsorship payments (why would they pay up for games that never happened?), so any prize money paid out off the back of calling the season as it is would be heavily diluted.
  19. This is a fucking heap of shite to be honest and I’m disappointed we’ll be voting for it.
  20. The main stand at Falkirk is similar to the JHS stand at Firhill in that it’s stupidly big. Would have made far more sense to have 4 smaller stands.
  21. Ha, clearly I’m not the only one who thinks so. I’d have more sympathy for the points you were making if you managed to make them without the condescending Poundland VT act you’ve developed.
  22. I’m sure @Skyline Drifter is raising some valid points but his attitude towards all this from day 1 gives me the impression he’s incredibly keen for the season to be ended to save Queen of the South from being relegated.
