If raising taxes / increasing borrowing / making pension means tested are not desirable options then raising the pension age is pretty much inevitable if medical science continues to ensure people live significantly longer than was previously the norm.

Bit harsh on the South East Section? It’s just the usual wind up fans do to each other during games but I take your point. I say fair play to them trying to create an atmosphere.
It just so happens Love Will Tear Us Apart is one of my favourite songs so maybe I’m biaised on this one.

I do not come onto a Dundee v Hearts thread to read a well considered post! I actually think it takes a bit away from the game when you see defenders having to defend in their box with their hands behind their back.
In fairness our defending leading to the penalty was not too clever either.

I have to agree with the criticism of the defence. Although Shankland is a class act he’s not Messi and should not be waltzing through the centre of our defence like he did yesterday.
At the other end Robinson should have scored with his header. The fact he didn’t even get it on target was incredibly poor.

Yeh, roughly that area. I get the fact that fans get frustrated with game management, especially with what has happened this season, but I think Doc has already earned our full support at the games.

@Fifespud as a Main Stand resident did you hear the boy that was going berserk at Docherty after Hearts scored their third goal? I think his issue was the lack of subs Docherty used.

I sure hope you’re right WJ. Thinking logically about it I think Doc should continue his managerial journey with Dundee. All going well for him, in a couple of years time he should easily be able to land a far bigger and better job than Aberdeen if he wanted.

The Aberdeen board obviously had a fair idea immediately after last night’s game what was going to happen to Robson. Anyone know if any members of the Aberdeen board spoke to Nelms after the game? I think you can all guess my worry here.

With regards to the theory Hibs will just become a feeder club - does that theory not ignore the fact that any Hibs player would have to agree to be sold to Bournemouth? A Hibs player on a 2 year deal would still be free to refuse such a move and wait on a bigger club coming in with a better deal or simply remain at Hibs.
I understand Hibs may end up with more loan player from Bournemouth but if they are not as good as the players already at Easter Road presumably they will not get significant game time.

Just shows you how far we’ve progressed that , despite new players in the squad, we are slightly disappointed at only getting a draw away from home to the only remaining Premiership New Firm side………..

It would appear the value of the aid being withheld is very significant. In 2022 USA, Germany, EU and Sweden contributed 61% of UNRWA’s funding total of $1.2 billion.
There were no figures in the article regarding how much some of the other richest nations, such as Australia, China, Japan, Russia and the oil states contribute. Will they pick up the slack in the meantime?

Sorry, I’m not sure I understand.
The UK government predominately sells bonds to the market, therefore the money is ultimately owed to the institutions that buy the gilts.
It is important to keep government debt manageable. Much like private debt the more the UK borrows the more it will have to pay each year in interest payments. I think it’s currently roughly £100 billion ish in annul interest payments. To put that in perspective I think a little more is spent on education and roughly half is spent on defence.
It also become a significant problem if a government is assessed as having borrowed too much as this will negatively affect the country’s credit rating making future borrowing more difficult and expensive.
