As much as it's nice to hear him publicly agreeing with what the fans have been saying for a while the chances of us getting in a couple of players that will provide pace and creativity in this window without the board splashing cash in an out of character way seems very unlikely. That doesn't seem like a void in the team that can be filled by just one or two players anyway(especially if it's young loan players from down south) , rather a wholesale change in the squad which we'd be lucky to see happen in two full windows not about 10 days.

Motherwell have conceded more goals than us this season and our defence hasn't been great so not sure how well drilled they must be. Hard to tell how this will go. You normally give us at least one scudding a season. Not normally at Pittodrie to be fair.

Naismith started in the last two games for Scotland and was pretty solid in both which is enough to be better than Mcburnie has ever been for the national side. I think Mcburnie has maybe been ok in a couple of games at best for Scotland and poor in the rest. Griffiths, Burke and Martin have at least managed to rise above the low level Mcburnie has performed at.

Off the top of my head Naismith, Griffiths, Martin and even Burke have all performed better without always even being good for Scotland than Mcburnie has. Clearly going by club form none of these would be considered better players than Mcburnie but whether it's attitude or being ill suited to the formation/style of play Scotland uses something seems to be stopping him from getting close to replicating his Sheff Utd or Swansea form. Hopefully he comes good but the idea of not using his previous form for the national team as a factor in whether he should be picked or not seems unwise.

Aye imagine judging who should play for Scotland based on how well they play for Scotland. Let's keep picking him even though there's other older or less talented players who regularly play better for the national side and also don't get caught saying they can't be arsed.

I see Cammie Smith is on trial at Dundalk. Surely he could find another club in the championship no bother? Then again maybe Dundalk can offer decent wages compared to some of the smaller championship sides.
