  1. Not going to the game so might be a daft idea....but might be nice to start a "One Liam Miller" chant in the 43rd minute of today's match. Show we really are Glasgow's good c*nts.
  2. That was Joe Kinnear as Newcastle manager "scouting" Shane Ferguson. Who was on loan at Birmingham (i think) from....Newcastle. Not as good as thinking Yohan Cabaye's name was Yohan Kebab though.
  3. Leeds are an absolute basket-case of a club and Liam should stay well, well away from them.
  4. One thing about Sammon that might sway him one way or another is that I'm pretty sure I seen him walking about town with his partner and a wee baby (happy to be proven wrong on that one). Might work well for us if he's looking for somewhere to settle for family reasons?
  5. Ffs Celtic vs Brechin first up?! Sureyl the BBC showing highlights of their own live game (Aberdeen vs St Mirren) - which was a cracking game - first up? Or show the first highland league team to get into the last 16 and the only real shock in the round? Or the Lanarkshire derby? Talking about "a bigger mismatch you couldnt imagine" between the sides as well. Yes you could. Brechin are in the Championship ffs. There is 2 whole leagues full of teams where the gulf could be bigger on paper, not even including the highland/lowland teams they could have faced. Amateur pish just pandering to the ugly sisters as per usual.
  6. Having strict rules on players, coaches, directors, etc. gambling on football anywhere on the planet yet the whole league system and the national cup competition being sponsored by betting companies. Or not being able to find a sponsor for the national cup competition until the semi-finals!
  7. We have decent options in Lindsay, McKenna, Hendry, McCrorie, Cooper and Souttar. The problem we have is that Strachan point blank refused to give a young centre back a chance. Time to give some (or all) of these guys a good 4 or 5 friendly matches and see what they are made of, regardless of how many games they've played at senior level. We have Tierney, Robertson and Paterson as full backs for the foreseeable future. Get a decent young partnership up and running and we could have a settled back 4 for the next 3 or 4 campaigns.
  8. Im sorry but top-flight professional footballers in any country should be wanting to get on the ball and have the basic skill set to pass it. No?
  9. Yesterday was the first game Ive made it to this season (normally work Saturdays) and I was shocked at how little responsibility our defenders took on the ball. Not once did someone offer a short option to Cerny at goal kicks, they all just ran up the park and turned their backs on it. Has this been happening all season?
  10. The only positive thing about Scottish journos is that none of them are Garth Crooks. He is complete bellend
  11. BBC (i know) have it as a Shaughnessy foul on Nisbet. No? Its literally the only thing they've said on the game apart from the goals. In an all premiership tie between 2 top 6 teams in the last 16 of a national cup competition...
  12. Sanmi Odelusi has just been released by Wigan. A 6ft striker/winger recently released by a decent English club with limited experience...has all the hallmarks of an Archie type signing.
  13. Its nothing to do with that though is it? Team lacks quality? - Cesnauskis is their captain ffs. Having not watched any of the games, I would doubt many, if any, would get a game for a team in the Scottish Premiership Needs investment? - I don't know Trakai's finances but would hazard a guess that it is, at best, similar to St Johnstone's. Small club? - UEFA rank St Johnstone 215th, Trakai 404th. St Johnstone are officially a bigger club/team. We (Scottish clubs) need to stop making piss poor excuses like that. We continuously get outplayed technically and out-thought tactically because managers and players dont adapt to suit European football.
  14. Well, no. You mean utter obscurity like Robert Snodgrass, Graham Dorrans, Ryan Fraser, Christophe Berra, Charlie Adam, David Marshall, etc.? Stop getting yer knickers in a twist just cause Fraser Fyvie turned out to be shite.
  15. Jason Cummings, a player woefully unproven in the Scottish Premiership, just went to the Championship down south for a report £1million. Even taking into account strikers tend to cost more than defenders, £250k-£350k for a player the same age, who has just been named in the league TOTY, is a farce.
  16. Because the Daily Record, Mirror, S*n, etc. are essentially click-bait journalism. Putting that he's a Celtic fan will be seen as a way to boost readership cause most of their readers will view it as "one of our own" or "one of them". Embarrassing all round.
  17. Would be a decent signing imo. Thought for a while we should be in the market for young Scottish players from smaller, lower league clubs.
  18. Lindsay to The Tribute Act is surely a non-starter? He's a big Celtic fan and has already stated his desire to go down south. Would be gobsmacked if he went there.
  19. Whats Archie's contract like? How much compo would we be entitled to? If we get a fair bit, and a decent value for Lindsay, I'd happily push the boat out for Jack Ross
  20. What are the chances McCarthy will have a prominent role in the squad next season? I would have assumed that the plan would be to send him out on loan either to the Championship or top end League 1 but if he's seen as a squad player for next season, maybe Welsh has seen that and thought his game time will be limited with Banzo/Barton/Osman/Edwards/McCarthy/Fraser(maybe) and him all competing for 3 places? Tbh if we want to be a consistent top 6 side like St J, we need upgrades on a few of our players across the squad. IMO Welsh sadly falls into that category. Decent player at this level, but no more than that and I'd be more than happy if his place in the squad gets taken up by someone like McCarthy.
  21. Don't know about anyone else, but seeing that list of potential replacements for Hartley made me realise even more how lucky we are to have Archie and Shaggy. I'd consider us and Dundee to be fairly similar sized clubs (if anything, they would be a slightly bigger club with a much bigger budget), so those names would likely be the same names linked with us if Archie left. A horrendous list of the usual inept managers that. Lets just hope Archie stays for the foreseeable future!
  22. Seem to remember him being very highly rated at Preston and a big fuss being made about which Ireland he chose. Div Wilson finally getting the loan spell he badly needs?
  23. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/36997577 This might just take the biscuit. Minute by minute analysis of Joey "the savior of Scottish football" Barton's debut. It's mind-boggling that the beeb can't find something better to write about and think anyone in their right minds would give a flying f*ck.
