  1. Only having six players having played 10 or more games at 24 is a shocking stat. Some players are reaching their peak by that point. We should have double that with the amount of caps by that age. As long as they are good enough, we should have players in the squad at 19, 20 getting games here and there to gain experience so by the time they get to 22, 23 they can really kick on. McGinn, McGregor, Fraser, Souttar, Griffiths should all have way more caps than they currently have, and a lot of that is to do with managers not trusting them until they are much older. We should start having more faith in our youth players, thats the point im making. Where is the harm in getting players like Gilmour, Mikey Johnson, Hornby or one of the younger keepers involved against a team like San Marino?
  2. Tom McIntyre getting games for Reading in the Championship. 20 years old and keeping some good, experienced guys out of the team. Could be promising.
  3. We need to move away from this idea that players need 100 odd games and be 23 or 24 before having them in the squad. If they are better than what we have get them in. Teams far better than us bring players in early.
  4. Aye. But lets be honest, her calling it a Bank Holiday was the least worst thing about that closing comment. Tragically bad. Almost feel bad for her.
  5. Its September weekend in Glasgow so those of us who actually have jobs are off on Monday. I assume theyve just assumed its a Bank Holiday.
  6. They desperately need to get someone with actual presenting experience covering the games. Eilidh Barbour would be a massive improvement for a start.
  7. As much as I love Dools, got to agree with you. Theres nothing worse than hearing ex old firm players rabbiting on week after week about their old team while being employed by a direct rival, Kris Boyd being the first that springs to mind. If its in the build up to a Thistle-Ayr game, fair enough. Other than that he shouldnt really be making comments on or about Thistle anymore imo....sadly.
  8. Nah, it would be more something like: "Today we are at the AGM of Partick, a club who's promotion campaign from the Tunnock's Irn Bru Division One has got off to a great start, spearheaded by ex-Rangers man Kenny Miller. The Jags are still reeling from the shock resignation of ex-Celtic man Gary Caldwell last week, especially after last night's 6-0 hammering in the Scottish Cup 3rd round match against defending champions, Celtic, under the guidance of ex-Gers player Ian McCall. And we are about to get underway here at Fir Park, over to Partick Thistle chairman, ex-Celtic striker Gerry Britton."
  9. Ah, fair enough. Always had in my head he was meant to be temporary but just decided to give the job to himself.
  10. Correct me if I'm wrong, but did Levein not originally take charge on a temporary basis to steady the ship after Cathro until you found a new manager and let Levein move back upstairs to do the job he was brought in to do? Or have I totally misinterpreted something? Because, if so, it makes the Levein situation even more mond boggling.
  11. Sponsored by the Grosvener in Ashton Lane. Offering our very own brand of drama, thriller, horror and comedy throughout a season.
  12. Imagine telling a Partick Thistle fan 2 or 3 years ago that Kevin Nisbet would be Dunfermline's main striker and Pars fans would be happy with it. We'd have had to assume your decline had ended up in the lower reaches of the seaside leagues again. All the attempted points scoring in the world wont change the fact players and managers can improve and teams (not unlile yourselves) can regress. Stop being bitter just cause our board had the balls to sack our shambles of a manager and yours apparently do not.
  13. A few of my dads mates were/are big Ayr fans so always had a bit of a soft spot for you lot. Hope the whole compensation thing gets sorted amicably for both teams and you lot go on and pump the Dundee teams to the title (unless by some miracle McCall turns our rabble into promotion/title contenders of course). If nothing else, would be a shame for McCall's legacy to be tarnished by the whole thing getting drawn out and messy. Anyway, best of luck for the rest of the season.
  14. Aye, St Mirren have a fine recent track record of hiring managerial icons such as Tommy Craig, Alex Rae and Alan Stubbs.
  15. I would say its more an indication of how much money the tribute act have spunked on their squad to ensure they finish second every year rather than tinpot.
  16. I for one an shocked, shocked i tell you, to discover that a team coached by muppets like Barry Ferguson and Bob Malcolm are dreadful. Both are idiots that would be out of their intellectual depth taking the bins out.
  17. Can we please stop biting to these wanks? This page is a seething mess at the best of times without engaging with these third division nonentities about the exploits of David fucking Goodwillie. Like a hyper pain-in-the-arse wean, they will eventually tire themselves out and go back down to where they came from.
  18. Always thought/feared John Hughes would end up at Firhill one day. Hopefully not. I like Craigan, but he isnt what we need right now. Cant afford to take a risk with an inexperienced manager. John Robertson would be the "stauner for days" option as he is the best manager in the league imo, but highly doubt we could afford him or if he'd want to come. Ian McCall or Danny Lennon would be safe shouts. Wouldn't be against Stuart McCall either. McIntyre, Adams, Houston, Gemmill etc. can absolutely do one.
  19. Not sure whats worse, A) the idea of Barry fucking Ferguson as a manager B) using "o yiz" in a written sentence C) calling him Baz D) a Kelty fan popping up on a Championship thread Answer: absolutely option A. Off you pop.
  20. I hate myself for it, but we are reaching the stage that a not-so insignificant part of me is wanting a Pars win just so we see that absolute fraud punted pronto and then we can get on with salvaging this season from being a complete disaster.
  21. The thing I'm looking forward to this season is the collective heads gone from the glasgow media *when* Oor Gary gets the sack
  22. Marshall - Tierney McKenna Cooper Robertson - McTominay McGregor - Forrest Christie Fraser - Griffiths
