  1. Id take him in a heartbeat. Clearly talented player who has lost his way a bit, right up McCall's street.
  2. Whats your thoughts on Ian Harkes? Was quite impressed by him Tuesday night and theres certainly a player there, but you hardly ever seemed to go through him.
  3. Sergio Busquets wears Scott McTominay pyjamas. In all seriousness though, he is turning into some player.
  4. At Tannadice tonight. Can confirm that the Thistle da phenomenon is not restricted to Firhill.
  5. Its staggering that he is a Champions League ref. He's fucking terrible.
  6. I think thats a general problem with football "analysts" in general, not just Dodds. They make absolutely no effort to educate those watching, instead they go on about confidence, conviction and other buzzwords which mean they dont have to do their actual jobs. Striker balloons the ball over the bar from 10 yards out - "he's not hit that with any confidence". Utter shite. What about the strikers body position? Timing of the shot? Is his standing foot planted correctly? Etc. They should be talking as if they taking a coaching session rather than just saying what they, and everyone watching, can clearly see. Always find athletics and snooker commentators/analysts are good for this. Walk away feeling youve learned something.
  7. Whats the deal with Kerr continuing to play? Cant think of too many recent examples of player managers being good in both roles. Given your smallish squad, how big a loss would Kerr be as a player?
  8. As others have said, Thistle promoted an experienced player to manager twice in a row (Archibald and McNamara), both of who were fundamental in us winning promotion, staying there for 5 years and finishing top 6.
  9. After being convinced by his modest and humble interview during the week, I think it's safe to say we should give a huge amount of thanks to Gary Caldwell for laying the groundwork for today's comeback... NAT!!
  10. Just listening to the Caldwell interview on Sportsound. Tell you what, must have been some fucking presentation for that egotiarical twat to get through an interview for the managers job. Surely that interview is the final nail in his managerial coffin.
  11. Exactly this. Also, he's actually went back and counted, what a gimp. I imagine it was the equivalent of when someone who everyone dislikes at work leaves but you still feel compelled to write "best of luck" on the leaving cars.
  12. Naw he didny! In fact, its Caldwell. He definitely did. The mans lack of self awareness is staggering.
  13. Can someone summaries the main claims from Caldwell? Wont get a chance to listen anytime soon.
  14. Three on permanent bye byes - Hall, Harkins, De Vita Out on loan to a QP or the likes - Mansell
  15. Just needs to work til January when McCall can get rid of Caldwell's dross and bring in some functioning attacking footballers.
  16. McLaughlin Forrest Findlay Devlin Taylor Christie McTominay Armstrong Fraser Russell Shankland Forrest basically told to play as high as possible but help defensively if needed. Give Robertson the night off.
  17. Totally agree. Did Walter Smith not do similar and leave the shouting and balling to his assistant (McCoist)? I would imagine sitting up in the stands would give a better view to make any tactical tweaks at half time.
  18. A central defender who cant do contact defending and who thinks he's some beckenbaueresqe ball playing centre back cause he takes 4 or 5 touches before lumping it aimlessly up the pitch. I also cant trust a centre back in his mid 30s with a hairband.
  19. Having a conversation at work about lasts nights game, and one of the topics was Mikey Devlin's place in the team/squad. Not fishing, genuinely want to known out of curiousity, if you guys have everyone fit, does Devlin make your strongest XI? And would he get a game ahead of Considine? Cheers.
  20. I am not over 30, never mind 50! But i think it kind of sums up my thinking on him. Best weve had since ive been a fan but imo he is a good striker considered great because we've not really had any genuinely great strikers for decades.
  21. Totally agree. I'd class Doolan in the average to fairly good striker category who once or twice a season would go on superb runs of scoring, rather a great striker who would have a few barren runs each year. Still some boy though.
  22. Although rightfully a club legend, Kris Doolan wasnt/isnt that good a striker and is only fanned over so much because of his longevity, the abject standard of most of our other strikers the past decade and the fact he is an all round good guy. Unbelievable first touch mind.
