We didnt play well tonight, but lets not over react. Here's my view: Marshall - some great saves. Solid keeper. 8 O'Donnell - clearly out his depth at international level. We need Tiernay back asap, or someone to push through youth level at right back. 4 Mulgrew - i'm not a Mulgrew fan, but he was okay tonight. Nothing great. Nothing shit. Took a bit of responsibility in the final few minutes on the ball. 6 Cooper - should have debuted ages ago. I quite liked the look of him against a tough opponent. 6 Robertson - doesnt do the things he does well for Liverpool in a Scotland shirt. Sloppy in possession. Wasnt given space to run into. 5 McTominay - like him as a player. Sloppy now and again but there far too much room between him and the rest of the midfield, not his fault. 6 McGregor - i'm a big fan, but he was awful tonight. 4 McGinn - goal apart, he was anonymous. Far too far forward whenever we had the ball, didnt get involved in play. Complete passenger. 5 Forrest - didnt receive the ball anywhere near enough. Didnt get into the game. 5 Fraser - most threatening attacking player, just didnt get involved enough. Worked hard as well. 6 McBurnie - thought he did okay considering the service he was given. Worked hard. Doesnt look much of a goal threat but i find it hard to criticise him tonight. 5 Of the subs, Ryan Christie looked great. Needa to start Monday.

I see our first team is taking part in this City of Glasgow cup with Clyde, QP and the Old Firm colt teams. Its a league format, so an extra 8 games for the cup apparently. I get we'll likely mostly play guys who have been on the fringes and need a run out, but this idea sounds woeful. If we are in promotion contention, or relegation fight for that matter, these extra games could massively impact our season. Not even just in terms of match time and risk of injury, but in the time needed to prepare and recover reducing training time. A shite idea imo with the sole purpose of giving the beaks 2 extra Old Firm games to chug themselves over, even if it is the colt teams.

The main issue i have from recent performances is, after almost a year in charge, I have no idea what type of team we are trying to be under Caldwell. We dont have the pace to play on the counter attack. We dont have a good enough defence to sit in and be hard to beat. We dont have the creativity in the middle of the park to play an attacking, passing game. We dont even have a target man striker to hit it long and get crosses in to. In my opinion we are very much a nothing team at the minute and promotion, which we have been told constantly is the aim of this season, seems absolutely miles beyond this squad of players.
