  1. Too sensible a post for here. Ken but I’m sick of Joe Cardle’s name being mentioned whenever we need a new manager. Don’t get me wrong, guys a legend but he’s not what we need.
  2. What’s the fascination with Joe Cardle coming with Kevin Thomson. KT has his own assistant, I want a coaching set up of guys who’ve worked together not a few randoms chucked together like we’ve had for the last 4/5 years.
  3. For me personally the four I'm thinking of at the moment are Petrie, Kevin Thomson, Dick and Ian Murray. Petrie is the obvious choice, just as he was a year ago before we got Peter Grant and then Yogi in November. Kevin Thomson wants a new challenge, has been interviewed for Raith, I think he'd be a good fit. Ian Murray has done very well at Airdrie, would tick the boxes similar to Kevin Thomson. Rumour has it Dick applied both times the job was last available and wasn't offered an interview which is bonkers. Like Petrie, the Pars are his club and I'm sure given our current position would see it as a good challenge. Can't see him taking Arbroath further than he has this season.
  4. Might also work the other way, less of a jump but still a full time/bigger job with his team.
  5. Wonder if Sheilds will get an academy role, I think that would suit him. Either that or he's hiding in the boot room avoiding conversations.
  6. Interview with David Cook on Twitter now. Says search for new boss well under way and will be conducting interviews with preferred candidates soon. They want to target a first team coaching staff with fresh energy, drive and enthusiasm. Sounds like Kevin Thomson.
  7. Maybe fancies another go at the Championship with Raith. Unfinished business.
  8. Aye you're probably right. Keep forgetting he's still under contract so there's no real need to address him. I think I'm just hopeful we're going to get a statement saying he's away, what players are away (hopefully 95% of them) and announcing a new manager that we all want. Not too much to ask is it...
  9. Because the club came out with their statement to say there would be board level changes and manager/player updates would follow, I originally thought they would do what they had to do at board level, sit down and within a few days announce Yogi was away. The longer it goes on I think he'll be staying on. If we're getting rid we need to do it now so that we've got plenty time to appoint and get someone new in the door, let them bring in their own players.
  10. I've got to be honest if Yogi is going I'd like to see Kevin Thomson get the gig. My worry is he's going to end up being announced as Raith manager before we announce Yogi's exit. The fact we've gone on so long now makes me think he'll be here next season, approaching a fortnight since we got relegated and we've heard not a jot. Only saving grace is we also don't know who the exiting players are which makes me think there's still some confusion over who'll be in charge.
  11. I’d have a stauner. I don’t want Hughes but I hate the players more, gutless b*****ds.
  12. Hoping for some news early this week, I hope the reason it's taking so long is because we're mutually terminating 90% of the players.
  13. It wasn't a good season. We're clutching at straws if we can say DT had a good season because of a few good games. Great footballer but c'mon he was the best of a bad bunch. DT was the topic, hence why he's being discussed. I've not got the time to criticise the other 32 jobbers I'd be typing until Christmas.
  14. Okay so not only when the SportScene cameras were in town but not far off it. I count no more than five games where DT was on the form you expect of him, Raith home, ICT away, Killie at home, Thistle at home, Rovers at home. He's a luxury player, a very talented person with a football, all the skills in the book but he doesn't turn up every week and thems the facts.
  15. When he wanted to be, usually when the SportScene cameras were in town.
  16. I do recall Scott Brown doing this, was it not at East End after we'd just beat them 1-0, Phil McGuire header. Just read it was the Scottish Cup Semi.
  17. What so no one else stands in their managers office in their pants every morning?
  18. Would take KT but why are we getting Cardle and Falkingham on the coaching staff? Surely we just get KT's assistant and coach and do it that way instead of filling the dugout with ex players just so that fans feel warm and fuzzy inside. Managers being appointed without their own staff tends not to work. Aye big Ange managed it but he also managed it with about £40mil to spend on players. The next manager we appoint should be coming in with his own team, I love Shields and think Whittaker comes across very well but lets move on.
  19. If we'd won against QoS and straight away gone for the reduced prices we could be looking at a bumper crowd for tomorrow, instead it'll be poor. I've got a wedding on Thursday so can't even consider going to Airdrie or Montrose if we get past QP. I'm so glad, I'm certain it'll be that tie that kills us, coming back to East End needing to make up a couple of goals as per the Alloa game all those years ago.
  20. Absolutely, it had the lot and it was a decent night after from what I remember.
  21. I bought my ticket last night and couldn't believe how empty it was looking. I mean we've been pish but this is a big game, I think the defeat to QoS last week really burst the bubble with the fans.
  22. Is there a chance Yogi was keeping DT23 for the better pitch on Saturday, fresh legs etc. Dom came on against Thistle the other week and hardly had a kick, we all know he likes to get it down and run at people and it was near impossible. Not making excuses just wondering if that’s his logic. Do I fancy us to beat QP at East End? Yes. Do I think we’ll lose the first leg of the final regardless of the opposition and fail to recover in the second leg? Yes.
  23. Henrik Larrson, Quitongo and Gary Oliver have more goals against us than everyone else combined.
  24. I've never raised anything with him or the other SLO but it was nice to know it was read, responded to and had impact. You're right he's one of the good guys who had to field a lot of shite.
