  1. Indeed he did, but was playing with Formartine in the Highland League second half of last season .
  2. Clutching at straws a little bit , the players mentioned came from teams in the same league or one below The players signed have came from playing in the Lowland League and Highland League that a massive gulf to the Championship,
  3. Welcome back, after serving your time.. What are your expectations for this season, is it the normal happy with 8th place or go for it with the possibility of promotion it looks pretty open this season and. Should be a cracker..
  4. I like Gabby he really came onto a game at the end of last season and he found a first touch from somewhere, he was rumoured to be touch and go if he signed or not last season, apparently got a decent deal to stay, i can see no reason why decent deals are not getting offered this season are the season we have of quadrupling our prize money..
  5. It fine you can stay on this forum, if it keeps those tedious Falkirk c***s off the championship forum... Good luck in the seaside league, we will meet again
  6. Aaron Reid young 6.4. Striker from Aberdeen.... Following on from McDonald yesterday we are getting spoiled ! I have a feeling we will see the pen again today...
  7. I know Thistle were in for Armstrong never seen the lad play personally, it's all hearsay at the moment but I sincerely hope we are not signing these lads to replace the likes of Ballantyne and Telfer, this would be the cheap option, it would be a very HIGH RISK policy and after the season of our lives we just had, you would hope to push on and keep your better players.. The lack of information coming from the club regarding players is very poor and us bored fans have to much time on keyboards...
  8. Matty Yates talk to me, any good, he the 20 a season striker we are looking for...
  9. According to our thread we are in for Rhys Armstrong of Spartans is this the lad that Thistle were / after as well, You guys heard anything more.
  10. All clubs will just have to wait and not rush into anything, it's a media driven farce... Dinosaurs not wanting to move with the times, once United got promoted and Livi dropped out this was always going to happen... Airdrie will have no plans to go grass unless they win the championship, which is very unlikely...
  11. Things will start to unravel quickly , expect the released list to be out early next week, and pre season starts roughly third week in June, plenty time for signings etc, as stated previously the club made substantial prize money this season, I would like every available resource to be given to Rhys to bolster the side in this championship, not to get spunked on running a reserve team or under 19s which was basically the same thing, The Academy will be a massive drain on resources IMO, is it worth it.. Look at Hamilton in order for them to try and compete with crowds roughly the same as us, they have put prices up to £ 26 that's scandalous, not advocating we do the same, but we are in a league with some pretty big fanbase now, how much golddust can Rhys McCabe sprinkle before it runs out....
  12. The mood music wasn't good in playoff Second leg when Telfer got subbed for Donnell, alright Telfer was on a booking, but he was and is our most creative midfielder, corner kick taker, chance creater and when we needed him most he was yanked, watching it back Charlie was not happy is there more to it, or was Rhys just playing the narrative to a tee.... Telfer is Edinburgh based and is a very good football player, players like him command a decent wage quite rightly, are Airdrie prepared to push the boat out for his type of quality, or go down the cheaper option of the highly rated Gavin Gallagher..... Raith looks an ideal fit for Telfer if he knocks us back with Turner away...... Hopefully we offer him Frizz and Ballantyne 2 year deals that is another issue we could delve deeper in , why do we not offer multi year deals to our core players....
  13. Can they afford to pay double though, is that not how , they have all ended up in financial bother to an extent over the years, to us the Championship is a relative gold mine compared to League 1, will we stay in Championship we need to, this season will be very difficult though.. As you say though crowds generate money, we avg 1900 ISH last season, which is a massive upgrade on previous seasons, teams you mentioned are double that or more, and paying a couple of quid more per head to get in.... That's surely something as a club although unpopular Airdrie have to do is increase prices to increase budget and give ourselves a slightly better chance, if not we will slink back to the seaside league with our tail between our legs..
  14. You can basically play him any formation, normally plays left centre half and knows how to defend , I know that sounds silly, a criticism I always had was he is very quiet and lacks a bit of pace.. A good 7 out of 10 every week, first name on the team sheet etc..
  15. I would not be surprised if he is not interested in Frizzell, Telfer, Todorov or Ballantyne, I would say any or all would improve that Raith side, Airdrie pressure getting cranked up, you have made at least 4 times the prize money than recent seasons, if you want to repeat , we need to spend... Speculate to accumulate and all that..
  16. Great signing for Raith, watched all the games between the side this season and what was glaring was Raiths inability to pass out of defence, when under pressure, which is an integral part of most sides, Fordyce can do this with ease .. He was a great servant and is probably on his last decent contract at 32, wish him all the very best...
  17. Unofficially scratching around this is what I believe is the current state of play.. Signed.. McCabe Watson McMaster G Gallagher McStravick Fellows Kavanagh. Still to sign and would think we would offer terms.. Telfer Frizzell Ballantyne ATS Heard Rae is either away to Dundee United or Ross County and Gall and Fordyce are away.. This is a rough look on our current situation, would imagine it will be confirmed in the next week or so..
  18. Agree I think his next destination will be one of the clubs mentioned, Can he repeat his heroics from last season, it will be very difficult, as everybody knows in football you move when your stock is high, can his get any higher with Airdrie though ?? I still think Ian Murray and McPake are further up the food chain than Rhys at this time..
  19. Ditto, always thought he would stay another year, I would imagjne ATS will step up to Assistant.... This year will be tough, would like to see us stick with 3 at the back, when it works you can smother teams, one of our biggest positives was trying to do something different than the rest,
