  1. It sounds like Airdrie were never in the running for Ryan after all. Good luck to the lad at the binos.
  2. I dont think there really is a plan as such as of yet, we need a start date and number of games we will play first. Would expect signing movement at start of August if starting in middle of October if so preseason would probably start third week august.... Look on the bright side the new umbro strips should be unveiled next week according to SM they were being unveiled this month.
  3. If true it could be a well paid part time gig and also a full time job that Stirling have got him, players have to make ends meet and realise the big money move isn't happening....
  4. There are plenty strikers out there with a better scoring record, would have liked him to sign though and maybe he still will.
  5. Good player, not too many strikers of his, calibre in the bottom leagues
  6. Does anybody think that after League 1 clubs helped vote again st the motion for Partick to remain in the championship, The same League 1 clubs could then vote to mothball the league that Partick were then relegated into.... I am no lover of the luvvies but surely in the twisted world of Scottish Football that is over the pail.
  7. Kurt is Roberts is one of those players that became an instant fans favourire, don't know why though, admittedly he did have a good month in November, since then he looked unfit and disinterested and really hardly featured, I actually think bottom league 1 top of league 2 is his level, we need to get rid of sentiment and get some players signed who have proven it at this level.
  8. I think to be honest looking at squads and potential costs , I would say at least 6 would vote to play in october, whether another couple could be persuaded who knows.
  9. If clubs are clever they set aside the 50k for testing, the money wasn't budgeted for in the first place....... Things are changing quickly at the moment with covid, thankfully for the better. The governing body have now to find out quickly who can play a 27 game league, small crowds are allowed in Phase 3 of Scotland routes remember. If clubs want to bail out for the season fine, do not scupper it for the rest, A few clubs have committed to this season Airdrie, East Fife, Montrose, Thistle ,Falkirk, Cove etc they have all signed a number of players who will need paid fully in October.... Not sure about the rest of the clue commitment to playing.. It's looks like you need 8 clubs to vote it through, Will it pass, does Doncaster and his cronies give a monkeys... Give clubs a chance ffs
  10. That's why timing of this statement is bizarre, Will the SPFL trust withhold clydes application for 50 k for covid relief, Honourable thing to do topping up the extra 20 % of wages don't know how many clubs are doing that, surely they must have had some idea of costs for this not to forget businesses can app!y for government grants, All right it's kicking g a couple of cans down the road, but it gives the business a chance to trade... Clyde especially when they rent Broadwood should be fine with the stadium being biosecure though with NLC as owners Having to make it safe.....
  11. Any word on the juniors starting yet sarge, is testing going to be mandatory at that level..
  12. Things sound bleak and this is written after the 50k Anderson money as well.......... I have queried on another thread, over the last 4 months what outgoings has there been, not just Clyde all clubs. All Wages paid, no rent or rates, deferred tax, no travelling or training expenses,, with all those savings that has surely made up the shortfall for the remaining games that were cancelled.. Now 50 k falling into your lap from the money tree...........
  13. Good luck with Hummel, Airdrie had them a couple of seasons ago and I think we were lucky to get the strips for November due to Humnnel constantly failing on delivery promises and constant moving of the goalposts.... Quality was quite good though.
  14. Things seem to be improving pretty quickly, latest talk of pubs and restaurants opening mid July only a couple of week ago they were being shut till xmas, have the spfl made a mess of next seasons lower leagues already, mid October for championship and l1 and l2 not even quoted yet, at this rate L1 could easily start mid august,
  15. Steven McDougall good player whatever happened to him
  16. I would imagine the club would save a substantial amount not running a reserve side this season, even if the lads were on minimum wage, A significant number of the young lads were fulltime, I think probably to swell the numbers at training, this was something SM alluded to previously, Nothing been officially announced yet regarding released players etc,
  17. There doesn't seem any logic in playing nine games less, 4 home games and revenue lost, when money is key, very strange..... Fully expect League 1 to start at same time as Championship, already been discussed and commonly agreed apparently, just to be announced... The Bet Fred would start at the beginning of october,
  18. uhlsport quite a left field option for four years as well...... Wh a t happened with Kappa kits always looked class and good quality,
  19. Agree I think teams who resign existing players and use the furlough scheme could end up better financially and be able to cherry pick the better talent to improve the squad, I fear for teams who have shat it and have to throw a team togetber quickly with money at a premium.... That is the reason clubs are vying for a January start where crowds may be back.. Players realistically will be getting signed up 6 to 8 weeks prior to season start be it October or January, Short term thinking by some clubs c could come back to haunt them.
  20. Are these the cameras that give you the goals for the online spfl weekly round up, I always thought they were owned by the clubs , could this be the game changer.
  21. I would think that they are all on fulough, so possibly reclaiming some losses over the last couple of months, have total faith in SM and PH in moving the club forward, at the moment there are so many moving parts, reconstruction, no start date, covid, signing players, discussions with Harry etc.. Frustrating for fans , hopefully according to reports today we might get started in October for the Betfred followed on directly by the league, this ideal world scenario, anything can happen still... Playing wise I would think pre season would start in August ( let's look on the positive side ffs). We have been linked with Dunsmore of East Fife (according to EF thread) and Currie the keeper from Stranraer who has apparently s signed a Pre contract agreement again according to the Stranraer thread. I would think the club will have a number of players in mind or quite advanced in talks, the club just need to know what is happening ..... Regarding league construction is looks like we will be in League 1 whatever happens, should the club vote for a 14 team top league saving Hearts, therefore Partick and Falkirk will end up in the championship as a result, leaving us probably as favourites for league 1 or do we vote for the status quo which will ensure hearts are down down and we play Partick and Falkirk which will realistically lessen our chances of getting out of this league....
  22. How are clubs bleeding money at the moment, there is no income, when is there in early June in any season.. 99 percent of staff are furloughed.. Please explain
