  1. We already seen a midfield version of Cammy Kerr when the doughball McPake played him in central midfield against Arbroath away. There's truly been nothing like it since. Mulligan has huge potential and needs to fine tune some parts of his game. I think it'll be next season before we finally see the best of him. I always go back to Boyle and how rancid he was at Dens. Patience required with this one IMO. Thank you.
  2. With fixtures elsewhere tomorrow a win could be crucial: The Paisley play Govan with a chance for us to cut the gap to the self proclaimed Barca-esque Pandas to five with three games in hand. Dingwall up against the always offended and never shamed which could create a 7 point gap. Hibs play the Killie allowing the gap to be cut to at least one of the teams above. Lastly the Perth Diddies meet Motherwell in what's destined to be a chronic battle in the gaggle of teams below us. By my calculations, If top six is a realistic opportunity then tomorrow has to be a win. If we don't it'll be a case of finishing 8th or 9th. It hinges on tomorrow IMO, however a point then win at Pittodrie would suffice. Thank you.
  3. The goal was completely legitimate and has been proven to be so. Following the laws of football we were a goal ahead. The only fabrication of the scoreline was by Willie Collum and his clown in chief. At the time of the sending off we had scored a goal and the Livi didn't look like doing so in a month of Sundays. After the sending off became easier and we notched another two on top of the first. It's all very simple. To claim a the game changed on the sending off when we were already ahead in match play is wild. Thank You.
  4. Bakayoko scored a good goal which was announced as a VAR howler afterwards. That was just after half time in the first match before the sending off. The game was technically 1 0 when the ordering off occurred. It changed nothing. Thank you.
  5. Costelloe definitely isn't the dud many Dundee fans on here latched onto from the Perth roasters. Bit of a disgrace the reaction to his signing IMO. Looks like a really good young talent but defending clearly isn't his strongest point. With the current defensive injuries I'm hoping the Doc will go to a back four against the Livi - allowing Reilly and Constelloe to play as out and out wingers. If McCowan is injured then it'll give the chance to play Boateng and Sylla aswell. I'd be looking at: Carson McGhee Shaugnessy Ashcroft Dodgson Reilly Sylla Boateng Costelloe Bakayoko Robinson 4-4 facking 2. Thank you.
  6. The best side won and the comeback always looked likely. Some of our defenders back for next Saturday and we may give a better fist of it. Thank you.
  7. Tonight wasn't the capitulation of Perth, Motherwell and Kilmarnock. Hearts were the better side the whole 90 minutes and looked likely to score on multiple occasions. We scored a good goal on the break (great from Costelloe) and the first was one of limited attacks throughout the whole match. Realistically 2 0 at HT was a godsend rather than deserved. The first goal for them comes out of nothing and the frustration mightve grown had the match went on a bit longer. Weak, weak defending for the 2nd and 3rd. Far too easy to get past McGhee for the second and it was identical on Costelloe two minutes before where Hearts should've levelled. Sylla shoul'dve been on for McCowan and I would've had Cameron off earlier when you're looking to hold out at a tough venue away. Our defence looked weak tonight and if you look at the situation with injuries we have to hope it'll improve. Hearts deserved the win tonight and were the better team. Thank you.
  8. They have experience in the game and have been more successful than we could ever hope for (going by McPake, MCann etc). Going by that comment we can't argue either way as every manager Kerrs had bar Hartley has been useless. We'd kill for a league cup win like McIntyre provided the Dingwall. They weren't the right choice for Dundee but to disregard their opinions on football is stupid. Especially when we've been pathetic for years. They seen Kerr was rotten with their years behind them in the game. In summary you could add them into another two shocking appointments that marred Kerrs whole time at the club. Time to move on and progress starting with Docherty who I think we're all behind. Thank you.
  9. They haven't though. McIntyre and McGhee whether anyone rates them or not had no ties to the club and quickly seen he was mincemeat. Bowyer got the jist of it aswell and by the end of last season he hardly featured with Mulligan preferred. McPake and McCann played him relentlessly during periods of complete misery. McPake handing a two year contract out before to 'relate to the fans' and someone in the background doing so this summer before Docherty was appointed. Hartley brought him through and in those periods we seen the best of Kerr where his contracts were obvious to give. That's 50% thinking he wasn't upto it and within the ones who did the moron McPake, delusional McCann and Hartley who gets pass marks. The only thing that kept him coming back was Horsefield, Elliot, Vontae Campbell and other wasters. Anyway, I'll be glad to never mention him again. I'll leave my Kerr posts in the past with our minter years. We move. Thank you.
  10. If we had a competent right back we might not have been relegated continually and ragdolled derby after derby. Yesterday doesn't touch the sides on the last decade. Thank you.
  11. Carson Costelloe Astley Shaughnessy Lamie Dodgson McCowan Boateng Cameron Robinson Reilly Freshen it up and keep the likes of Sylla and Main to start against the Livi thugs on Saturday. Recent midweek wins at Tynecastle include an Andy Nelson winner under Jim McIntyre and Danny Mullen under McPake. If we can win with them morons we can on Tuesday. Hearts 1 - 2 Dundee infront of a large seething home crowd. Thank you.
  12. The news of Rudden and Kerr leaving is music to my ears on this fine Sunday. Further evidence that we're moving on from the blatant disregard for the good of the club. Personally I've got nothing good to say about Kerr. He looked promising when he first broke through but the experiment was long and painful. It became stagnant very quickly yet the likes of McPake wanted to keep constants within the club. The only constant was failure and embarrassment on the whole. Without the 'one of our own' tag Kerr will be a benchwarmer in this league and lucky to be noticed in the top four right backs at Championship level. As for Rudden he tries his hardest and can yet improve. Martin Boyle had the touch of a donkey at Dens and the final ball of a prime Daquin and look at him now. You can never tell what the future holds but Rudden leaving is the right decision. Ashcroft next in this window and Robertson if possible. In the summer we then begin to cull the likes of McGhee and Legzdins. Only then are we truly past the McPake and Co era. Thank you.
  13. Ludo literally called him one of the best keepers in the league the other day. He's an absolute waste of skin in our squad. Pretty sure Legzdins himself would admit that whatever his best was is long gone. Today isn't a black mark on Docherty, it's a black mark on the management of the club before he appeared. There's no way the likes of Legzdins, McGhee, Ashcroft and Kerr would be sitting with two year contracts had the decision not been made before his arrival. We started the season with McCracken and Carson showing Legzdins was likely to be a senior player helping around the club and moving into coaching. I was shot down the other month when I said one of our main priorities in Jan should be a capable replacement for Carson if injured/suspended. Legzdins is criminally bad and Sharps a good shot stopper but would be lucky to be playing weekly in the Championship. Whilst on negatives Tiffoney isn't giving us anything. Really disappointed with him - almost looks like a child in a men's match at times. On the flip side Reilly was class the last ten and should be rewarded with a start at Tynecastle. Thank you.
  14. Nah, he's clearly got talent. Had a few really good moments going forward through him and he should've buried the header from the corner. He won't have many harder games in Scotland than up against Armstrong but in any case Dodgson will be our number one there. After a shocking opening few minutes think we've controlled the game and should've scored right at half time there. With Sharp and Ashcroft in our back line we'll concede again no doubt but that half really wasn't awful apart from conceding early. We have to accept it while we have shite like Legzdins still part of our squad. He threw in goal after goal the other year and only taken a minute for us to quickly be reminded how low we were. There's still hope IMO. Get Main and Robinson on ASAP and hope dross like Ashcroft and Sharp don't cost us further. Thank you.
  15. Don't be posting stats please it'll start to get the boring one drooling. Won't be long until he's along giving us pie charts of his defending, pythagorus thereom on his cone warm up drills and the speed, distance and time of his pre match meal to mouth ratio. Piss off before you start random. Thank you.
  16. Delighted with the Docs recruitment. When you think two years back to the dimwitted McPake bringing in Ibsen Rossi, Rudden, Niall McGinn, Jay Chapman and Vontae Campbell to save our skin in January. It's night and day since then. I called for McPake to be sacked since the first day he put pen to paper because he was an incompetent buffoon. He was actually a pretty poor defender aswell who continually gave away penalties and stupid fouls with his positioning, so how we trusted him to manage was a howler. Add in clowns like Neil McCann being applauded for having horseshite players play out from the back and Mark McGhee putting his heating off to win games and it's enough to make you weep. I can say right now I'm happy with the way the clubs going. Long may it last. Looking forward to tomorrow's tough match then a trip to Tynecastle where i'll be looking to dish out some Albert Kidd related verbal abuse to the Edinburgh fuds. Build a team and the fans will follow. Thank you.
  17. These posts are becoming tedious - especially when they're coming from clubs like the Paisley and Perth. Don't know who these diddies think they are these days. As for Astley it looks like an exciting prospect. Like that the deals including Main are extended beyond the summer giving them half a season to bed in before we need to kick on further next season. We continue to move forward, unfortunately I can only see a cup exit this Saturday however we shouldn't be lowering ourselves to talk of relegation battles this season. Looking for a solid few months in preparation for next season where we tear apart the likes of the DABs and look a season premiership unit under the Doc. Thank you.
  18. Agree with the doubters. Would imagine he'd play just behind Bakayoko. Could be good link up between Stewart, McCowan, Cameron etc however have my doubts over age and current suitability. Some things are best left in the past, but that said it'd be interesting to see what he could give us. Even if he doesn't have the pace his footballing brain won't be lost. It'd be good for him to leave on better terms after telling fans to f**k off after being put out the cup in a depressing midweek defeat to Peterhead in his final match. Thank you.
  19. Agreed - he continually gives the ball away with his atrocious passing but overall has been okay. He's definitely an improvement on your likes of Ashcroft, Sweeney, Fontaine etc but I'd be harsh and say we could get better for next season. He probably deserves a good crack at the second half of the season before he's written off though, hopefully he has a solid showing until May. Thank you.
  20. Not for me. As I watched him tear down the wing skinning boys left right and Chelsea I always thought to myself he'll be a huge gap to fill. He wasn't our player to get too excited about. If we get someone in this window it allows us to see their value to the club for the next few years also giving them the months to transition into the squad so they can settle in for the start of 24/25. I'll go out on a limb and say we'll be taking part in the Prem next season Beck or no Beck. We'll see what happens this month - if Beck reappears at the end there's no way I'll be upset about it that's for sure. Thank you.
  21. Is this the best thing for us? He's a level above in the Scottish Premiership and was a joy to watch but we'll be back to square one in May when he leaves for good. I'd much rather look to bring in someone with a view to next season. You could argue he could be the difference in an outside chance of top six however. Thank you.
  22. I'm pretty sure another season in the Championship would cause a financial implosion over the road. Huge pressure on Goodwin and Co over the next five months. With any luck it will be Perth v East Angus in a battle of the broke come May. Even of the DABs do make it up they've made the error of filling their squad with championship jobbers. Good times. Thank You.
