  1. I really do hope DC starts with Linn, Shanks and Isiaka next week to see if we can actually score goals and none of this line-ups "not to get beat". If we cannot go to a place like Fraserburgh to WIN then we should just give up.
  2. First (and only that i can remember) shot on goal was Bobby Linn on 85 minutes says it all really against a team that had been on a 6/7 game defeat run. As has been been said PTFC has had 4 clean sheets this season with 3 being against us and the other against Fraserburgh. I said it at the time and i will say it again his "nutty" decisions started this season when he played LD in central midfield against Queens Park 2-1 defeat at Gayfield rather than sub James Craigen (hence his departure) and since then it has been crazy decisions every game. Not to start Bobby or Shanks or Isiaka (what does he have to do to get a game) in a very winnable game was absolutley incredible. I REALLY do hope DC can turn this around as i do want him to stay but him being stubborn is not helping himself or the team.
  3. Cannot really visually comment on yesterday's game as i could not attend it, but after speaking to people who were there plus the live-commentary and the comments from fans on various social media outlets here is my take on it. 1. We seemed to play well and deserved to be 1-0 up. 2. Then DC decided to make numerous subs in a short space of time, feedback was IF a sub had to be made it should have been a "like-for-like" i.e. a forward from the bench for the tiring Shank's who had been having a good game but seemed to be tiring. 3. Even when i saw the subs from home i could not believe it (and i hate having a go at any of our players) but i am sorry but Corfe is not up to the standard we require, it does not matter if you are skillful but if you do not burst a gut to chase the ball well you are no good in my team and i have witnessed in the previous games i have saw him play for us, add to that it was his header back into our own box which led to their equalizer, there is no point in pussy-footing about, that is a fact. Numerous folk have told me that Bobby was playing well and was still not looking tired and they could not believe DC subbed him and going by others who witnessed it the way he treated Bobby in full view of the supporters was unacceptable as was (again from witnesses) "allegedly" comments at the Hospitality. 4. It seemed to the fans that were at the game that DC was trying to hold onto the 1-0 lead rather than going for a decisive 2nd goal which would have won the game and the required 3 points. The above has been backed up by COVE RANGERS fans in their comments which also included their amazement in DC taken off Bobby and Oakley. OK back to the season thus far, do i want DC sacked? My answer to that is NO, I think what he has done for this club he deserves to fix the mess HE has created this season, i do not care how many "unlucky" striker signings we have had that fell through you need a PLAN B in place if your no 1 priority signings do not come off, and sad to say 60-70% of DC's signings this season are simply not good enough and his statement "I only sign players better than i have" this season is simply not true. We do have a very good 14/15 players but the Gaffer is not playing them with the correct tactics and his subs have been in the main shocking, I agree we have also had injury and suspensions to contend with and as a squad we are not as strong as last season. To sum up i do believe DC deserves to the end of the season to turn it around and get all the squad back onside but it is also the AFC Board's duty to (IF it is true that there is a rift between DC and Bobby) to get it sorted out and also surely Pink/JY/Big Rab must have a say on the subs as well etc? DC has had all the plaudits (quite rightly) over the last few seasons but this season he HAS to take responsibility and HAS to hold his hands up and admit he has made mistakes (and up until yesterday he has never done this) so after what this Club has done on and off the park over the last 5/6 years which is unbelievable and DC has been a MASSIVE part of this so imo he deserves a chance to fix it so for me he stays at least until the end of the season as given him a bit of loyalty is what i think he deserves. I will always support my club The Red Lichties through thick and thin and i always agree with a bit of loyalty to Managers or players (i.e. the likes of Bobby Linn/Ricky Little) who have been loyal to us. Those are my own thoughts and i know other fans will have their own thoughts which will differ from mine which is fair enough as everybody is entitled to their own views which makes this the game it is. Support the Red Lichties.
  4. Spot on what a lovely young man. Hopefully the AFC Management/Board saw Roddy on this prog last night and invite him and his Mum/family down as guests at Gayfield Park for a game and young Roddy can lead the team out. And also well done to View from the Terrace for highlighting good projects for autism and other things like this, well done folks.
  5. IF DC starts Corfe and no proper striker (Shanks/Isiaka as Hilson is injured) i have my tissues ready as i will start greeting......
  6. Although the lack of "known" strikers signed at the start of the season was a concern the first major concern for me (and many other Red Lichtie fans before/during/after the game) was the home match against Queens Park when DC in some mental crazy decision decided to play Luke Donnelly in central midfield when he had a capable and proper central midfielder (James Craigen) sitting on the bench!! This was the game where Simon Murray absolute "bossed" us (oh to have him back in a Red Lichtie shirt). Since then DC has made some bizarre line ups and subs and i agree with the majority on here that he has to give Shanks or Hilson (or both) and Isiaka a run in the team, not playing a proper forward (or bringing them on) at Saturday's game was unbelievable. Where this club has come in the last few years on and off the park is superb and this includes with the help of DC and for that i will 100% support him and i think he deserves a chance to get us back on track and save us from relegation but i also blame him for (in the main) pipe-reek signings and letting other players go who should still be at the club, and please sometimes admit "I HAVE MADE A MISTAKE" like everybody else does in everyday life. C'Mon the Red Lichties, 36-0.
  7. Well where do i start with yesterdays game? First of all i thought we played well with some excellent displays from Oakley, Little and Hammy until his crazy tackle in the box. BUT DC's subs were bizarre to say the least, when Bitsindou (who had a good game) got injured why not just do the sensible thing and put Hammy in the centre and bring on a proper left back in Hancock instead of moving numerous players out of position? We are then chasing the game and NEED A GOAL and we have THREE FORWARDS on the bench (SHANKS/ISIAKA/HILSON if he was injured then he should not have been on the bench so i take it he was fit) YET UNBELIEVABLY he brings on Corfe lol who me and many others have stated is not good enough at this level and although he can maybe do fancy flicks he is a very poor signing but what really gets me and others HE GIVES NO EFFORT AND DOES NOT RUN OR CHASE FOR THE BALL FOR HIS TEAM MATES FFS!! IMO DC does not deserve to be sacked after what he has done for the club and deserves a chance to get us out this mess but he is losing a lot of the AFC fans faith and his stubbornness of never accepting he has made mistakes (as he blames everyone else) is starting to pee a lot of the other AFC fans off. I have said it before and i will say it again DC does not have a plan B, if he was after big singing strikers for this season he should have had a plan B in place if he was not going to get his first choice strikers so should have signed the likes of Sammon from Falkirk (experienced and knows the Scottish leagues and has scored 6 goals for Alloa this season) or dare i say it even Hester (although he does have a Court case looming) or at least somebody as the vast majority of his South of England signings are simply not good enough and his statement "I only sign players better than what i have got" is now laughable. Where we have come as a club on and off the park in recent years is superb and we had another great crowd, our last 3 home games our attendances have been nearly 1,700, 1,600, 1,700 is superb but not winning games or scoring goals is going to lose a lot of new fans and the blame is 100% DC's fault and he should hold up his hands and admit this. I will 100% support my club and the Manager but he needs to fix his mess and should have spent his big budget for the likes of Scott Allan on a player we really required i.e. a striker like Simon Murray/Anton Dowds/Jack Hamilton. C'Mon the Red Lichties, 36-0.
  8. Why would you despair at Red Lichtie fans wanting Bobby Linn NOT to be subbed when he plays well and does not look knackered (which you can tell with his reaction when he does get subbed)? YES we need to manage him like Pink has said but it looks like a "GIVEN" that Bobby gets subbed EVERY game regardless how he feels or what the score is at the time PLUS i think more of the reason for my reaction and AFC fans around me was who replaced him, i am sorry to say but Corfe to replace Bobby gives me absolute zero hope whereas bringing on the likes of Shanks for Bobby at least gives you energy and also an attacking threat. C'Mon the Red Lichties, 36-0.
  9. Would not disagree with this starting XI if Stewart is still injured McKenna and Hilson are fit. If it is not working please bring on Shanks and Isiaka up front as gives you pace and raw strength. C'Mon the Red Lichties 36-0.
  10. Agree with this, i hate having a go at AFC players but i have seen nothing from Corfe to suggest a reason DC signed him (I only sign better players than i have)? Why he took Bobby off for him was unreal and every fan around me said the same thing. Agree i would have preferred to have seen young Shanks coming on. GREAT result with our players being under massive pressure to get a win, WELL DONE LADS.
  11. RIGHT, this is probably the Red Lichties BIGGEST game since the Killie away game at the end of last season. This IS a 6 pointer and could define our season as we need a WIN and to bring back some confidence, a win today could kick start our season a defeat and the heads go down and it will be a struggle after that. This talk of "happy with a point" at home to our nearest rivals and dropping ToB......FFS get a grip man. Unless those players were injured Gaston, ToB, Little and Hammy starts EVERY game for me with Stewart and McKenna not far behind them 4 players. I just want to see us go for it and put Hamilton on the back foot and HAVE A GO AT THEIR GOALS. If Stewart is injured and McKenna fit this is my starting XI :- GASTON OAKLY LITTLE TOB HAMILTON LINN BITSINDOU MCKENNA ALLAN HILSON SHANKS Feel sorry for Goldie (was actually going to put him in at right back in place of Oakly) and Tait and Jacobs but we need to change it and be more offensive and need more grit and height in central midfield. C'Mon the Red Lichties, Smokies & Wine, 36-0.
  12. Even at this early stage of the season this is a 6 POINTER and a MUST WIN game. Never mind this play safe "happy with a draw" crap if we cannot go out looking for a win at home against Hamilton Accies then we are doomed. I would deffo have team lined up with Linn/Hilson/Shanks (as they all have a lot of energy to go back if required) up front with McKenna (if fit) supporting from central mid. And PLEASE tell the players to have a shot at goal from distance if it is on. C'MON THE RED LICHTIES let's do this, Smokies & Wine 36-0
  13. Agree with this. Last night was very poor and toothless. Apart from a 10 minute period in the 1st half where their keeper had a superb save and a couple of near misses that was about it from an attacking sense. AGAIN why are we scared to shoot at goal with the wind at our backs? Within a minute of the 2nd half and the wind at their backs the Raith players were shooting from distance and thanks to Gaston he brought of some great saves to save us from a hiding. I have said this before and will say it again DC has had praise over the last few seasons and 100% deserved it but this season please hold your hands up and say "I HAVE MADE MISTAKES". I would have only moved on LD from last years squad and unless players demanded away (Low) i would have not moved anybody else on and brought in quality players especially a "known" striker. If JT and Craigen were happy to stay as versatile squad players then i would have kept them as they are 2 GOOD players plus good from the dressing room which is very important as well. DC has brought in a couple of quality players (Tait and Oakly and S.A. still has prove himself) but up to now 50% of them have not been up to his motto "I only bring in players BETTER than i already have at the club". I feel sorry for young Shanks who i think will be a good striker but he is young and raw and needs a good experienced striker up front with him. Last night we started with no striker/front player through the middle and you do not have to be Craig Levein to work out if you get chances in the box then there will be nobody there to try and finish them off. I will back DC 100% but please take some responsibility and everybody and their Granny knew what your MAIN signing was to be this season (a proper experienced striker who knows those leagues) and you failed in this department. C'Mon the Red Lichties this Saturday's game is now MASSIVE and a Cup Final at this early stage.
  14. Agree with this and DC's interview was "bizarre" to say the least. DC has brought in a couple of quality players but up to now 50% of them have not been up to his motto "I only bring in players BETTER than i already have at the club". Anyway on the back of Saturday's good display onwards and upwards.
  15. I will stay off the mushrooms if you do not go to your next "Save The Hedgehogs" meeting and glueing yourself to various public areas under the name of Treetrunk Tobby Ya Walloper!! Everybody to their own i suppose. C'Mon the Red Lichties, 36-0.
  16. I was actually meaning to sign Simon for us on a type of full-time/hybrid contract and mix his football with setting up his Plumbing business, similar to Scott Allan.
  17. What is the capacity of Coves ground and do they have a social club at it? Should be a decent away support at the game with the TASC bus and a lot going up in cars but i do think the train strike will reduce the number of Red Lichties travelling up there. C'Mon the Red Lichties 36-0.
  18. I am not saying Hester is the answer but are you trying to tell me that Corfe is a bigger threat than Hester? If you are then you know zilch about fitba. In hindsight DC should have went full throttle to get Simon Murray the best striker display i have witnessed this season and absolute "bossed" Little and TOB.
  20. Agree with this. At the end of last season after the ICT play-off game The Gaffer should have made getting an experienced striker his no 1 target, he knew early on not getting his no 1 target Dowds was not happening he then should have had a 2nd and a 3rd choice lined up and i am not on about unknown trialists from down south or abroad as that is always a big risk, for every trialist like that you may find 1 in 5 at the standard you want like Nouble (albeit he was a Livi player on loan to us) so DC should have went for tried and trusted strikers. Shanks needs an experience striker/forward up front with him, at the moment that would be McKenna or Hilson both who i would not class as an "out-and-out" striker but that is where we are at. If DC had played his transfer/frees better after getting rid of JT/Craigen/Big Luke and dare i say it Nicky Low we could have had a five figure "££" in the Bank and he could have maybe bid for an experienced striker, personally i would have even went for McAllister or even our ex-player Hester just to boost our goal scoring options if we were not getting in our first choices. And how he can give Corfe more or even the same game time as Bobby Linn absolute beats me. I do not like having a go at our Gaffer but he has taken big plaudits over the last few seasons so when he makes a mistake he has to hold his hands up but hopefully like the last few seasons he pulls a gem out the bag and the goals will start happening.
  21. On another subject i watched Mikey McKenna's interview after the Morton game and i agree with him that i thought the Club/Supporters/Town would have had some type of celebration at the end of the season to celebrate the magnificent season finishing 2nd in the Championship, yes we never won anything but it was a magnificent effort by the team and the club and there should have been some type of thanks to the players as i will be amazed if we ever get this close to the SPL again (although i do hope i am proved wrong). You could see the disappointment in McKenna's face about this and probably other players felt the same, and being a Red Lichtie supporter i was disappointment there was nothing put on as well. Anyway that is in the past so onwards and upwards.
  22. LOL you are joking or taken the pee? DUFC are the only club in the whole of Scotland still to win a league game so i would not imagine they have a spare striker who would score loads of goals in the Championship, i have to admit i was surprised they let Nicky Clark go to St Johntone as he is the type of experienced striker we could do with.
  23. IMO (and everybody is allowed their views) one of the main things DC has done since he has come to the Red Lichties is "togetherness" and "harmony" within the squad of players and throughout the whole club and i honestly cannot understand dismantling a lot of "our" players (i.e. i am not including loan players in this). Without doubt we required a strong no 9 experienced striker and that should have been the main target after the play-off game against ICT, yes were were very lucky getting Nouble (and also Dowds) but go for a known goal-scorer, i would have also taken a chance to bring in McAllister and/or Nathan Austin, both experienced plus know how to score goals and i am sure DC would have got the best out of them (even McAllister for 1 season) plus Austin has pace to burn. With all our loanees leaving and the usual sub keeper leaving i would have maybe only let Donnelly leave and kept the core of the squad. In regards Low if he was/is refusing to play for AFC for whatever reason i would loan him out to a L1 or L2 club and no way would i let him leave for a rival club (Morton etc) or we would have been as well as taken the cash during to transfer window. Also with Donnelly/Thomson/Craigen/(and could have been Low) between those 4 players nobody is going to tell me that AFC could not have got in £20-£25K into the coffers for funds for other players, that is the other i thing i felt bemusing as we could end up with zero cash return? On the plus side Dylan Tait looks very good and Scott Allan (if he screws the nut) has to be a good player but the Gaffer has to play players in their proper positions and if Bobby is playing well then keep him on, you seen the reaction of the crowd on Saturday when he subbed Linn when it was obvious for everybody to see that he was our main goal threat. I will always support my club through thick and thin and what DC has done for us he deserves a bit of slack but even he must admit some of his decisions lately have been bizarre to say the least. Keep The Faith and i am sure Sir Dick will get us out this mess. C'Mon the Red Lichties.
  24. Should sign that James Craigen that scored 2 goals for Edinburgh City on Saturday, one of the most bizarre "free" transfers i have ever seen in my 50+ years supporting the Red Lichties, one of our few players who was not scared to have a shot at goal from distance, plus keep Bobby Linn on, still i reckon we will win 2-0 for the AFC (Linn and Shanks).
