  1. Still seething over Saturday's performance. IMO it was a "free hit" for us against the bottom team in the league so we should have went out to WIN the game but it looked to me we went out NOT TO LOSE the game ffs!! Yes the wind spoiled the game but our performance by every player apart from Hilson was very poor. 2,500 Red Lichtie fans there ready to party but like many occasions in the past at Gayfield in front of a big home support we got let down, i have never seen so many Red Lichties fans as peed off with our performance as i did on Saturday including a few groups up from different parts of England who came up to support us. Why did we not bring on Adarkwa (unless he is still injured) and El Mhanni not come on to try something different up front and as good as McKenna is at set plays are we not better having him in the box as he is our main goal threat? You knew when Cove put on the giants near the end of the game and they were getting corner kicks that they were going to score. C'Mon lads lets get a result at Partick and put this poor season to bed.
  2. Never mind trying to work out our last 3 games and Hamilton and Cove's last games and results it is simple :- WIN ON SATURDAY and that will be it. IMO Saturday's home game versus Cove Rangers should be treated as a CUP FINAL and we should go all out to get the 3 points as i do not fancy going to the last game needing a result. I would imagine Cove will come out all guns blazing as they NEED the win and it is their last chance and i hope we do not play it cagey and go out "not to lose" and i really do hope that DC starts Sir Bobby Linn and says "you are the fans hero and you are champing at the bit so go out there and give your all for 60-70mins and get us the win". C'MON THE RED LICHTIES - 36-0.
  3. Hopefully last week was a reality check for DC, I heard from folk at AFC Corporate that he admitted a mistake of picking the same starting XI as the Hamilton game. DC's signings this season (well 75% of them) have been a disaster and out of last seasons squad i would have only let 1 player go (Big Luke, although by all accounts he has been superb with Alloa) anyway for the Queens Park game i would have Bobby, Stewartie, Goldie and Hilson (all tried and trusted players) and also Big Adarkwi all starting. We need 3 points never mind going for 1 point. C'mon the Red Lichties, 36-0.
  4. To have a "pop" of a Red Lichtie player who has dedicated 10 years of life to give 110% commitment to the Maroon shirt is outrages to say the least. Even if you think it is true after what Ricky has done for us i would have just kept my p#ss shut, fair enough with some of the under achievers but not slating AFC players like Ricky/Bobby/TOB/Hammy etc... C'MON THE RED LICHTIES 36-0 Ya Bass!!
  5. Well done to Clashy for predicting 1,000 Red Lichtie fans would travel to Cove as there must have been that number in the near 1,600 crowd. I wanted us to start with Linn and El-Mhannie to start and for none of them to be in the starting XI was bizarre to say the least. Those 2 and TOB and Ricky were superb on Saturday in a well deserved draw, and we could have won it in the end.
  6. WTF is this a wind up? IMO this is the biggest league game since Killie away on that Friday night. This really is a SIX pointer game, this is a MUST WIN game and if we get the 3 points surely this would push the team on for the remaining games. DC has to go attacking and Bobby and/or El-Mhannie has to play a part, just look at Falkirk the other night playing with fast wide players. C'Mon The Red Lichties lets do it, 36-0.
  7. Q - some seething Red Lichtie fans, but.............................. Kane Hester is a natural goalscorer (not saying a great player) but a forward who knows how to score. Is he a better player than when he was shown the door at Gayfield, I would say he is and the doubters who say he cannot do it at Championship level well his goal on Saturday against Ayr Utd proved he can (which i believe was his 25th goal this season). He would be more of a goal threat than some of the signings we had on board at the start of the season. I would certainly like to have him in my "squad" of players but unsure if him and Shank's are too similar but i would say either of those players has to play up front with a big strong striker. Anyway each to their own and those are my thoughts.
  8. Saturday's game v the Lino Sniffers was frustrating to say the least. I said to other Red Lichtie fans beside me that we needed at least 2 goals to take into the 2nd half, but again we seemed scared to have a shot from distance. I have no idea when we were 1-0 up we needed to make THREE subs and within a few minutes it was 1-1, maybe make 1 sub but 3 at once especially new players just causes confusion. Also between now and the end of the season we have to go into games looking to WIN games and not try and sneak a point so he has to play at least one of our most creative players who sets up chances and are also goal threats so he has to start either Sir Bobby Linn or the impressive Yasin Ben El-Mhanni. I still think we have the squad to stay up but the Cove game is a MUST WIN to kick us on for the rest of the season so we have to go for it as there will be at least 1,000 Red Lichtie fans there. Keep The Faith, C'Mon the Red Lichties, 36-0.
  9. Got stuck in, played in numerous positions, scored crucial goals (2 goals in the much needed win at Gayfield against Ayr Utd) got the opener to put us in front at Killie, was one of the few AFC players not scared to shoot from distance when given a chance and also loved playing for the Red Lichties and loved the fans and was a good "team" player = excellent squad player imo..
  10. Aye great days and good fun, i think i know the "Big ginger haired kid" you are on about lol. Smokies and Wine 36-0 Ya Bass!
  11. Disagree, i thought Craigen was an excellent player for us and always gave 100% and chipped in with a couple of important goals as well and Henderson was also a quality player but he was unfortunate that we also have Ricky and TOB but he would have been ideal in centre midfield this season but as others have said he wanted to leave to go full-time.
  12. I know we are probably overloaded with midfielders but i think it might have been worth a punt in signing ex-Red Lichtie star Miko Virtanen when he left Hamilton. I noticed he has signed for rivals Cove Rangers. I know he was not great in his 2nd loan spell with us and not a clue what happened with him at Hamilton but in his first spell with us he was superb and the exact type of central defence midfielder we are looking for, he is still young a big presence on the pitch and can also pass a ball. Whatever happened to him he has not turned into a bad player overnight. C'Mon the Red Lichties.
  13. It takes a lot for me to slag any Red Lichtie player but i am afraid Corfe never helped himself with his lack of effort imo. Even if you are played out of position or even playing in a struggling team the least i expect from a Red Lichtie player is EFFORT and there was a home game when Corfe came on as a sub for Bobby Linn (sure it was against Partick Thistle) and there was a ball played in front of him and he just stopped and pointed and made a gesture yet Shanks who was at least 20 yards behind Corfe burst a gut and ran past him to save the ball from going out. All the best to him and he does have a trick or two but he needs to work on his work rate as opposed to fancy haircuts.
  14. I actually thought for 35/40 minutes we played well against ICT on Saturday and if we never lost a daft goal bang on half-time things might have been different. When you are down at the bottom your luck is out and look at all the breaks of the ball on Saturday 95% of them seemed to land at a ICT player plus their right back (who was playing no 8 ) was superb plus Billy McKay is still a quality striker, add to that some of our BIG players are off form (Gatts, TOB, Ricky, Hammy, Mikey) players that it is hard to have a go at because in the main they have been heroes for us over the past seasons, we are also getting "punished" when opposing teams get a chance whereas in the past (either good defending or luck) we managed to clear our lines. Positives - there is no doubt we now have a stronger squad than 4 weeks ago and hopefully an experienced big striker still to come in, just look at the bench on Saturday, it was far superior to a few weeks ago, so we have 15 games to go and lets be honest we are now in a mini-league of 3 teams so our aim is to finish above both Hamilton and Cove Rangers and i am confident we can do this. Mistakes have been made by D.C. this season there is no doubt about that but we have 15 games to save our season and this is the time for all Red Lichtie fans to back the club and the players.
  15. LOL ya FUD, probably never done 4 keepie-ups in your life and you glue yourself to the M25....................C'MON THE RED LICHTIES 36-0
  16. Totally agree hence i said his summer signings/tactics/line-ups/subs for most of this season has been crap but i like a bit of loyalty to folk who have done good for this club so the likes of this current Management Team/Bobby Linn/Ricky/Hammy/Goldie/TOB/Mickey/Gatts and a couple of others get a bit of slack from me for what they have done for the Red Lichties but also as you say are not above criticism.
  17. Agree with this, also good to see that "some" of the "Campbell Must Go Mob" have admitted their mistake and are eating Humble-Pie, as you say even if we did go down this season DC/Pink/JY/Rab etc deserve next season at least to try and get us up again. Next to Sir Albert Henderson this Management Team are the best we have ever had. Game on, 36-0.
  18. Let's hope the win against the Dees kick-starts our season. I am glad the AFC Board have stuck with DC and did not listen to some supporters crazy shouts to get rid of him. Let's be honest this season DC has made some bad signings and some crazy line ups/tactics/subs but i am glad he has EVENTUALLY admitted he has made mistakes so for that i was willing to give him at least until the end of the season to improve us (and okay it is only one game) but with his new decent signings it seems to have worked. IMO DC and his backroom staff deserve a bit of loyalty after what they have done for the club. Also hats off the the AFC Board for also supporting them and for getting the funds for the new signings. C'Mon the Red Lichties, onwards and upwards, 36-0.
  19. What was the official attendance at Mondays game and how many was in the away support? Thank you. 36-0.
  20. I like Hilson and would like us to hold onto him, OK not as a striker but a good player to bring on to cause havoc with his running ability and workrate to keep opposing defenders busy, better than anything we have on the bench at the present moment. Hilson and Shanks would be 2 of the "fringe" players i would be keeping.
  21. I am maybe in the minority but i think DC deserves the January transfer window and see where it takes us. I like a bit of loyalty and what he and his backroom staff have done for the club they deserve another transfer window to try and get us out of this mess. Has DC's signings this season been terrible = YES Is it his fault where we are in the league = YES Has his tactics and subs been bizarre = YES There is no getting away from it but he is at fault for where we are but i still think he deserves one more transfer window to see if he can turn it around, we managed to do this 2 seasons ago. His obsession on signing unknown phantom players from down south is on the back of Livi's Nouble but he is a 1 in 10 chance and as the impressive Queens Park proved there are plenty of players in the lower Scottish Leagues good enough to play in the Championship (just look at our Little/TOB/McKenna/Gold/Hammy etc). Simon Murray is the EXACT type of player we have been missing this season, again he bullied our defence all over the place and with Thomas ran the show. Bobby Linn again nearly scored a worldie goal them promptly gets subbed?? (one of our few players not sacred to have a shot at goal). For 43 minutes i thought e done OK but when we went a goal down you knew what was away to happen, i also thought McKenna was looking back to his best. But DC needs to get the new players in at the START of January. C'MON THE RED LICHTIES - 36-0.
  22. I will hold my hands up here and now, i f#cked up by saying play all our fringe players to prove a point. Holly sh#t i never realised how poor they were (apart from Shank's who tried his best and gave 100%) but DC should have played a stronger midfield than he did as we were just totally overan there. Yes it is a Micky Mouse Cup but imo with the World Cup on we should have played it on Thursday night for a bigger crowd and DC should have started maybe 2 or 3 fringe players insted of 5 of them and please tell me why on earth we signed Corfe as the least i want out any player is EFFORT!!
  23. I thought it was a decent performance on Saturday and deserved the point and in fact could have won it in the end, the subs made a difference but for the life of me having our 2 proper strikers on the bench (Shanks and Isiaka) i could not believe the Gaffer brought on Corfe for Bobby and never went for the 3 points with putting another striker up top with Fosu who caused problems when he came on. I was at the Q&A so know some of the reasons that some players are getting less game time than others and in the little game time i have seen Isiaka play he has actually looked decent, strong and direct so it is a mystery to me why he does not get more minutes under his belt and if anybody is telling me there is more chance in winning a game thrown Corfe on before Shanks and Isiaka then i am baffled. I think Friday's game is the type of game to play the players that are not getting game time and just say "prove me wrong lads".
  24. Excellent meeting with both sides (AFC Management/Board and AFC fans) getting both their views across. Also very good crowd there, just a guess but i would reckon 100+ fans there. Pink and all the AFC Board (less maybe 2 I think) were in attendance. Good frank discussions from both sides were put across and the good thing about Pink he is open and honest and admitted mistakes have been made but he and DC are very confident that we can get back on track and has asked for everybody connected with The Red Lichties to stick together and to get through this rough patch working as a team. I think this Q&A was required for everybody involved and a big round of applause at the end of the meeting sort of proved it. Well done to all. C'Mon the Red Lichties 36-0.
