  1. Another thing i meant to add was EVERY Red Lichtie player's efforts today was spot on and fought for the cause. I could not argue with DC's starting XI but i never agreed with the positions he put the players in as i would have started with Goldie at right back and Stewart right midfield with Hendo in the centre with C. Hamilton and Bobby wide left midfield, but the Gaffer was spot on changing it at half time as all the Pars pressure was coming down their left hand side with Dow their main threat. Great to see all our subs played their part with Thomson/Craigen/Hilson/Big Luke putting in a great shift when they came on. Well done lads, Smokies & Wine 36-0.
  2. Superb disciplined and fighting display from the Red Lichties against a very good Pars team (HOW are they bottom of the league with a squad like that?) today. Sir DC was superb when questioned on the performance on AFC TV after the game as he replied "At this stage of the season i am not caring about performances as it is all about points and we got 3 points today" and the Gaffer was spot on, yes the Pars hit woodwork twice and had a few chances but we had 3 clear cut chances from Hammy, McKenna and Stewart and each of them should have scored. Superb today lads and what an effort, Smokies & Wine 36-0.
  3. If Thomson, Low and Wighton are all missing from the Dunfermline game then this would be my starting XI :- GASTON GOLD LITTLE TOB HAMMY STEWART C.HAMILTON HENDO LINN BIG HAMMY MCKENNA D.C. HAS to start with Linn as he was outstanding for the 60 mins he was on in the Thistle game and a constant threat and if creative Low is out at least having Linn and Stewart out wide they will create chances for the 2 robust strikers to attack in the box. That leaves a strong central midfield to battle for the ball and both are not bad in the air in fact the very impressive Chris Hamilton has surprised me at the amount of headers he has won, if that is not working a simple swap of Craigen on for any of those 2 in central midfield but we must give Bobby game time, also agree the 2 new strikers need more of a chance i thought Bakare looked decent and a bit of a handfull in his short time he had against Hibs and i do not think he has played a minute since? C'MON THE RED LICHTIES - 36-0.
  4. I noticed that a Red Lichtie player i rate James Craigen was not even on the bench for the Hibs game, was he still suspended or injured or just left out the squad? I thought he served his suspension (after his red card) in the Hamilton game? C'Mon the Red Lichties 36-0.
  5. Absolute no complaints from me in regards Sunday's game against Hibs, we competed well and scored against them plus had other great opportunities to score again so well done to the players for that as Hibs (who looked good) knew they were in a hard game. This is only observations and not a complaint but i think we should have brought the subs on earlier as because of the heavy schedule we have had lately it was clear to see some of our players were "blawn oot their erses" at about the 70-75 minute mark and i would have made 3 or 4 changes then including bringing Bobby Linn on to attack their full backs and went for it as we had nothing to lose imo as this was a free hit for us. As has been said by many others Nicky Low is a central midfielder but i also think he needs a terrier midfielder who is good in the air next to him. Well done lads and now back to normal business. C'Mon the Red Lichties, 36-0.
  6. It was a sad day when the Gayfield Boot Boys had to retire for the in-coming Arbroath Soccer Society (A.S.S.), D.M.'s and white skinners and Crombies replaced by trainers and tennis gear......36-0.
  7. I think some folk on here are going a bitty overboard with their criticism of some Red Lichtie players and the performance last night in general. Yes it was not our best performance and the majority of the players had an off day but we still gained a hard fought point so well done the AFC players. The weather was horrendous and some of the shouts (well slagging) from some home fans sheltered undercover to the players as a pass was mistimed or not controlled properly was laughable, also we were against a cheating, time-wasting hard to break down opposition and a dreadful referee and a very good goalkeeper. Yes we were not at our best last night but give the players and team a bit of praise for getting a hard fought point in the end. I also agree with timlichtie that midweek games without doubt "in the main" benefits full time clubs as they have the whole day to relax and travel whereas our players have done a half-day shift at their work then rush up to Gayfield. I thought Jack Hamilton was outstanding last night and my M.O.M.. C'Mon The Red Lichties, 36-0.
  8. IF we did go up there is no way we would even think of going full time, anybody who was at the last Q&A with Pink and the AFC Board would tell you that as the question was asked. As has been previously said IF we did go up the present squad deserve the chance to compete in the SPL. Let us all just enjoy the ride and let's see where it takes us. C'Mon the Red Lichties, 36-0.
  9. In regards tomorrow this is a difficult game to gauge what type of team to put out as our recent cup games against lesser opposition has been poor in the past few seasons, Clyde, Edinburgh City and Falkirk (twice). I would love if we could rest Gaston, TOB, Little, C.Hamilton who have played the vast majority of games this season but could we take the risk? I think we start with the same XI that started last week with maybe one change in starting with Bobby Linn for Hendo so that we are more attack minded and then hopefully we get a few goals up then ring the changes. C'MON the Red Lichties, 36-0.
  10. Be surprised if it is Kevin MacDonald, is he still not doing his rehab after his operation? I know he has been training with Dundee FC and now DUFC but not sure if he is ready to start playing fitba yet? Heard he was also doing his badges also and i think he is still attached to Fulham FC, do not get me wrong he would be a great signing if he is fit plus he is a local lad from Carnoustie.
  11. Thought he made a difference when he came on today including the 25 yarder that hit the post before our winning pen. Support ALL AFC players, Smokies & Wine 36-0.
  12. Well done the Red Lichties deserved to win that game. EVERY AFC player was superb including the subs Craigen and Wighton and Gav for just being Gav x Must add i know Red Lichtie fans traveled through to Kirkcaldy to watch the game in a boozer but i watched it in the hoose and fair play to Raith TV outwith Red Lichtie AFC TV it is the best coverage and commentators and help desk so well done. EVERY AFC played their part but my M.O.M. just was Nicky Low. Now to jump on the train and celebrate in Jackie O's and Bentleys...... Smokies & Wine 36-0 Ya Bass!
  13. Thanks to the boy from Raith TV who got me fixed up, he did say there have been a few folk struggling to get registered but we got there in the end. Smokies & Wine 36-0.
  14. No probs, but at a party just now with Boris and the ex-Prince now just called Andy. 36-0.
  15. Anybody else having hassle getting registered to sign up for Raith TV?
  16. I agree with this in regards Craigen, i think he is a great player although i agree maybe left/mid wide player is not 100% his position but he does do a decent job there. He is also one of the few (T.O.B./McKenna being the others) AFC players that has a shot from distance. In regards "an attacking wide player", well we do have one on the books as in Bobby Linn!! C'Mon the Red Lichties, 36-0.
  17. Superb getting Wighton signed until the end of the season, still cannot believe he is still only 24 years old, seems to have been around for years, well done all at AFC. C'Mon the Red Lichties, 36-0.
  18. Will be interesting what team Sir D ick will put out tomorrow. IMO Doobs is too good a player to leave out so he will come straight back in but for who? Craigen has been superb as well and has had a few assists so he is also a starter for me. C'MON THE RED LICHTIES, 36-0.
  19. Does anybody know where the majestic Pongo McCord and quality pro Kris Doolan are playing their fitba just now? C'Mon the Red Lichties 36-0.
  20. This is the type of game (AFC probably go in as favourites) that we tend to muck up so i always prefer us to go in as underdogs but i really hope i am wrong. Absolute no idea what DC's starting XI will be as his last 2 line-ups have been crazy with imo better players on the bench or even out the squad but we have taken 4 points out f 6 so fair play to the Gaffer and the players that have come into the starting XI. In regards James Craigen i think he has been an excellent signing for us and this season has been a regular starter then in the last 3 games he started against Raith Rovers and hit the post with a shot then got subbed, never got stripped in the next game against Ayr Utd then was a sub who come on last night against ICT so with DC's line ups recently it would not surprise me if he was in goals against the Pars!! What i like about Cragen is he is one of very few players at our club (probably TOB and Hammy and McKenna and Bobby being the others) who is not scared to have a long range shot at goal, also heard he is a really good lad in the dressing room and in general. C'Mon the Red Lichties, 36-0.
  21. I do not like having a go at our Gaffer but imo his starting XI and subs cost us 2 points in a very winnable game on Saturday. Okay we were not at our best against a good Raith Rovers the week before but if Craigens shot that hit the post goes in the net then we come away with a draw so i could not understand why DC made so many changes on Saturday? Also at 1-0 up against Ayr Utd it was crying out for a creative player like Bobby Linn or Paterson to go on and get another goal but we then bring on a defender to play in midfield?? = bizarre to say the least. I cannot understand why Paterson is not getting a chance as Paterson looks to be the nearest we have to Nicky Low and everytime i have seen Paterson play he has looked very creative and good on the ball. One thing i do agree with the Gaffer though is it just shows you how far we have come that we are disappointed in only drawing with full-time Ayr United in a home game. McKenna was M.O.M. for me with Hammy and Stewart also excellent. C'Mon the Red Lichties, 36-0.
  22. A deserved point imo and given that 3 of our best players was not even stripped you would have taken a point prior to kick-off. Not at our best but apart from a mad 10 minutes at the start of the 2nd half we matched Morton and had a couple of good chances, the players that come in for Low/Nouble never seized their chance imo and why Bobby Linn never started this game is a mystery to me, the thing is Hilson has been superb of late when coming off the bench so i was expecting big things from him today when i saw he was starting, he is maybe trying too hard as he is a quality player. It was a clear penalty as the Morton player lead with his elbow into Hammy's puss, what a superb penalty by McKenna as well. Great to also see Thommo back but was also wanting to see Paterson get a run out. Looked a good AFC support there as well (i was working today so could not make it) and imo Hendo was M.O.M. followed by the impressive Craigen. C'MON THE REF LICHTIES, 36-0.
  23. Best game i remember against Morton was at Gayfield in 1993 in the Scottish Cup, Morton were a league above us but we hammered them that day with Stuart Sorbie getting a hat-trick with our striker Kenny MacDonald having a superb game without scoring, always remember a big pitch invasion at the end of the game and a bit of fisticuffs with the away fans. Also remember we used to play Morton fans in an arranged game of football pre-match out at the Vicky Park back in the day, sure one of their famous fans who used to travel up from England used to arrange it between both clubs supporters clubs. Simple change for me, Craigen into centre-mid to replace the superb injured Low and Bobby into the starting XI, also hope Paterson gets a chance as well. C'MON THE RED LICHTIES, 36-0.
  24. Was working this morning so watched the game on QOTS TV this afternoon and the Red Lichties were superb with TOB MOM, what a Captain what a player and Nouble is worth the admission money alone, also a big shout out for Hilson as he gets a bit of stick by some AFC fans and yes he missed a good chance with his first touch but i thought he was superb when he came on today plus well done to the Red Lichtie fans who traveled as QOTS TV said there were 150-200 AFC fans there today. Also well done to Goldie for "taken one for the team" as it worked lol. Also have to give QOTS TV a bit of credit although they should have pre-match and post match interviews the commentator was decent. C'Mon the Red Lichties, 36-0.
  25. As much as i am a MASSIVE Bobby Linn fan i think The Gaffer has to stick to the starting XI who started against The Pars. Bobby like every other Red Lichtie player who is not in the starting XI just now has to bide their time and grab their change to impress when they get their chance in the team, although i was on holiday when the Red Lichties beat The Pars the highlights showed Bobby in superb form when he came on as a sub plus Patterson looked good against the Dons B side last week. C'Mon the Red Lichties, 36-0.
