Just a thought, but would we have a better shot at the title or promotion through the playoffs by selling Easton in exchange for a decent centre half? Easton when on form is class but he can be inconsistent and we’ve got plenty of cover in that area. May be a stupid idea but if we keep shipping goals at the rate we have done then could see us ending up in third.

Most would have predicted that result after the draw came out. Thought we played reasonably well, but defence not strong enough again. A worrying pattern developing of not taking chances when on top. Wasn’t overly impressed with Turner today, even leaving aside his penalty fiasco. Some great touches and play from Vaughan and Hamilton though. Noticed Livi admin are having a wee dig on the crowd stuff. Can’t really complain. Never been a fan of crowd wanks. Would rather win the game than the crowd count. With Dundee Utd’s budget and squad we were probably never winning the league, but the win up at Tannadice had a lot of us believing. Reality has sunk in a bit since though. More concerned about Thistle pipping us for second. Reckon if we can make sure of second place then we’d have a good shout in the play offs.

Feels like the clocks going back hoodoo has been replaced by the pre/post Christmas collapse. At least we’ve got the points banked and won’t be making any disastrous signings this year. Have always thought 2nd was the best we could hope for and starting to feel like that is the case, but still lots of points to play for. Easton needs some time on the bench. Great cross for goal, but other than that was very poor. Dick is easily the weakest player on the park so if there’s any chance of replacing him this window that would be my priority. On the plus side, McNeill decent again, Corr looked ok and Turner look a good addition. We also created chances but just wasteful with them. On to Livi

Reaction to the reality check of Arbroath and Ayr. 3-1 Rovers. Utd to hit Arbroath for 6.

Can see how the ‘embarrassing’ take might seem to Arbroath fans, but actually glad from a Rovers point of view that he’s a bit angry. Defensively the last two games have been a bit of a joke and think it’s helpful to call that out honestly. Hopefully we get a reaction against the Pars. Noticed his GiRUY to someone in the main stand at Gayfield. He’s usually fairly mild mannered so presumed someone behind him had been giving him abuse.

Poor to chuck away the points when 2-0 up at home. Think our poorest performances have come when we go top of the league. Loss to Airdrie and two poor draws at home. Maybe points to a mentality thing. Winning at Tannadice was great but feels like it has made us a little complacent. Easton the last two games has over played at times when finding the simple pass might have been more effective. We also miss Stanton badly. Overall where we are in the league is beyond expectations. Have never thought anyone was going to finish ahead of United given their resources so to be where we are and even competing is incredible. Despite disappointment with the result, can’t deny Ali Adams his moment. Reminds me a bit of Brian Potter, came on, did something special and becomes an instant cult hero. Good luck to the guy. This is what football at our level is all about.

Nothing to fear. Let’s just have a go at them. Win on Saturday and we’re definitely Christmas number one.
