I take sandwiches most days, or those pasta mug shot things. There's a snack bar about 30ft away, but eating greasy food then doing heavy lifting isn't great.

Didn't even realise this thread was here. Bought a Sony dsc hx400v for xmas, really good. I'm still learning a bit about shutter speeds and ISO. Was out and about yesterday down the east coast and got some good photos.

Just wondering if anyone else is into photography?? Spent £330 on a Sony camera at xmas (joint present) and I'm really enjoying getting out and about with it. Had a trip down the east coast tonight day, logniddry and Berwick law.

One of my colleagues has the mumps, but has still came into work.

She's always followed the correct procedures. Regular updates, phone calls, returns to work etc. There were days before her operations where she was almost crippled with pain, but she hauled herself into work, because she'd heard that other employees in other care homes through the council had suffered a similar fate to what could happen to her. We've spoken at length about it tonight, and she's decided that she's going to get in touch with a few agencies and get her CV into a good few places as well. We don't have the financial clout to go down the tribunal route, in terms of lawyers and stuff. We think the best thing to do is to look for alternative employment and get out of the council.

It just fucks me off that they can punish someone for having to go in for surgery then have to take time to recover from it.

Should have elaborated more, aye. Basically over the last 5 years, she's had a foot operation, and a knee operation, both of which she had to obviously take time off for. She was put on two absence displinary procedures on both occasions. The latter was a case of if she went 6 months without being off the second one would be wiped off. They extended it to a year, she had 3 days off in that period, and has just went back from a week off to due to a very nasty chest infection. This has ended up going to a stage 3 meeting, which could mean dismissal.

Looks like the wife is losing her job due to Edinburgh council and their fucking stupid absence procedures.

Bought a tube of Pringles yesterday. Opened them in the car and had a few. Threw the tube over to the back seat. Only I hadn't put the Fucking lid on correctly.

Vegetable soup for starters, followed by roast pork and roast potatoes with gravy, washed down with a few bottles of dark ale. The wife is in for a stormy night.

Took the car to peter vardy Vauxhall today (got a letter from Vauxhall saying there could be a handbrake issue with certain models of corsas between 2007-2009), and when I went to collect it, I was told there were "at least 4 things needing fixed ASAP", including a new gasket, and there was water in the oil tank. Phoned the mechanic that I use, he just laughed. Took it up to him to be on the safe side, the gasket is fine, and the "water" in the oil tank was condensation. Peter vardy - shower of liars trying to get money for work that doesn't even need done.
