  1. Was at Blantyre Vics match today , grass quite long , pitch really heavy , lots of dull bounces and players losing their footing made for a pretty feisty game. Would have been sh*te on a pool table astro surface.
  2. With offside VAR in theory seems like a great idea, it's a binary decision someone is either off or on end of . Except it isn't tho is it but as soon as it gets looked at in freeze frame high definition someones fingernail being a mm off etc now puts the decision maker in a position as something that clearly isn't in the spirit of the rule then has to be given , making a mockery of what the technology was brought in to do in the first place . Just a quick thought would it perhaps make more sense to say that VAR can only be used to overturn a wrongly declared offside?
  3. Sore one to take last night but can I just point out that we're 2 games from the end of a campaign and not only are we right on the edge of automatic qualification but folk are actually hoping for results to go certain ways that will delay qualification to allow us to win the group. Whit a difference from the Berti Vogts days eh ?
  4. To look at it objectively If that goal was chopped off against us I would be absolutely pissing myself and lapping up the salty tears of the opponent's as I would never in a million years expect to have been given that decision. Yes Spain were the 'superior' team on the night but that doesn't automatically mean that we should just be accepting that they should have won anyway . Ref had an absolute howler but only in one direction, major influence on the game.
  5. Had never noticed this before then seen it at least a half dozen times this week , usually accompanied by absolute c*ntish behaviour.
  6. Aye the infrastructure is seriously in need of upgrading, Im sure someone told me that NR had something like a 30 year backlog just on lineside foliage clearance alone! Continual rain is kind of alright but it's one off deluges that it really can't cope with so I guess maybe there's some concerns around the fife circle as there are some particularly tricky sections around there . ( tbf any excuse to limit the movements in or out of fife are probably encouraged )
  7. Aye , since Carmont it was very noticeable the amount of blanket speed restrictions/line closures that were thrown down at the slightest hint of heavy rainfall (even if a couple of weeks after that I was allowed to run full speed during a pretty heavy downpour when a landslide washed a whole section of track away less than a minute after I passed it !!) and it is up to NR to suspend train running etc. ScotRail I'm sure will be doing everything they can to run as many services as allowed.
  8. Refreshing to properly lose a game for a change. All this narrowly losing but playing great was getting a bit boring.
