  1. There are companies who are experts in the field of Health and Safety at Work that can be called upon to get this right. ARCO one of our sponsors are the market leaders in that field. You would like to think the club would have called on their expertise in setting out the procedures, risk assessment etc for the Stadium and the individuals employed by the club. Since they are based in Middlefield they should be on the premises on a regular basis helping the club to keep the employees on message.
  2. It's engrained in their mindset and these practices were in place for years, Eddie Turnbull's reign being a good example nasty negative team. The Fergie era just got more cynical about it. True they are nothing as bad as they were now, but a vow is a vow. Were you at the 1986 game ?
  3. If one of the so called ' Top ' clubs with all their financial clout can't get it right. Then clubs in the lower leagues ( or diddy as you referred to them ) in particular the clubs with part time players who have a lose lose situation are on a hiding to nothing.
  4. No ! just despised because of their antics on the pitch going back decades.
  5. Archie Knox was in charge that night but take your point.
  6. It goes a lot deeper than that mob's antics a few days ago ! let me elaborate. This is personal to me and respecting a vow I made to my self at Brockville on the 8th of October 1986. Game against Aberdeen that ended 3 -3. It was the nearest I ever witnessed to there being a riot at a football game. Aberdeen whatever they were up to that night it was not football. Everything that is bad about the game was neatly assembled in one package by these 11 whinging cheats that took to the field in red jerseys. Whatever it was they were doing it was not football. It was everything that was nasty about the game. Kicking and punching players off the ball. Diving. Faking injury. Claiming for everything. Spitting on players. Organised mobbing of the match officials whether for decisions or to get opposition players booked or sent off. This was no off the cuff stuff it was coordinated and could only have come from the training ground and responding to pre match managerial instructions on how to apply what they learned on the training ground regarding how to apply what they had been coached. I have never been so enraged and angry at a game before and since. I made a Vow, Pledge, Covenant, Promise whatever you want to call it to my self as I left Seat 53 Row H Section B that night with the crowds chants of Cheats ! Cheats ! Cheats ringing in my ears and made my way to my local ( Black Bull Polmont ) The VOW . That I would despise that Football Club and everything about it for the rest of my life. It is with great pride I have abided by what I said to myself I would do. Bitter ? damn right. Don't know if you were at the game that night, but readers of the forum that were at it will understand where I am coming from.
  7. This is the whinging cheats eleven we are dealing with here. Despised by all in the game that mob have the un enviable fame of every supported of every club cheering when they lose a goal. They are beyond contempt and nobody would give them the heat off their piss. There will be no further sanctions against them.
  8. Aberdeen have most likely put back the date for crowds at games back weeks if not months. There must be sanctions put in place to make such behavior unacceptable in the future. So hit them in the pocket with a fine like 50% of the league position payout at the end of the season. Now anybody can catch this virus and sooner or later a player will catch the infection through no fault of their own - these things will happen. Sanctions should not be applied in these circumstances That is proportional and fair to all.
  9. What's been reported since your post makes your post out of date. The Scottish Government advised that AFF broke the guidelines agreed between all parties regarding the return of football. As the employer of the people who broke the rules that were agreed with the Football Association. Aberdeen deserve every sanction coming their way. It's the Football Association that called off the match all the Scottish Government has done is agree with that course of action.
  10. Unclean ! Unclean ! The playing staff and management should be issued with brown cloaks and a bells and made to march up and down Union Street for a few hours. They have let themselves down, the club down and worse of all the support. These excuses for professional footballers deserve the ridicule and derision that is going to come their way.
  11. It could only be the Sheep herders from the north, who loveth their sheep even unto themselves that would show how not to go about things. The whinging cheats 11 have pissed of everybody in football for decades. Universally despised by all, it takes something when both sets of fans at every ground to cheer when they hear that mob have lost a goal or a game. Not content they now climb or should I say plunge to a new level. 'It was one fucking night in October 1986' Would not give that mob the heat off my piss !
  12. Football Tops are all about the sales to the fans. Hence the naff patterns incorporated into the tops in the deluded belief it increases sales. Red has no place on a Falkirk top . If the club had the courage to go retro they would reap the financial reward. Home- Blue top with White collar and cuffs. White shorts. Blue or White socks. Away- White top with Blue collar and cuffs. Blue shorts. Blue or White socks.
  13. It was in the George Miller era and only used for a handful of games. Deep Red shorts and white socks. There is a picture about of John Hay in the strip somewhere. I liked it at least.
  14. 3-5-2 depends on the wingbacks having the engine and the stamina to get up and down the park all game. Laverty-Sneddon Left and Connolly-Mercer Right would be the options if they are up to it. Miller sitting deep in the middle leaves two positions. Box to box player and a creator and there is your workable midfield five that could supply the chances to Dowds and Keene and score a few themselves. If it works for once FFC dominate games from the kick off, something FFC sadly have not done for a few seasons.
  15. Good business is long term strategic planning. Have an objective that is achievable and a time line it can be achieved in. Review-Revise-Action and back again until it is reached. Having the right people at the right time in place is crucial. The football example of that working is Fergus McCann's time at Celtic. Derided and despised at the time but he stood by these principles.
  16. Oh Dear ! where did that mental collapse come from ! Could be worse I might have though I was an Aberdeen supporter.
  17. Great signing in Keene and a positive indication of the teams intentions.
  18. Been thinking of the 3 at the back for a while now. Load the midfield with 5 Miller as the holding player Laverty-Sneddon as a choice for wide left. Connolly-Mercer Right leaving midfield hussler and a creator from who we have or new signings. Dowds and a new signing upfront there is the 3-5-2. It makes sense from who we have signed so far. Know you are not keen on Dixon in a back 3 but maybe M&M reckon they can coach a back 3 that works. Thoughts ?
  19. Goalkeeper - Defender with a bit of versatility - Center forward with pace x 2 minimum. We have enough old heads in the squad and signing should be in the 20-25 age bracket.
  20. You are being to kind to him, an arsehole fulfills a useful function. Pampered Sumph is more appropriate.
  21. Maybe so ! but they do not come close to Vince Mennie.
  22. picture Back row - ? ? McMillan Donaldson Rennie Wheatley S Kennedy Harley Middle row - Shirra ? Markie McLeod Jack J Kennedy Somner McCabe Little Front row - Hoggan Scott Gibson Ferguson Cunningham* Setterington Manson Cattenach. * The manager of the most exciting era I experienced as a Falkirk fan. Anybody help with the ? players.
  23. All good ! but for me it's John Markie - signed on a free from Newcastle United. The club not granting him a testimonial is a disgrace to this day.
  24. George Millers penalties were textbook. Side footed low and hard aimed at the back net support, ball always went in about 1 foot in from the post. Think he ony missed one when he lost his footing. Class act and the best footballing center half and left footed players I have seen in a Falkirk jersey.
  25. Ok then ! Stuart Rennie signing tomorrow as back up goalkeeper. It's as credible as the other stories over the last few days.
