  1. The game is run by frightened old men who’s only ambition is to dress up in their club ties and blazers and sit in the posh seats lording it over us peasants who’s money keeps them in the lifestyle they’ve become accustomed. Change is not in these guys vocabulary so anything meaningful like automatic relegation is never going to happen. What the game needs is a professional promoter. Someone to take control of the commercial rights and will sell the game. The promise on untold riches will be the only thing to motivate any real change. Sadly that is unlikely, any commercial rights holder would need to rebrand and repackage the game to be able to generate any significant revenue. Who is going to pay to watch 10 teams play each other over and over and over again? Even the thought of it makes me yawn. Mind you it’s nearly 2 in the morning so that might have a part to play.
  2. Brora had to stop training again once they exited the Scottish Cup. I’m pretty sure the SFA and SPFL have lawyers on tap as it were, so the fact it’s taking this long would suggest they’re either not very good or not very sure. Hopefully you’re right and we will have clarity soon.
  3. Yeah but they resumed training with a date in mind for the play off against each other. Postponing those games to who knows when means they could potentially have started later and avoided any unnecessary costs associated with testing. Let’s not forget they don’t have access to the kind of free money afforded to SPFL clubs this season. Compensation aside the whole thing is a complete joke. Someone at the SFA/SPFL needs to grow a pair and make a decision.
  4. This is getting ridiculous. Kelty and Brora should be compensated by the SPFL to cover the cost of testing as a minimum.
  5. From what I’m seeing on Twitter don’t think there will be any announcement today.
  6. No one ever said Brechin or Kelty deserved anything more than the opportunity to play in the play offs Gordon. Ideally we would want automatic promotion and relegation in and out of all the leagues but that is some way off for a number of reasons. The VoL situation is they finished bottom by quite some margin the last 2 seasons and they benefited from the current situation in a similar way Brechin benefited last season. The difference being finishing bottom of the LL is (usually) an automatic relegation spot. What’s annoyed people this season, including myself about VoL is their reaction towards the league and the board when they thought they might face relegation due to the decision to end the season on PPG. Don’t forget had the LL board not convinced the SFA to allow them to expand to 17 teams they would have been relegated last season. Ultimately VoL have benefited the last 2 seasons and they can now prepare themselves for getting pumped by pretty much every other team in the league for yet another season.
  7. Who knows but I’d love to at least try. Perhaps when they stop kicking the LL round like a political football we’ll get a chance to find out.
  8. The trophies won, League position and a Scottish cup run most clubs (not just diddy teams like us) would envy, demonstrates progress, rapid progress in a very very short space of time. If you actually had any clue about how football works you would see that. But clearly from someone who thinks that a club as young as ours should be sneered at because we haven’t yet challenged for a place in the SPFL shows the level of knowledge you actually have.
  9. Okay if its facts you want we are 6 years old, we'll be 7 very shortly (not sure of the exact date). In that time we have had a 4th, two 3rds and a 2nd in the league. We've won the league Cup and been runner up once. We've won the South Challenge Cup and been runner up once, we're also finalists in that competition for a 3rd time. That game is outstanding from the 2019/20 season. Oh and we got ourselves to the 5th round of the Scottish Cup. No bad eh?
  10. Is that the best you can do Andrew? In our 6 year existence we haven't got near the SPFL, yes you are correct although for 3 of those years we've been challenging at the top half of the LL. If you really wanted to insult me you should have gone for. Your a pretend club with no supporters, or how about my personal favourite your just an over rated boys club.
  11. Aye get rid of VOL. They've beneffited far too much from this. They'll probably go straight down again Sadly circumstances seem to have conspired in their favour yet again. Here’s hoping all their whinging has cost them any goodwill they had from the majority of LL clubs & the LL board.
  12. Pretty sure they didn’t bother about where the goal posts were last season when the LL moved them to save them from relegation.
  13. I was so full of hope when you started with keep things factual. It’s an interesting take. Completely wrong by the way, but interesting none the less. Clearly George is living rent free in your head.
  14. Bit of a stretch that. What was the LL Chairman meant to do?
  15. I don't believe such a line exists. Each league needs to provide an eligible club. In the case of the HL & LL that is a champion club. The SFA have already intervened by advising they couldn't null and void the season and then just nominate a club. I hear people talking about the number of games, particularly the HL played before calling it, but that is a matter for the leagues themselves to decide on. I would assume the SFA have no objection so the SPFL should really just be told to get on with it.
  16. I’m not entirely sure how this would work but the SFA has 65 member clubs who sit outside the SPFL. Surely if they fail to honour their commitment to the pyramid for a second season running those 65 clubs have enough voting power to force through change. In terms of what that change would be, answers on a postcard.
  17. How the LL & HL decide their champion club is not within the scope of the SPFL to review. Although judging by the statement they released, I think your right. They’re certainly trying to make it part of their assessment. We can only hope the SFA slap them down and tell them to get on with it. Sadly the SFA and SPFL are two cheeks from the same arse so it’s unlikely they’ll stand in their way. What’s the potential issue with the Brora ground? I hadn’t heard that one before.
  18. We've still got the South Challenge 2019/20 Final to play and there's the second semi-final between Dunipace and Hill of Beath still to play in that competition.
  19. The league starts on the 17th July. I think the Betfred starts earlier than that.
  20. I don’t think the SFA are keen on an 18 team league. 16 seems to be the preferred number. Not sure why, possibly something to do with supply of match officials.
  21. I didn’t know that but at least it shows consistency.
  22. As with PPG relegation may be taken out of the LLs hands. If the SFA don’t permit them to remain at 17 or increase to 18 then if Kelty are not promoted and EoSL do adopt PPG we could see more than 1 LL side relegated.
