  1. As far as I’m aware it will return to 16 teams next season. How that will be achieved if one or two clubs bail, I have no idea. You might be right in as far as they may temporarily agree to increase to 18 or stay at 17 for next season, before returning to 16 the season after. The 18 team just like the west’s 20 team top division is not one the SFA are keen on, so it’s unlikely to last.
  2. You could be right. TBH I’m not that upset though. It’s really difficult to get that enthusiastic when you can’t get into games. Hopefully things will change soon but I suspect this season will be a complete write off as far as us fans are concerned. It’s a bloody shame as well as it looks like it’s shaping up to be the most competitive the league has ever been.
  3. You should know all about pumpings after the other week.
  4. Who's to say telling the clubs they couldn't stream wasn't a proactive move? I do know some of the posts on social media wouldn't have gone unnoticed. In any event how we got there is unimportant. Clubs can stream and fans can now watch the games. Thats all that really matters.
  5. Don't think it had anything to do with the people in charge. They were bound by the terms of their contract with IMG who hold the media rights.
  6. More and more clubs are seeing the advantage of using social media and the Internet to reach their supporters. Can only be a good thing IMO.
  7. Its really good to hear that sentiment and I totally get it. I'm fortunate in that my club is streaming all the games for free and the one game I haven't been able to get for free I was able to get on PPV. It isn't the same though and although I can't go to games I do really appreciate and feel fortunate that my club is able to provide this. For clubs that are unable to provide this it must be really tough on them and they're supporters.
  8. All of which was agreed before the season started. The one principle I truly believe in is not changing the rules once the season has started. I know that isn’t what happened last season but at that stage we weren’t in control of our own destiny. If however you can get LL, SoSL & WoSL to agree to delaying that date then fine. What do you think the chances are of that happening though?
  9. Burnieman I really do respect you and always enjoy reading your posts. Try and keep you chin up mate. I know it’s tough right now but things will get better. Hopefully soon.
  10. Okay I see the logic in your argument but let’s say the EoSL hit the pause button and resume in time to complete their season by the end of June. As you haven’t provided a champion club on time your excluded from the tier 6/LL play offs. Will that be okay?
  11. I think it’s unfair to say decisions aren’t thought through, although I get where your coming from. Some of the decisions may not be perfect but ultimately every decision made is a compromise and is made by the clubs themselves, either by the board they nominate or by ballot. Some leagues have shown leadership by putting rules in place before the season started, some have had to adapt as the season has unfolded and then of course you have the basket case that is the SPFL. We are all part of the pyramid and all that entails so it doesn’t matter if we’re talking about promotion to the SPFL or promotion from tier 6 it’s all linked. Some of the comments on here about guilt tripping fans is wrong in my opinion. If fans genuinely felt like that they wouldn’t subscribe, the wouldn’t buy season tickets in the knowledge they can’t go to games and they wouldn’t give to donation sites like donate a ticket. Fact is they’re doing all that and more and I’m sure committees of clubs benefitting from this will be looking for ways to reward these fans in the future. We’re nearly there so I just can’t understand why we would want to stop now. This notion we can hit pause and start again at some point in the future is fantasy.
  12. Your part of the pyramid. Your champion club has the chance of promotion to the LL. Conditions are exactly the same for everyone and the vaccine will be readily available to the at risk groups before the end of the season. The reason I’m baffled is that now there is hope that circumstances might improve you want to stop. I understand the financial concerns clubs have and that is why the LL and WoSL have given clubs 2 chances to withdraw for the season. You appear to want the league to make that decision for everyone whether they want to continue or not. I respect any club that makes the decision to play or to stop but surely that’s a decision is for them to make.
  13. So you don’t want to be part of the pyramid then?
  14. I think there is merit in having a break and seeing what develops, extending the season if neccesary into early June, and a few more midweeks. As it is, we're playing Boxing Day.... You either want to be professional or you don’t. How can you extend the season and accommodate play offs between tier 5 and SPFL? Why would you want to chuck it now that the end is in sight and a vaccine is on the horizon? I’m also struggling to understand what any vaccination program has to do with football continuing. Why is the onus on football clubs to stop? Sorry for all the questions but I’m truly baffled.
  15. Top of the league. Not bad for a pointless club.
  16. TBH from what I saw from them when we played them, they do look as if they've improved.
  17. Here's a LL record I've only just found out about. Apparently our win over East Stirlingshire last night is the first time anyone has beaten them by 4 goals since they dropped into the LL.
  18. Thanks for that FWF. I think that EK record will stand for some time to come.
  19. Probably one for HibeeJibee that. Not sure of the attendance but I’d imagine EK v Celtic in the Scottish a few years back would be up there.
  20. I’m pretty sure they will accept relegation gracefully if that ever happens to them. Not to sure what your point is tbh.
