  1. It’s a good shout and hopefully an idea the clubs will try to push. I’m of the opinion this has little to do with testing and more to do with self preservation. Then again I do like wearing tin foil hats.
  2. Most squads have 25 players, your probably looking at a minimum of 32 to 33 players and staff for each club. Even at £2k a week that is likely to be beyond the majority of clubs in the LL.
  3. As far as I’m aware the testing would be PCR tests which depending on who you talk to would be in the region of £5k per week.
  4. I don’t know the full details but one is to complete the remaining fixtures over a 10 week period, one involves a split with reduced fixtures and the 3rd is to get to the 50% of games played to call the season on ppg. The final one being nul n void. Throw into the mix the possibilities of extending the season and the fact teams not competing for the title could play on, even if the champion club is involved with the play offs. They have put a fair bit of effort into planning however it looks as though that may all be in vain if the SFA do as some are predicting and only allowing teams who test to resume.
  5. No. That cannot be determined until they know when they can restart. My understanding is they have 4 possible scenarios and will make a decision once they know when they can resume.
  6. Mac shouts at everyone. Don’t take it personally it just his thing.
  7. TBF the Bo’ness pitch isn’t built on the side of a hill so he should be okay.
  8. We’re 58 games shy of the 50% needed. I would hope if they do restart, they can finish and there is no need for PPG. As for the play offs. Who knows?
  9. If the season is declared null and void, his club will be safe and his young side hanging on the balance of confidence can look forward to reliving their worst nightmares all over again next season. I wonder how many of his young players will have an appetite for that? But never having played the game, what do I know.
  10. Better still just put the current holders straight into the play off.
  11. 2 weeks might well be possible if it’s the end of January, if it’s the end of March I’m not so sure. Your then gambling with players fitness and potentially exposing them to a higher risk of injury.
  12. It’s possible but first we need a restart date. There are a lot of ducks that need to be lined up and a lot of cooperation between clubs, the leagues, SPFL and SFA. I’m not sure that’s possible. Hope I’m wrong and happily come back on here to take a verbal beating if I am.
  13. Problem is if teams do get the go ahead a period of time will be required for clubs to get their players prepared for the restart. Don’t forget the ban covers all football activities, so no training. So if football doesn’t start until the 1st of March, in reality your looking at early April before the league can resume. That would make it impossible for the remaining fixtures to be completed before the end of May or whenever the play offs take place.
  14. I agree with you and Alan on this. I think we’re done for this season. Although it’s worth keeping in mind this was a decision by the SFA not the SG, so it doesn’t necessarily follow that they need restrictions elsewhere to ease before restarting the lower leagues. On the PPG scenario, my understanding is that 50% of all league fixtures had to be completed before that could be applied this season. As it stands we haven’t reached the required number of games. Therefore if we can’t restart then the most likely outcome is null and void.
  15. Is that not your boys style? Outstanding from Bonnyrigg tonight. Didn’t deserve to lose that. To think some people want football at this level stopped.
  16. Good luck tonight guys. Looking forward to supporting you for one night only. Cmon the
  17. The Billy big baws tag is rich coming from someone who supports a team who tried to get the rules they wrote rewritten to avoid relegation. I want football to continue and I feel very strongly about that. I'm sorry if that makes me a Billy big baws. On the subject of the LL board. Dont Dalbeattie Star have a representative on that board? Perhaps that's why they feel empowered to preach to the rest of us. As you say coming across as Billy big baws.
  18. This the problem we are never getting rid of COVID 19. At some point, when the virus is not as prevalent we are going to need to learn to live with it. Shutting everything down because it might be an issue is a really dangerous path in my view. Where do you stop with that? Shut the supermarkets? Stop people leaving their homes for any reason? If there is data to support shutting down football then fine I agree. But if not....
  19. I'm not against Dalbeattie having their say. But when they try to control the narrative before we get the chance to hear from the other 16 clubs. That's when I have an issue. What Dalbeattie have done is mounted a campaign to get the game stopped because they are now starting to see the worst effects of this horrible virus. No such thoughts or concerns were voiced when it looked like they were going to be allowed fans in before Christmas, no such concerns were voiced when they made their 10 hour round trip to Huntly in the Scottish Cup. I know you Welfare boys and Dalbeattie were founding members, not sure what thats got to do with this but as you should know by now History is Overrated.
  20. Glasgow has pretty much been in the highest tiers since the pandemic started, with only a very short period where pubs and restaurants were allowed to operate. In that time we have consistently seen the highest number of daily positive tests, highest number of hospital admissions and highest death rate. In all of that time the authorities have been satisfied to let football continue. Does anyone really think if there was a chance football was contributing to the spread of the virus they wouldn't have shut it down before now? The problem here is the lack of trust. In football we tend to take the view that anyone in authority is incompetent and we could do better. The policy of the SG and their advisors has been to protect the NHS and ensure they do not become overwhelmed. I have no reason to believe they are suddenly going to move away from this stance. I understand the fear, but this isn't new for those of us who have been in the highest risk area for the last 10 months. We've been living with those exact same fears since March last year.
  21. And there it is. I have no clue how it’s possible for you to socially distance. That moral high ground must be awfully crowded.
  22. Seems I’m not the only one rattled. You must be raging that someone could dare to have opinion that’s in opposition of yours. You don’t even support a LL side but your absolutely desperate for us to be shut down. Jog on.
