  1. It's a fair explanation, but it does smack of Kelty's moans are more important than VoL's moans. I wonder who said that ppg must be used and on what basis. The HL are using ppg when some clubs haven't even kicked a ball. Bonkers. If I were to speculate who within the SFA then I would probably go for Maxwell or Petrie. As George sits on the Professional Game Board, I’m pretty sure that guidance will have come from the highest level within the SFA.
  2. I'm confused why you're so keen not to fully involve clubs in the process and allow a vote. Maybe I’m a closet Kelty fan. You should read the article above, clubs were consulted. It’s really interesting that Vale of Leithen benefitted from goal posts being moved mid season last season but are raging because it might go against them this season. You couldn’t mark their necks with a blow torch.
  3. Im confused you were banging the drum for clubs to have a say on this matter and how the board shouldn’t be making this decision on they’re own. Only 3 clubs supported null and void vs 9 for PPG so the board are carrying out the wishes of a clear majority. You should be happy then.
  4. I see sporting integrity getting thrown out there again. Sporting integrity is a flag of convenience used by clubs wishing to push their own agenda. The LL board had agreed with the 50% threshold for PPG at the start of the season when they felt they had a fair chance of achieving that target and based on the assumption that if the league was declared null & void they could nominate a champion club. It became clear as recently as last week that the SFA would not permit this, leaving the league with only 2 options. PPG or Null and Void. As the later would mean 2 years without any play off it was felt by the board and the majority of clubs that the credibility of the pyramid was more important and opted for PPG. It’s worth pointing out only 3 clubs indicated their preference for null and void so the board is actually carrying out the wishes of its member clubs.
  5. There was no vote. Clubs were told of the boards intentions and were encouraged to give feedback. 9 clubs supported the decision, 3 clubs preferred null and void and I can only assume 5 clubs didn't bother to respond.
  6. My understanding is the communication between the clubs and the board is excellent. With regular comms from the league secretary, opportunities for clubs to raise any issues prior to the frequent board meetings, regular general meetings as well as the direct contact clubs have to the Chair, Vice Chair and the rest of the board.
  7. This isn't a normal situation, why wouldn't you allow clubs a say? I find that a bizarre approach. I find it refreshing. A board empowered to make decisions and actually do. I’d much rather that than have a board who don’t have the authority to do anything and every decision has to be made by ballot. Make the decision and move on. A bit radical for Scottish Football admittedly, but nevertheless, I’m all for it.
  8. But it doesn’t effect the majority of clubs so why should they get to vote on it? Surely the board should be able to make that decision.
  9. Not really the point in these extraordinary circumstances, but anyway at least my question has been answered. So what is the point?
  10. So clubs won't have a say? It gets worse. They had their say every time they vote a board member onto the board.
  11. There is no rule in place and there will be no vote. The league board are elected by the clubs to make these decisions. Before the season started a number of scenarios were devised based on what was seen at the time as the likely outcomes. When the season was stopped this was looked at again and the scenarios were revised based on the belief they would get to restart. When it finally became clear that they wouldn’t be able to continue they were left with 2 options Null and Void or PPG. It’s worth pointing out a huge amount of work went into this by the fixture secretary the Lowland league board and all of it in consultation with the SFA.
  12. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not happy about it. I think the LL has been offered up like some sort of sacrificial pawn in a political game between the football authorities and the government. But when it became clear we were never going to get the opportunity to play Kelty, East Kilbride and Bonnyrigg, to then throw away the season that so many people worked hard for is simply unacceptable. I also quite like the fact that in making this decision they are putting the pressure back on the SPFL.
  13. I disagree. Over the games played before the league was forced to stop, Kelty had the best record on the park and that is why they were crowned champions last season and potentially this. What would be a disgrace is if the hard work and expense clubs in the LL have put into making this season happen was to be ignored. For me that is why null and void isn’t an option.
  14. Brechin are pushing to be a LL side. Not sure what's happening there now If reconstruction doesn’t go through the threats will start again. They did it last time when they threatened to block access to the BetFred and Chocolate Biscuit Cup for LL teams. I have no doubt they’ll try it again. That is if they can’t find a way to stop the play offs happening altogether.
  15. Someone will need to explain that logic to me. I see no advantage here. Next season it will be as hard as it’s always been without automatic promotion/relegation. There is no guarantee of league reconstruction either, in fact there now seems to be a groundswell of opinion against the Colts idea. The shit being thrown at George Fraser and the LL board over this is completely out of order.
  16. I’m not wrong and I can assure you my sources are impeccable.
  17. Interesting take on ambition. Finishing at the bottom of league 2 every season but it’s okay we've got sponsorship so we’ll get paid for being shit. The LL have never been offered automatic promotion or an SPFL 3. These are the facts.
  18. The SPFL can’t even agree on a back up plan if they can’t complete their 27 game season. Pathetic
  19. You still haven’t told us what exactly it was that the LL & HL dismissed out of hand. I have no knowledge of any offer EVER being made by Doncaster or anyone else at the SPFL. Our reps may indeed need to get off their arses. You my friend are talking through yours. And by the way this, oh look at all our sponsors is a desperate attempt to validate the absolute shambles that is the SPFL.
  20. Im not aware of an offer from the SPFL ever being on the table, perhaps some other posters on here will have better knowledge?
  21. That is my fear. I’m hoping I’m completely wrong though and we can file this alongside the Americans faking the moon landings and the Beetles replacing Paul McCartney with a lookalike after his death.
