  1. I take it that's been in the pipeline a wee while? That's no a move you decide to make in 5 minutes! Anyways, will City now be signing another goalie or do we think Cammy Quate will be sitting on the bench all season? With the goalie situation changing and the new lad up top, I'm slightly more optimistic than I was a couple of weeks ago!
  2. Ruby, what happened to these decent signings that were being announced? Unless they're all top defenders we're going down unfortunately. I'd sign up for 8th place right now!!!
  3. Correct! They should change this thing to groups of either 4 or 6, so everyteam plays each matchday. It's ridiculous to have teams sitting without any fixture on a Saturday afternoon!
  4. City played well first half and would've deserved to go in 2-0 up at halftime That was encouraging as, on paper at least, we have a very poor squad this season and I'm expecting a long struggle all year. Our defence is utter shite and Hibs strolled through easily second half. Anyone know what's actually wrong with Liam Fontaine?, as we've missed him badly since March. we defo still need minimum, a proper first choice goalkeeper, two proper defenders and a good striker to replace Robbo's goals.
  5. Agreed. Much too early to predict this! So here are my early predictions for now, to contribute to this thread. 1) QOS 2) Hamilton 3) Falkirk 4) Cove Rangers ------------------- 5) Alloa 6) Montrose 7) Stirling Albion 8)Kelty Hearts 9) Annan 10) Edinburgh City For me it's between Queens and Hamilton to win the title. Hamilton making decent signings, but Queens improved massively once Marvin Bartley arrived last season. At the bottom we, (Edinburgh City) must be odds on favourites to go down with the squad we have left, AT THE MOMENT! Hopefully we replace Robbo and Craigen with better, or it's going to be a long season! The promoted teams usually have momentum to do well, so Stirling and Annan should do OK.
  6. Cheers! Good to know from a betting point of view. Should be Falkirk then. It is Falkirk though, so probably Qots.
  7. With Dunfermline and Airdrie both gone, Which teams will be full-time in League one next season?
  8. Robbie is a good goalkeeper, don't bother with what the Falkirk fans say! He was the best goalie in League one last season according to stats I read. I don't know your other keeper, but don't take it as certainty that Robbie will be number two!
  9. It doesn't look like there's any way it can happen, however if the three rows of seats in the stand could be built on and doubled up to six rows that would be a big improvement. Other than that, we're waiting years on this stand on the opposite side being built and I hope it's higher than three rows.
  10. Because it's the councils facility that they built, for athletics. The only blame I'd give the old board here is they were too desperate to get "home" to Meadowbank. Even although that new sports centre there is Not home as we remembered it!
  11. I too hope the name gets changed back to Edinburgh city, although it never really bothered me that much what the team name was. For me a FAR bigger problem was moving back to Meadowbank, with the state of that place for spectators! Actually was back at Ainslie Park for the first time in over a year, last month for the Albion rovers play-off game. I'd forgotten how much better it was at AP than Meadowbank is. I know it's Edinburgh Council's fault for building Meadowbank, in it's current state and our club can take No blame for that. However I'm not sure what we can do to make it any better! And it NEEDS, to be made better or the club will never grow it's fanbase.
  12. Same here, but in reverse! I Very much hope Annan do the business and see off Clyde! I'd love to see Annan come up to League one, as you say a good away day, plus they deserve it. Whereas EVERYTHING about playing Clyde FC is grim... Hopefully, at least 3-0 Annan tonight!
  13. I really hope you absolutely hammer Clyde as well! Good guys against, well, them! Seriously you deserve to go up after coming so close last year! Best of luck!
  14. Was like two bald men fighting over a comb! Both looked poor teams. As you say, once Spartans kept the ball down on the grass they looked the better footballing team. However, I don't know if they've any other strikers, but they were poor yesterday up front, often trying to walk the ball in to the goal instead of shooting on sight. I just feel overall, Albion will have too much next week, as they've been pretty good at home recently.
  15. That's for your average, run of the mill league game though Possil. I think next Saturday, with all the neutrals there, you're looking at a 2000 crowd probably
  16. Have a red card for living up to your name and being a tit. Nobody need worry about Rovers dropping out the league. Home form will see a comfortable win next Saturday. The Spartans have nothing up front to trouble Albion and don't look quite good enough to win.
  17. Alloa 0-4 Dunfermline Athletic Clyde 1-0 Montrose Edinburgh 0-0 Airdrieonians Peterhead 0-0 Falkirk Queen of the South 3-0 Kelty Hearts
  18. The Airdrie section is sold out for tomorrow AND see on twitter you're asking for more tickets, so probably be a lot more Airdrie fans than home fans there.
  19. Fair play to any Edinburgh fan actually going to this meaningless fixture tomorrow! I'm certainly not bothering!
  20. Airdrieonians 3-1 Queen of the South Dunfermline 3-1 Clyde Kelty Hearts 0-1 Peterhead Montrose 3-1 Alloa Athletic
  21. Airdrie 1-0 Dunfermline Alloa 1-0 Falkirk Edinburgh 2-0 Kelty Hearts Peterhead 2-0 Clyde QotS 2-0 Montrose
  22. Aye, sorry mate. I just remember after yous hitting 6 and 7 against the bottom teams that yous only managed to beat Alloa 1-0. Every chance you win the play-offs.
  23. The first game was the same day as an "old firm game" so travelling west best avoided, second game was on 2nd January so no trains and people on holiday. Anyway, doesn't matter. We never have had much support, and the move to Meadowbank has been a disaster! Even the core support we did have over the last few years don't go anymore! We need to move again away from Meadowbank but truth is with Hibs and Hearts in the city there's no appetite for a third team. As for this game, congrats to Peterhead on your win! Hopefully you earn a few more before the end of the season and keep yourself up in League one!
