Very pleasing result. Spong just shaded McKenna for my MOTM. As said above, huge performance from Longridge. Priority reinforcements for me are up front/striker. The huge comfort is that with this squad and system we can only get better as the season goes on.

I think it will be a long hard season. We are so powderpuff it will be painful up against the experienced campaigners in the championship. Tip tapping our way upfield is all very well but be do need some steel once we get there. We cannot go through the season without some experience in the team. Such a shame as there are some talented youngsters in the squad but they need help. I don't think Ferrie has done anything to stop him being No 1.

I thought he was being pushed out at the end of last season and it does not look as if Veldman rates him. In truth he has not shown much of the promise he came to us with. It was a big ask and I just don't think he has what it takes.
