  1. Teasing Goodwillie when it is obviously not him is absolutely dreadful stuff. This is the second time with the same patter, it makes them come across as a horrible little outfit. Tinpot.
  2. Forbes is by far the the least fit player in the division. Can barely move and blowing hard after 20 minutes. Keep him to cameos though and there is still dynamite in that left peg to dae hingz late in games.
  3. I think on balance he would be a safe pair of hands at this stage of the season. Yes, his only success has come when being well backed but he still has more promotions under his belt than a lot of managers who bounce around this level. Any player who plays under him tends to love his training and will run through a brick wall for him. My dad met him on a cruise a few years ago and ended up spending a lot of time in his company and said he was a gem of a guy. I'm sure he will do fine if he gets the job.
  4. It should be noted he had a huge budget at Shire that had never been seen in all the years of finishing bottom. Comparing apples and oranges there. It's a budget that should have achieved promotion in all honesty.
  5. Which has nothing to do with Ray McKinnon. He can only go for talks when permission is granted.
  6. I never really understand the timing argument. A new job can crop up at anytime in all walks of life so who is anyone else to judge moving on to a better opportunity when it crops up? You have to be selfish in football and this is simply something that Ray McKinnon can't turn down if he has any ambition in the game.
  7. And what sick puppy wouldn't want that?
  8. I don't think there is a more obvious appointment for Forfar than McInally. This is karma for the horrible words over the summer regarding young Matty Aitken. Have it right round you with a cherry on top lads.
  9. It's not until now when looking at the ten teams and having to arrange them that you notice this league looks as weak as I've ever seen it. A real gaggle of dung in general. 1. Dumbarton - will start as favourites for the league at this point. Solid signings all over the place, nothing spectacular, but certainly nothing that looks particularly bad either. Moon Howler Farrell could well get the job done here but that dynamic between him and the fans is certainly the one negative going into the new season from the outside looking in. Well that and the park will again be an utter embarrassment obviously. 2. Stenhousemuir - I was penning us in for 6th but looking through the teams I think we look stronger than most, outwith Dumbarton. Still a few things to address- namely a left back and another striker but in general we have recruited well with some steady defenders and exciting non league talent. Keeping Matty Yates could well be the difference maker - the highest scorer in the league from last season left playing in league two this season with Carrick, Goss, Reilly and Hester moving to pastures new (hopefully). 3. East Fife - Nathan Austin and Jack Healy are basically better than most in their postions in this league. Have some other good young players but those two fit and firing should have them in the top four. Boys like Ferguson and Steele will be difficult to replace though, outwith Austin their recruitment has hardly been earth shattering but it may not have to be to get the play offs. 4. Forfar - Slater will be a huge miss but some decent signings so far like the lads from Montrose. You do wonder where the goals will come from though but I actually think Uncle Ray is a decent manager for this level. Rumoured to be after young Matty Aitken at Stenhousemuir much to the delight of the local yokels. 5. Bonnyrigg - Improved a lot in the second half of the season. Horn adapted well as the season went on I think with that experience in the bag they will have a decent season. If McGachie has remained off the Mars Bar suppers and pork scratchings I think he will have a very decent season personally. 6. Peterhead - A gang who don't seem to have the financial clout of yesteryear to attract decent central belt talent. Sure to be a season of transition I can't see them doing much with such inexperience at that helm as they get to grips with this level. 7. Spartans - Look relatively solid all over the park and have added some good pros for league two. I think they will have a similar season to Bonnyrigg last season. 8. Stranraer - Aggy baw should keep them up due to the utter dross the other two will be. Big season expected from Matty Grant to kick on and start adding more numbers. I also wouldn't be surprised Tam Orr getting double figures. 9. Clyde - Look proper dug meat on paper for me. Players added so far aren't going to help that but Elgin without Hester could keep them safe. 10. Elgin - No Hester. No notable replacement for Hester. Manager appointed by default wan eh the boayz very rarely ends well. The time has come which would make me particularly sad (who wants to lose Elgin away from the calendar) as like last season I would predict 10th will go down as a Brechin, EK or Tranent will be too strong looking at recruitment and the eye watering money they are throwing about.
  10. Strange one that on a two year deal. Poor player who has struggled again at Cowdenbeath last season.
  11. It's halfway through June. Why are people always this mental every season without fail to have every signing in before pre-season training has started? Bizarre.
  12. I like Miller but he really went off the boil in the last quarter of the season and was in and out of the team. He would have been on decent money so this was a no brainer if we can use that money to strengthen the squad in more pressing areas. His versatility could be a miss but he was clearly not going to start the season for us in the starting line up particularly if James Berry is close to being the player we are expecting. The midfield of Nat and Miller is ultimately not going to lead to success at this level as has been proven over two seasons now. I believe he's been made available from early in the summer but surprised he has ended up going to Broomhill - he's certainly better than that bunch of charlatans. Good luck to him anyway he always gave his best for the Warriors.
  13. It won't be more than a bag of jelly beans I'd imagine but still ANYTHING for his services is a job well done from The Duff.
  14. That seems pretty bizarre for a promotion chasing league one side. A player I'd consider lucky to be playing league football nevermind a full time team paying a fee. Maybe there is hope for Duffy as a DOF at Clyde. That is a masterstroke.
  15. Sean is good mates with Cooky so very likely to be legit.
  16. I wouldn't argue with that. First time I have been there yesterday for the Dunipace/Bo'ness game and it was first class. Three different viewing areas that are all great in their own way and the grass surface was better than anything I have seen anywhere throughout the regular season.
  17. Shame. Meggatland is a fantastic set up and light years ahead of Ainslie Park or Meadowbank.
  18. With the money grabbing nature of your board it would not surprise me if your board voted yes. Whoring the club out for a potential 40k if they were to get relegated to "The Conference". Deary me. The proposal is an absolute sham and any club voting yes should be suitably embarrassed. Glad you feel similar BF.
  19. Seems to be a good guy of that there is no doubt and comes across well in interviews but zero evidence of being a decent manager. I'm not sure about the extensive contact list. Signed a bunch of old journeymen for EK on good money who done absolutely nothing. Most have now moved on to St Cadocs.
  20. Rutkiewicz has been proven to be a poor football manager in his short career so far. There would be nothing appealing about going after him surely.
