  1. Kevin Drinkell scored in that game for us if i mind rightly
  2. Think i remember that game was that not an end of season game that one was a scorching day ?
  3. We were 90 minutes away from it at Killiei ts took us years to get over the next level pish from the Yogi era, look at Dundee Utd we got bad breaks of having sevco, hibs and hearts in the league at the same time so that accounts for 3 of the 10 years in this division. Call it deluded if you want its seeing the reality of the situation i would be more pissed off if you could hit me with the argument we didnt make the play offs . As i mentioned Houstie was going stale and we didnt replace the quality we lost, thats where the biggest issue was. We took chances with trying to do things differently they backfired, The same championship jobbers doing the rounds with the clubs wasnt paying off they tried something different it didnt work. As knee jerk said most of the decisions the board has made is decisions the fans would want we wanted Houston out we got it we wanted hartley in we got it, we wanted Hartley out we got it, we wanted a different recruiting policy we got it.
  4. In all fairness in a lot of that i would have bit your right arm off for an appointment of Jack Ross as a manager he was always destined for bigger and better than any team in Scotland, but when you look back things were going well under Houston so why change what was working, the other is we got unlucky with the play offs Livi got Lucky thats what it came down to it took us a while to find our feet after relegation which is another factor not to mention the next level stuff Yogi and GC sold the board on which we paid the price for. If you look at the likes of Dundee Utd they are still finding their feet after their relegation, same with Inverness theres no magic formula to getting promoted having a half decent team is a start but we went stale during Houstons tenure or the end at least and losing Vaulks and Leahy was a massive loss to us and replacing quality with the likes of Rankine and Harris was never going to end well we had to think out the box or do something different this whole season is all about ifs and buts we could have signed world beaters it was a gamble that may have worked just unfortunate it didn't pay off but no one can say we didn't try something different. End of the day its life its about chances and as the old saying goes you miss 100 per cent of the chances you dont take.
  5. We accepted the fact the first team was shit at the start of the season, your typing that like it should be a shock to us.
  6. In all fairness any bloke in there right mind would be on the bones every night if they were married to Meaghan Markle, mind you its hardly of they are going to have the same issues as most of us had with got to go to work in the morning get up at daft o clock to feed the wean, change a sh*tty nappy
  7. Be difficult with Latapy he was a genius player thats no doubt but i think going through the ages there has to be a lot but those 3 are are the stand outs, reckon some players mentioned will be more cult, Sammy McGivern would be another i would add to that list of Legends then you have got your Houston and Andy Nicol and your Craw Baptie, but do you add your Mo Johnson, Kevin Drinkell, Tony Parkes and dont anyone dare suggest Carl Finnigan for it ..lol
  8. We'll never know and tbh its done and dusted if Miller and Kerr were still with us i think Sibbs would have stayed, McKinnon has his work cut out but he seems to be working from Attack to Midfield and hopefully next Defence anyone on the inside of TFS start putting subliminal messages about the place with hints for RM to sign a right back
  9. Crunchie. Stainrod and Cadette definite for the 2019 Calendar
  10. I think the fact Hartley got rid sharpish it may have added a bit of credibility to the rumour and if they done it for one manager then the chances are it would have happened again you only have to look at Leicester when they f**ked over Ranieri the players hold the cards in those situations and its easier to get shot of the manager. I do think it is a combo that would have worked had we been mid table say, but i dont think either of them have that ruthless streak in them when it comes to making hard decisions in either dropping a player or getting rid even if it was needed. The 2 of them just seem genuniely good c**ts.
  11. The Mitch one if i recall correctly was imposed by the BoD due to the fact they wanted Hartley concentrating on the 1st team (in that case the board failed Hartley) although having shite man management skills didnt help his own case too much either. End of the day anything info that comes out the club is just rumour and speculation, they f**ked up with Mitch appt Hartley to be fair on him was most fans choice given the job he done at Alloa and the fact no one wanted any of the usual suspects the only other choice would have been Coyle who was snapped up by County before PH was announced. Houston sacking given the way the support wanted change yet some wanted him to stay to turn it round (they were damned if they do damned if they didnt with Houstie)
  12. Rumour was that Miller and Kerr were unsettling the dressing room and once they got Houston out it was Miller/Kerr combo would take over, tbf it isn't a bad shout as a managerial appointment its just not one you want to take a chance on in a relegation battle. The board would have been given pelters for appointing another rookie combo if it failed, although i do think it would have been a popular choice but i would hate it if it ever turned on them and if we had been relegated then they would have been able to say "well its not our fault the damage was done when we took over".
  13. On a positive note at least they know the team is gash and most of the first team will be punted for the 2019 calendar and they are going for a legends, Crunchie for starts is got to be in there alongside Richie Cadette and Stainrod. who would your choices be ? https://www.falkirkfc.co.uk/2018/10/11/vote-for-your-legends-2019-calendar/
  14. Loy's situation was different it wasn't his physical fitness that was the issue it was his mental health plus the fact he had a manager that didn't want him there which definitely wasn't going to help his mental health any.
  15. Could start the academy back up and put the current first team in it they might learn how to play Football.
  16. Its not the trying the usual level of jobber/Journeyman (are you still bitter about Houstie saying that) that anyone is bothered about the fact that most of the teams are still in this league is because the usual jobber is doing the circuit of championship level team. Hows that definition of insanity go again doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. The problem with Hartleys model was he signed players he hadnt even seen and relied on a scout. McKinnon has done not too bad on most of the clubs where he was punching above his weight Raith for starts, Dundee Utd pressure was on as they wanted to bounce straight back up signed players en mass and tbh he did get them to a play off position so you can argue he is still a success with his own team, they just let him down at the final hurdle.
  17. Can we just accept the following: Houston done a good job for the time he was in however towards the end of his tenure things were going a bit stale and the replacements in quality for Vaulks, Leahy etc were sub standard/not good enough. Hartley understandably felt there was something going on when taking over from Houstie and had a clear out what was brought in were good enough to keep us in the league and pull clear of Dumbarton, unfortunately between Hartleys man management skills being sh*t and our English based Scout (Mitch) the 2 of them made a horses arse of player recruitment. McKinnons recruitment at Morton seemed to have them clicking prior to him leaving and provided he is backed by the board then i reckon he will do alright for starters at least he will have seen the players he recruited unlike Hartley. Long story short we cant do any worse and the only way is up providing the rest of the team get their collective fingers out their arses. Oh and we recruited a team that look like football players but are clearly not.
  18. Well if the worst comes to worst and the administrators come calling we can always ask yourselves for advice on how to get the creditors to take 0p in the pound as a settlement.
  19. You would have thought he would have dropped the anti falkirk stance since he got a move to Edinburgh City and wouldnt be surprised if Edibairn was Olaf from One F
  20. Tell you one thing its lucky its none of the others they would be in for pelters: https://www.falkirkfc.co.uk/2018/10/10/meet-the-players-night/
  21. The squad that finished twice had Vaulks and Leahy in it not to mention John Baird (regardless what you think of him we are one of the 2 clubs where he has been effective as a goal scorer) and Bob McHugh
