  1. It is possible but not happening - we are working on a PPV set up for Central Park
  2. But we did have Barr, Pyper, Mullen, Morrison, Buchanan and Renton not in line up
  3. Apologies for any inappropriate language you may have heard there
  4. Presume Hearts wanted them to play at a higher level this season to further aid their development
  5. Friendlies are closed doors, low key stuff this year - wouldn’t expect prominent announcements
  6. Back in the Game! Cowdenbeath took the field once more after a 6 month absence in the unfamiliar surroundings of North End Park, Dundee. On a lovely day, Cowden clicked right into gear with an early goal. Nice interplay between the trialist no 10 and Robbie Buchanan saw Robbie’s shot hit the post and rebound off the Dundee North End ‘keeper into the net. Kyle Miller then came close to making it 2-0 when his long range drive rattled off the post. A second goal wasn’t too long in coming and a fine run by Graham Taylor set up Kris Renton to fire home. In the second half Olly Hamilton came on to join Ross Clarke in making his debut. Cowden continued in the ascendancy and were only denied further goals by the Dokens’ goalkeeper and some desperate defending. Graham Taylor though cleverly combined on the left with the trialist no 10 before bursting through and crashing a shot high into the net. Cowden made 8 substitutions in the second half and it was another trialist forward who crashed home an unstoppable 25 yarder to make it 4-0. This powerful mystery man scorer looked rather familiar! In the closing seconds, Dundee North End had their first real attempt on goal and Mac Whyte pulled off a spectacular save. A Dokens’ player though was impeded going for the rebound and a penalty was awarded. Dundee North End thus made it 4-1 despite Mac Whyte almost saving the spot kick. And that was it - 4-1 to Cowden and a good work out on a warm, sunny day. It’s good to be back!
  7. The situation is that Pixellot cameras were being installed at every Championship club - this was an initiative by a third party company long before Covid. Covid meant that PPV was now more relevant for L1/2 as well but L1/2 clubs have to pay for it themselves. 2 L1 clubs have already got PPV set up but the other 8 plus 5 in L2 have now invested in a system. The guy paying for Albion Rovers isn’t funding the other clubs
  8. They would have got the jist of what is a misleading comment. Play offs are an entirely fair test of skill, nerve, talent, guts and commitment. A lottery is just based on luck - so there is no correlation
  9. But clubs could use board rooms, hospitality suites, club lounges, offices, portacabins, etc as overspill changing rooms
  10. I am not sure you have actually proven Hungary is doing better than us based on the result of a single match
  11. Better tell Cowden then as Scully failed to turn up at Central Park!!
  12. I am not sure you can put Hungary forward as much of a football success story. Scottish football wouldn’t die without the Old Firm but it’s naive to think it will herald a golden age. Winning a competition when the biggest clubs no longer compete in it isn’t a mark of quality. The East of Scotland Junior scene and the Scottish Junior Cup wasn’t transformed for the better when most of the bigger clubs in the East moved on.
  13. Scottish football would be more competitive without the Old Firm but the total number of spectators attending Scottish games would sizeably reduce with a likely knock on effect on Tv monies and sponsorship. Old Firm coverage in the media would likely increase with detriment to that given to the domestic game. The secret for Colts gaining traction (or any reconstruction) is really to understand how it impacts on clubs at various levels and what they might want in a reconstruction to get enough support from each voting constituency. Not just about up front money but about stability and security for instance - Championship thus might want 12 clubs, a better safety net whereby the HL/LL has some proper prize money funding, maybe progress to 12/12/12/12 to suspend relegation from L2 for a couple of years while teams still come up whilst moving to autopromotion/relegation, no reduction in number of home games, lower leagues don’t want splits or regionalisation, etc Its a big job to get anything agreed but there is no point proposing anything unless you get enough clubs on board up front and understand how any change impacts in the round not just from a factional perspective
  14. Well that has all been done to death every time this pops up. If you think there are no potential pros at all then that is pretty blinkered. As for your last point- I am a Cowden fan, always have been, always will be
  15. Although back in the real world not a single one of those fans had an issue with whatever view I did express - notwithstanding your misrepresentation of it
  16. It’s an idea - it does have some pros but there are more cons. Just because you choose to rant about it like a demented Brexiteer doesn’t somehow alter reality.
