  1. Pretty sure most governing bodies would confirm that the 10-0 win stands and award the three points in that scenario
  2. They were respondents in the petition not just ‘interested parties’ along with SPFL and Stranraer
  3. It isn't the team of the season - driven by the votes of partisans rather than merit
  4. If you were arguing that wouldn’t the sensible thing be 1.5 points each per game
  5. It's a decision made by the members. If they were debating it in a meeting and looking for a vote on something the board proposed they would ask all those in favour to say yes. Then if they needed more votes to get it through they would try and persuade enough of the no voters to get on board and also say yes at the meeting.
  6. Grammar alert - verbal is communicating in words be they spoken or written. Oral would definitely denote spoken
  7. We discussed it plenty 27 years ago - if you do the math and reverse the result the Pars would have gone up so yes that result did cost the title
  8. Cowdenbeath did - if Pars had won that game they would have been promoted
  9. Let’s make it simple - Leagues were ended and positions decided on PPG. Hearts and Partick have no quibble that Celtic, Cove, Dundee United and Raith are declared champions. Thus the right of the champions is European CL or promotion and thus the other side of the coin the three clubs bottom of their leagues where there is auto-relegation are relegated. All very logical. Play offs can’t be played thus all clubs in play off spots either miss out on their promotion chance (the majority - including Falkirk and Cowdenbeath) or avoid possible relegation (Brechin and 2nd bottom placed clubs in top 3 tiers). That is just how it is - there is no intrinsically fairer arrangement
  10. Why would it be reported in that way to clubs - they would all readily recognise up front that the situation would potentially impact on broadcasting deals and that conversations/negotiations would take place.
  11. It is wrong, simplistic and biased. Cowden firstly aren’t terrified of Kelty (and other forward thinking Fife clubs) coming into the League - why would they be? Cowden have twice fought for their SPFL status in play offs without any complaint or attempt to move any goalposts. Cowden are also forward thinking. Albion Rovers new manager observed it was a long way to Brora as far as I can make out. The simple facts are 14 doesn’t work well for the Premier League with a split at 26 games. CFC voted for a pragmatic solution in the face of a pandemic - still seems sensible to me and still the only solution that enough clubs can agree on. That meant champions promoted and bottom clubs relegated and no play offs as no scope to play more games. Cowdenbeath FC thus gave up their play off/promotion chance because we saw it was the only realistic option. Thus CFC, Brora, Kelty, Edinburgh City and 6 other play off clubs missed out - that’s tough for all of them but there was no other practical and obvious option in the circumstances. To later propose a plan where some clubs in the play offs were to get preferential treatment over others isn’t more fair. I also don’t really believe a Shire supporter should be setting the standards given Shire being a club that established the standard for dead wood in the Scottish League.
  12. Summed up in a pretty risible myopic manner - as seems to have sadly become commonplace
  13. Cowdenbeath FC is so very deeply upset and saddened to learn of the death of Liam Jackson. Liam of course was a great Cowden fan and in his alter ego was the club’s mascot - Bluebell the Coo. Deepest condolences go out to all Liam’s family and friends on this devastating news. The hearts of everyone at Central Park and all Cowdenbeath FC fans go out to you. Liam was a true fan and he did so much for this club and his loss will hit home to so many. He helped make match day at Central Park a pleasure for so many. Please spare a thought for Liam’s family and friends in these most difficult days
  14. What nonsense - Cove were always going to be champions with their big money backing. Edinburgh City had a record of wld v Cowden and had drawn twice v Elgin. QP had also beaten Edinburgh twice. Neither Cowden, Elgin or QP thought Edinburgh are so much better than us we won’t win promotion. Neither Cowden nor QP voted to get money in the bank and both could have waited to receive league fees at end of May as normal. Thus there is hardly a shred of substance in this fantasy you are deluding yourself with - and that is the problem with so many preferring to rage, fantasise and imagine conspiracies when the truth is much more prosaic.
  15. What are you talking about - don’t you know how play offs work?
  16. Cowdenbeath and Elgin City certainly - Airdrie and Montrose (can’t remember)?
