  1. Dundonald v East Fife game next week
  2. Cowden v Kelty tomorrow evening at Central Park
  3. Or maybe you saw what you wanted to see and not what actually happened
  4. Mckendrick is one of the better refs in the League - enough experience and sense to refrain from littering games with cards as is the fashion nowadays. Fans complaining have been conditioned to expect cards right, left and centre
  5. Instead, we should maybe charge extra for the terracing Muzz - for the old school authentic Fitba experience!
  6. £100k would pretty much be bottom of the league stuff. 16 players at £120 per week
  7. You can't really pay pro players in SPFL £30 or £40 a week now - those days are gone. Minimum wage has seen to that. You might get £50/£60 for pretty young players. But your older players will be more. Bonuses, signing on fees, etc aren't regarded by players as substitutes for wages - they are extras. How much a week is the basic question when looking to sign a player. Bear in mind that if you had a week where you say had 3 hours training and a long away trip say leaving at 8am and home at 8pm (including time for pre-match meal) then that is another 12 hours = 15 hour week = pay of at least £120 a week (at £8 per hour approx. minimum wage). Danny Denholm in Nutmeg magazine gave a reasonably accurate general overview recently for L2 - two figures are shown the first for a title contender and the second for a bottom of the table side. U20 low earner £75/£50, U20 'star' player £120/£100, 1st team regular defender £250/£200, star midfielder/striker £350/£200, high earner 1st team £250/£150, low earner 1st team squad £150/£100, average 1st team wage £175 to £200/£150. You also will have richer clubs paying even bigger money for some star players who could be playing at a higher level. Wages in L2 have been pushed up by minimum wage, the Rangers year and the trapdoor/pyramid.
  8. You boys are never happy - we have a decent team and squad enjoy it while you can
  9. Apart from loans from one window to the next the only other loans now available are 7 day emergency goalkeeper loans. Unlike other loans you do need to seek SPFL permission for each of these 7 day loans. The rules don't say anything about how many times you can do this and by the same token no limit in terms of number of weeks is mentioned. The SPFL will ask for doctor's certification of injury to be submitted.
  10. Fantastic luxury that you can afford to have someone whose only job is to complete the team sheet
  11. Or was it maybe trying to handle a number of important tasks in a short timescale with limited resources and competing demands on your time with constant interruptions?
  12. Fielding a player under another player's name is not just a minor point though - it also impacted on CFC's tactical set up and that is one of the reasons they noticed it.
  13. If you had won you might have lost the points and Cowden would have got a 3-0 win (albeit there is no set punishment). Losing though might produce a higher fine or could still deduct points.
  14. Not on a Friday night though - nothing to do with rules but everything about being actually able to see the action in the first place
  15. Referring to that, bear in mind that match officials have a responsibility to check that substitutes coming on are listed on team lines and have the correct number before allowing them on the pitch.
  16. No you're wrong was highly entertained yesterday. Your comment re 'rules are quite clear now' is nonsensical.
  17. I think it also recognised that at one time (2005) he had been voted Scotland's Player of the Year
  18. Same as every game last season Queens move the ball around with no end product and never look like scoring and their fans moan about referee
  19. It's unlikely you would have received compensation instead the players would still be with you as long as you had matched their existing deal (and made sure you still complied with minimum wage requirements)
  20. Yes plus LL clubs also have to pay for their own match officials
  21. So in effect doesn't most of the money used to pay for youth set up just then disappear into paying 1st team wages - the same as most other lower league clubs.
  22. Seems a very odd model to have any compensation income factored in. There will be a hefty increase in the club wages bill and the move away from Hampden will reduce the attraction of Queens for young players and also other older players. Very few clubs will pay compensation but you end up with some protection in retaining players until they are 23 - those players you lose for nothing can thus be retained for longer but it would be very exceptional in all likelihood to get much in terms of fees/compensation.
  23. Yes arranged and paid for by SPFL for all 42 clubs via a block agreement.
