Where do you stop. Do you limit it to season ticket holders, FSS and patrons to vote on? Do you allow people who can prove they attend or pay for FalkirkTV regularly? Or do you make it an open vote for any fan regardless to vote on, which could easily be compromised? For me there should be no vote. The board make the decision and live with it either way. That is why they’re in charge.

So say nothing about signing anyone?

Maybe some of us understand that we have no control of this situation. The majority of us are no more than fans and stakeholders. If someone’s view is they would walk away from if he is signed then unfortunately that’s what they’ll need to do. Like all walks in life people in charge make decisions that stakeholders, shareholders and employees might not agree with but they are in charge to make these decisions and fall on their sword if it’s wrong.

I totally agree with everything you’ve said, however, I think the only thing stopping us at this point is if we won’t meet Clyde’s valuation. I just think the people in charge will be looking at how desperate we are and if I’m honest, we won’t be an attractive club for a lot of players so getting the quality we need is going to prove difficult

He has likely said he wants to speak to us and due to his service to the club they have allowed him to do this rather than reject it and have their star player unhappy, however, Clyde will have a figure in mind that they will want for him and they will become the sticking point. Believe it or not but this is extremely common in football.

Because our squad is shite, we’re desperate. I honestly believe this is why the board are considering this. They’re desperate and know they need to try and get results quick.

Read up on why Daniel James didn’t transfer to Leeds in the January deadline day before he moved to United in the summer. Are you actually kidding? Players meet clubs all the time before a fee has been agreed and is usually approved by the players current club. I even gave the example above of Trippier and have said that the club would have had to ask Clyde for permission, which I’ve been told both Falkirk and Raith did.

Did you actually read the full statement? The part referring to making “unpopular decisions” is in the same bit that they talk about in the short term backing Martin and Kenny. That part was in no way referring to going part time. I suggest you go back and read the whole thing again.

I have been told by a reliable source. That’s usually how transfers work btw. Club aka for permission to speak to player, club get permission, they speak to said player and agree terms, club then make an offer to players current club. That’s exactly what’s happened with Kieran Trippier.

The fact we’ve made a bid for Goodwillie and the FSS have put out a poll would lead me to believe that it’s happening. I very much doubt they’d have met with the player, agreed terms and put a bid in if they weren’t serious. Either the FSS reps are against it or this pole is an indicator to see what levels of abuse they will receive. The statement the other day confirmed they plan to bring him in.
