  1. Well, had a great day at the football today. Glorious weather, bad result but a virtually mask free stand to sit in. Wonderful!!
  2. I certainly will confess that my knowledge of the situation in the Antipodes is lacking but I keep reading on the BBC website about frequent state and city lockdowns and stay at home orders because of a few cases springing up. Also, is it not the case that international travel is virtually banned? Presumably, they’re going for zero Covid which NS was forced to abandon in favour of vaccination and ‘living with covid’.
  3. Nothing. From what I can discern, there doesn’t seem to be a great deal of difference between countries like Sweden which didn’t have a lockdown and ourselves. All that happens is that the deaths in the older and vulnerable population happen a little bit earlier. Countries like Australia and NZ have total lockdown with their populations completely incarcerated. Certainly very few deaths but will they ever re-emerge as their vaccinations are very slow? I think our calculated risk of allowing things to kick off during the summer amongst the young and healthy is a risk worth taking and hopefully, after peaking we should reach some kind of herd immunity. Let’s go for it.
  4. What I would like to see is a lot more context being put into the daily published figures of deaths, cases, etc. As an example, every day in Scotland around 160 people die of a variety of reasons. Even the published so called Covid deaths must contain some people who had other conditions but also tested positive for Covid. Maybe all the data is there but the headline figures, without context, just scare people.
  5. In fact this is going to be very interesting as, if customers dislike muzzling, then they are free to take their custom elsewhere. Thats how a market works.
  6. Yes, you’re correct. However, we did receive ours within a few days of application which was not bad.
  7. Yes, I agree. He was someone I hoped we would bring back.
  8. Disagree I used to watch him in the reserves and always thought he had potential. Quite silky on the ball. I think he did okay with Edinburgh City partnering Balatoni.
  9. I think you’ve hit the nail on the head. I look on myself as an individual with basic rights to do what I wish as long as I am doing no harm to anyone else. When I’m told to do or not do certain things I need to know WHY. At least the UK press conferences try to explain things with graphs and data, albeit I sometimes feel that it is out of date. I’ve given up watching the SG press conferences as they tell you nothing and the questions I’m bursting to ask never get brought up by the Scottish media who are worse than useless. As a consequence I am constantly in an angry state. Human beings are sociable creatures and anything which diminishes that sociability weakens our very humanity. I just feel that that aspect never seems to be taken account of. To me a masked person is something akin to a ‘Humana robotica’ as our facial expressions are so very important and distinguish us from other species.
  10. Thanks for that. Don't mind being slagged off for my views but not for things which actually happened. North Stand - TFS - N213 and 209. They were in RowM.
  11. Must report a joyful return to live football last night. So much better than watching live streams on an iPad. However, sad to say that about 95% of people were wearing masks throughout. I was sitting beside my son (both unmasked) and was chided by a woman in the row below about us breaking the rules. I retorted that we were father and son to which she pointed to the man seated 4 seats along from her ‘He’s my husband’!! What can you say about just how brainwashed the public have become.
  12. So happy to be back at live football and we actually played football. Sheer joy to watch. okay, some obvious weaknesses but we have a team worth watching. Night and day from the last few years. Come on, get your ST’s bought.
  13. Yes. received email giving login instructions for ftv.
  14. Sadly, not my experience. Wife and I travelled by train to Glasgow Queen Street and we were the only unmasked passengers. On return journey in the evening all the younger people were totally masked. Again, we appeared to be the only unmasked.
  15. I think the UK government position is correct. Freedom day means all legal restrictions are lifted but obviously the public need to be quite vigilant and be responsible. Seems simple - on a crowded bus or train, wear a mask but if it’s quiet then no need. For me, coming from a love of individual freedom and suspicion of authoritarian government, this is just great. Just wish the SG would follow suit.
  16. Not trying to be political here but I just wish we could deal with this as one country, especially the rules regarding foreign travel. Must be hell for people in the travel and holiday industry.
  17. Fully jabbed months ago. Was never an anti- vaxxer.
  18. Completely disagree but go to the Covid thread and I and others will readily debate with you there. SD s only happy when he’s moaning. He’s a nice fellow, by the way.
  19. Certainly looking forward to seeing him and the others on Tuesday playing to Sheerin’s tactics. Only way we can judge how poor or good they are.
  20. Maybe you should watch tonight’s game from Wembley and ask yourself just how appropriate Dentist Leitch’s rules and regs are?
  21. Absolutely pathetic! Scotland did well and drew with England but surely we can bring ourselves to cheer them on tomorrow. I, for one, will be.
  22. It’s not the older generation who are currently getting the disease. Anyway, you’re on the wrong forum.
  23. You and I have had our differences but I think you are so correct here.
  24. Have you been watching Wimbledon or the Euros?
