  1. Well that went a little differently to the last Annan home game. Didnt think we had our game head on at all first half. Our second really seemed to take the life out of Annan and changed the atmosphere completely. It's great to finally do it amd to seal it with a win is just perfect Got a bottle of red (obvioulsy) open to celebrate.
  2. Well let's hope so. Expecting a tough game tomorrow. Let's hope we can keep 11 on the park snd make a better game of it than the last home game against Annan.
  3. Good news. When fit his pace and directness has been a real asset.
  4. One fhose ageless players. Still looked class playing for Ipswich in the 90s. Seemed to be more common English clubs taking scottish youngsters in the 70s and 80s
  5. Better coaching and management in general. The recruitment was decent too but I'd put the former as more of a factor. There has been a massive improvement this season compared to last. As well as playing better football, the team spirit in general is better than I've seen in decades. Not only have they played some cracking football, there have been multiple comebacks and late winners. The fans are loving it and crowds have increased through the season. There's just a really positive vibe throughout, staff, players, fans. I've always thought it's much easier for players to buy in when they are encouraged to play decent football. We've generally.played a 442 with out and out wingers and Jack leitch as part of a midfield 2, which is a pretty attacking line up. I'm not convinced we can get away with that every week next year but that's for another day..
  6. But if the outcome is another title challenging season then surely that isn't that bad? You've had a bad patch which coincided with injuries and a fixture pile up but there's the makings of a decent side there as they showed previously. Your keeper and back four are better than most of the league and players like Orsi and Wilson are more than decent for this division. If you don't get up via the playoffs then I'd think you'll be up there challenging again next season. Having said all of that, I wouldn't have wanted Wylde resigned based on what I've seen against us.......
  7. Think it's also got a lot to do with way the game went. It kind of petered out in the 2nd half. If it had been a draw with us equalising in the last minute then I think the reaction would have been different.
  8. Exactly. There was no obvious replacement and 2nd half especially i too thought davidson wasn't having his best game. Orsi was good. Very impressed. Atmosphere in our end was better first half but definitely got a bit tense 2nd half. There have been so many last minute goals and excitement in the unbeaten run that I think it did just all seem a bit anti climatic. I've believed since the last minute winner in the home bonnyrigg game that we were going to win the league and now just want it confirmed.
  9. I agree. It did feel tense. The unbeaten run has been amazing and exhausting and it now feels like we are within touching distance. I for one, rally didn't want us to lose and open the door even a wee bit. I think you are right, a goal would have livened everything up. Thought Paul McLean should have done better with the header from the corner first half and it sure looked like handball from mcniff in the second. Apart from that we didn't make a lot of clear chances. We were better with the ball on the ground. Seemed like grant, buchanan and mcniff were winning nearly everything in rhe air especially 2nd half. Was surprised at no 2nd half subs earlier, not even the traditional 60 minute winger switch. On to Saturday and hopefully we seal it in front of a packed forthbank
  10. I saw it thst way too. Trying to slow the game down.. Thought Dumbarton were good in the air which nullified our set piece threat a bit.
  11. Looked Like a penalty to me. Almost there. They really gave it everything. Dumbarton seemed happy with a draw and couldn't understand why. Gotta love the traffic getting out this place.
  12. Careful now or a game of football may break out later.
  13. Hard to put a finger on one singular reason but totally agree. I haven't felt this level of positivity around the club in many many years They're an easy team to like, sont seem to be full of massive egos at all. Their resilience has been amazing. At times we've played great football and at others we've had to battle. There also seems to be a real connection with the fans. I'm enjoying this season more than any since the early 90s.....
  14. Not officially. A draw would make it a 9 point lead with 9 left to play for. The goal difference advantage means it would almost confirm it but not mathematically.
  15. The recruitment was decent but unspectacular. It did address key areas though. Left back had been a problem for a while and Clark has been mostly solid, 3 red cards aside. Davidson, although not universally popular is a good foil for leitch with better positional discipline. Carrick plays better not up on his own and getting him Thomson as a strike partner has been a masterstroke. We've been luckier with injuries than previous seasons too Different team this season though, better than expected and shows that sometimes it is necessary to give a manager a full pre season for recruitment and training before we judge them.
  16. Unfortunately the worst of people often seem to have the loudest voices. Every club has their fair share of nutters and they seem to often reside on Facebook and twitter. I don't judge any club on the worst of their support. With the weather currently looking fine, I'm wondering what freak event is coming this time. Localised tornado?
  17. Yep exactly. I really pity you guys having to put up with that shambles of a club. Fair play to those of you still supporting your team with ownership and management like this.
  18. Seems some folk did manage to get a refund. I queued with a good few others for a piece of cardboard which apparently give entry to the rearranged fixture.... .. I really couldn't be bothered arguing about a tenner. Total shambles regarding communication and any manner of customer service. Really poor show tbh.
  19. Ffs. I didn't think it looked promising when I arrived tbh at about 7.10. Weather happens and pitches get wet.... But to have no plan, no refunds snd make us stand in the rain for 20 minutes to get a piece of cardboard as entry for this I'm beginning to think mythical game...... pretty aamateurish. Paid 3 quid for parking too...
  20. Agreed. Our attendances lately would put us in the mid range for league one.
  21. Definitely. I just don't see the point in getting ahead of ourselves. Let's get the title clinched and then we can start worrying about next season. I don't want to start talking about what needs upgrading when the guys are out giving their all week in week out to try and deliver a title.
  22. Early days, plenty of time to get next season sorted out. We haven't got certainty in which league we will be in. I'd say we are ahead of schedule in preparation for next season. I do agree that I'd like Geeks signed up though. I'm sure he can still do a job for us next season.
  23. It was better than Tuesday but not by a huge amount. The inside out wingers early didn't work at all and I was relieved to see them switch sides. East Fife were probably the vest footballing side I've seen come to forthbank this season and thought they played pretty well in patches. We look a tired team and I'm impressed with their resilience in continuing to pick up points. Given the Dumbarton result, its a good result for us. Another point closer. Couple of great finishes, especially the second. Looking forward to Tuesday now
