  1. This fixture is reminding me of our first trip down to Palmerston last season. We were playing really well, but then we got royally pumped. Differences though, we're not just a one man band going forward this season so if one of our front men has an off day, luckily there are 3 more to contribute! We're so overdue a win down there, so I'm going for a wildly optimistic repeat of Saturday's scoreline, 4-1 Ayr. Forrest anytime, Dobbie to score a consolation.
  2. Absolutely buzzing after that! Thistle were woeful. I predicted 2-1 Ayr so to get 4 is just wonderful. I loved Moore's 2nd goal in particular. So much power behind it to beat Fox. Loads of similarities between this Partick side and Falkirk last season... Worryingly for you.
  3. Aye... I wished them luck but I draw the line at that hahah really odd.
  4. What a result for the Super! Btw that pub across from the ground was the worst Tutties bar I've ever been in. Total disappointment.
  5. Arbroath away, the best away day! A number of us getting the train up, with plenty of time for pre-match pints at Tutties Nuek! Lets get up there in numbers and let the team know we're fully behind them and not moping about McCall. Will be interesting to see how Arbroath play. I'm confident though we'll continue our good form, so I'm going for a 3-1 win for The Super. Moff double, and McCowan on the score sheet. Dick Campbell to march onto the pitch at somepoint too.
  6. I'm not going to bother reading it. Absolute cringe fest. People sucking up to Lachlan then crying when they don't get the answer they want. Yeah he lives thousands of miles away but surely he realises that a social media Q&A is not the best way to do things... I'm certain that no other football club in Scotland interacts with fans like that.
  7. He absolutely shouldn't be doing these social media Q&As! They make us look totally tin-pot. It's unprofessional. Yeah it's great to have communication from the owner, but not on a Facebook page. It should be AU Media doing a video interview (via Skype), or a podcast, with questions sent in from the fans.
  8. I think it suggests they're not going to rush into appointing some dafty. Plenty of time to receive applications and make a proper decision. And as you said, gives SS a great opportunity. Can't remember how long it was from when Roberts left to the hiring of McCall?
  9. He was a good coach with us so could help to steady the ship in this post McCall era? (If it needs steadying). Knows the place, and has worked relatively successfully with some of the current playing staff. Just a thought on this strange day!
  10. Aye I wasn't being entirely serious... haha I'm in the Coyle, Hendry and Stewart camp!
  11. Fair enough. Sandy Stewart and Owen Coyle for me stands out!
  12. What's Brian Reid up to? Could do a better job second time around?
  13. I'm still clinging on to the hope that the state of Partick both on and off the field is putting him off... very wishful thinking at this stage!
  14. I'm sure he's on a monthly rolling contract... So there's nothing the club could do if someone wanted to speak to him.
  15. Getting pelters from Talbot fans in McDonalds at Argyll Street. What a season. Onwards and upwards with some fresh blood in the squad!
  16. First post here... I've been reading for long enough so thought I should join in. I don't think Shankland is going anywhere in this transfer window. Regardless of the fee we're willing to sell him for, I think Shankland is smart and knows that at this stage, money isn't everything. People in this thread have been going on about how everyone would leave their jobs if they were offered 2, 3 times the wage... but being happy, scoring goals, being adored by fans, and being settled in home life etc is perhaps more important to him at this stage. Money isn't everything. He could be on a large salary but on the bench, loaned out to a League 2/Conference side, away from his family and feeling miserable. No matter how much you were getting paid in your job, the chances are if you weren't enjoying it, you'd take a wage cut to be happier. Yes he will leave eventually, and I hope it's at the end of the season, with us finishing in the top half, who knows, we might even do better. Shankland will go on to do well and make good money elsewhere. We need to think long term, and not just take the cash we see infront of us. Keeping fans at Somerset, making us appealing to potential buyers, and future up and coming players is vital.
